Chapter 60 - Attack On Ryuji

Yoruichi stood at the center of the Hokage Building's second floor, his presence commanding, radiating an almost playful confidence despite the tension crackling in the air. Across from him, Yagura Karatachi, the leader of the Mist ninja group, struggled to keep his temper in check, though his team had already succumbed to anger.

"It's you!" Yagura's voice was steady, but the underlying fury was undeniable.

"Hold on!" he ordered, raising a hand to restrain his comrades, but it was too late. The three Mist ninja launched their attacks simultaneously.

"Water Release: Water Spout!"

"Water Blade Slash!"

"Water Prison Jutsu!"

Yoruichi smirked, his tone dripping with mockery. "A bunch of amateurs playing with water."

With a deep rumble, the ground beneath them erupted. Thick, twisting roots burst forth, tearing through the floors like unstoppable spears. The vines expanded, creating a barrier of writhing wood that intercepted the incoming attacks. Water splashed harmlessly against the living wall, dissipating in the air.

From above, the Hokage's office shook violently. Sarutobi Hiruzen, the Third Hokage, steadied himself, his face darkening with alarm.

"An earthquake?" he muttered, but a masked ANBU operative appeared almost instantly to provide clarification.

"Hokage-sama, Mist ninja are clashing with Yoruichi on the second floor."

"What?!" Hiruzen roared, his outrage palpable. "How dare they bring a fight to the Hokage Building!"

The ANBU hesitated. "It was the Mist who initiated the attack, but… Lord Yoruichi's Wood Release… it's pierced through the entire building."

Hiruzen's jaw tightened, his frustration boiling over. "When this is over, they'll pay for the damage! Tenfold!"

Back on the second floor, Yagura cursed under his breath as the confrontation spiraled out of control. He quickly formed seals, his voice calm yet firm. "Water Release: Hidden Mist Jutsu."

A dense fog rolled in, shrouding the battlefield in a suffocating white haze. Visibility dropped to nothing, and the air grew heavy, pressing against their lungs like a physical weight.

Yoruichi stood unfazed, his senses heightened. Within the mist, his adversaries moved, their killing intent cutting through the air like knives.

"Don't kill him!" Yagura barked, his voice barely audible through the dense mist.

Yoruichi, however, remained calm, the system's prompt flashing in his mind.

"Mercy, huh?" Yoruichi mused with a smirk. "Fine, let's put on a show."

With a deliberate motion, he slammed his hand onto the floor. "Wood Release: Birth of the Deep Forest!"

The wooden roots responded like a predator unleashed, surging upward with explosive force. The tendrils of wood moved with surgical precision, disarming the attackers and pinning them to the ground before they could react. The Mist ninja's combined jutsu shattered against the massive wooden barrier, unable to penetrate its defenses.

Above, Yagura leaped backward, narrowly avoiding a tendril that shot up from beneath him. Sweat dripped down his temple as he realized how dangerously outmatched they were.

"This is insane," Yagura muttered. "He's destroying the entire building without a second thought…"

"Yoruichi!" Hiruzen's enraged voice echoed through the chaos, his patience clearly at its limit.

Yoruichi chuckled, his shadow clone disappearing with a puff of smoke. The real Yoruichi, standing on Hokage Rock alongside Kushina Uzumaki, felt the memories of his clone flood back. He sighed, half amused, half exasperated.

"Looks like my first day on the job was... eventful," he muttered.

Kushina tightened her grip on his hand, concern flickering in her eyes. "What happened?"

Yoruichi shrugged, a roguish grin on his face. "Just a little misunderstanding with the Mist. Nothing I couldn't handle."

But before they could continue their conversation, a shadow emerged from the treeline. A man draped in a black cloak stepped forward, his presence suffused with an ominous aura.

Yoruichi's expression hardened. "Uchiha Madara…?"

The figure activated his Sharingan, and the world seemed to slow. "Genjutsu: Demonic Illusion – Narakumi no Jutsu."

"Not today!" Yoruichi roared, his hands moving in a blur. "Wood Release: Wood Dragon Jutsu!"

The earth split apart as a massive wooden dragon surged forward, coiling through the air with terrifying speed. It collided with the figure, tearing it apart in an instant.

But as the pieces fell, they dissolved into smoke.

"A shadow clone…" Yoruichi muttered, his eyes narrowing.

"Yoruichi?" Kushina called softly, her voice pulling him back.

"It's nothing," Yoruichi said, forcing a smile. But his mind raced. The presence of Uchiha Madara—or someone pretending to be him—was troubling. Whatever was happening, it wasn't over yet.

Back in the Hokage Building, Yagura and his team sat restrained, their expressions a mix of disbelief and humiliation.

"He defeated us with a shadow clone…" one of them muttered.

Yagura said nothing, his gaze fixed on the now-forest-like interior of the Hokage Building. Whatever came next, one thing was clear: Yoruichi was a force to be reckoned with.
