Lu Jun didn't engage much with Dongfang Jun and his group. He wasn't interested in forming connections with noble families. Saving them had been merely a passing act, with no intent for rewards or friendships.
He quickly walked up to Tang Yue, speaking softly, "Let's go. The item is secured, and the culprit has been dealt with."
However, after calling her a few times, the woman beside him only trembled slightly, not moving an inch.
Realizing something was wrong, Lu Jun reached out to grab Tang Yue's delicate wrist. The burning sensation startled him, and before he could react further, a pair of soft hands tightly held onto his.
"The drug is taking effect… Take me somewhere safe. I… I can control it myself."
Tang Yue's breathing was faintly ragged, her enchanting eyes misty and unfocused. Her long legs struggled to remain steady as her fiery, soft body leaned against him. She had felt the effects earlier, back in the dense forest, which was why she'd been stirred by Lu Jun's actions.
Lu Jun cursed inwardly, scanning the surroundings before gritting his teeth. He grabbed the mature woman's soft waist and hoisted her onto his shoulder. Activating the Sky Boots, he sped downhill like the wind.
"Ugh…" Tang Yue groaned as her abdomen pressed against his shoulder. She dry-heaved involuntarily, shocked by his rough handling. She had considered many possibilities but hadn't expected this young man to carry her so 'crudely.'
But she had to admit—magic equipment truly was fast.
In the blink of an eye, Lu Jun had carried her back to the inn. The wind howled around them, leaving only afterimages. No one even noticed them.
At the reception desk, the same clerk from earlier looked at the couple in astonishment. A realization dawned on him, and he smirked to himself. "I thought it was an older woman chasing a younger man, but turns out it's… something else."
Giving Lu Jun a thumbs-up, he thought, Impressive. Turning the tables in just one day.
Lu Jun, oblivious to the misunderstanding, quickly carried Tang Yue to the room, throwing her onto the bed and gasping for breath.
Before he could use the psychic magic Pacify, the wild woman suddenly wrapped her long legs around him like white pythons. His body was pinned, and he fell onto the bed face-first.
At that moment, Lu Jun felt like he had sunk into a scorching, soft cushion. Raising his head slightly, he was met with a pair of rosy lips pressing against his own.
"Mmph!"
His eyes widened in shock. My first kiss?! What a loss! Worse, this woman seemed intent on invading his mouth further.
Still stunned, he barely had time to process before a force pushed him aside. Tang Yue had regained some clarity and shoved him away, her face flushed with embarrassment.
For a moment, Lu Jun just lay there, dazed. Soon after, he felt another wave of heat as the woman lunged at him again, pinning him to the bed.
Lu Jun froze. If this continues, I won't be saving her—I'll be in trouble myself!
"Spirit Ripple: Pacify!"
Though he valued his integrity, Lu Jun remained calm and collected. He wasn't one to take advantage of someone's vulnerability. Activating his magic, his white-glowing eyes locked onto Tang Yue, suppressing her chaotic state.
Tang Yue's body trembled as if doused with cold water. Her mind settled, and the wildness in her gaze faded. She slowly backed away and sat on the sofa, her clothes slightly disheveled. Her short skirt had nearly rolled up to her waist, revealing the mesmerizing curve of her hips.
For a moment, the room was filled only with the sound of their ragged breathing.
Lu Jun cast another Pacify on himself to calm down before asking, "How are you feeling now?"
"Me?" Tang Yue frowned slightly, her expression pained. The fiery heat in her body clashed intensely with the cool clarity of her mind, creating a tormenting dissonance.
The nature of psychic magic altered the usual mind-body connection, forcing her into an uncomfortable state.
Seeing her dazed look, Lu Jun refrained from asking further, knowing she was in no condition to answer properly.
Unfortunately, he didn't get to rest long before the woman's voluptuous body lunged at him again. The effects of his magic had worn off.
"Stay calm." Lu Jun firmly gripped her shoulders and activated Pacify once more.
Tang Yue collapsed back onto the sofa, her eyes rolling slightly as she panted heavily.
Observing her state, Lu Jun muttered to himself, "Is there a downside to using psychic magic? Overusing Pacify might create a pathological dependency…"
But since he had already started, he had no choice but to continue.
Moments later, Tang Yue sprang up again. Lu Jun, exasperated, prepared to cast his magic again when his phone suddenly rang.
The sharp ringtone echoed through the quiet room, startling both of them.
Frowning, Lu Jun used one hand to hold Tang Yue back while checking his phone with the other. Seeing the caller ID, his expression twitched—it was his sister, Lu Mei. Of all times…
He considered ignoring the call, tossing the phone aside to cast another Pacify. However, the incessant ringing made it clear that she wouldn't give up.
Feeling trapped, Lu Jun thought bitterly, Why does saving someone feel like sneaking around in an illicit affair?
Glancing at the disheveled woman on the sofa, he fell silent. Actually… it really does look bad.
Thankfully, the calls eventually stopped.
Meanwhile, in Magic city, Lu Mei sat cross-legged, frowning at her communication device. Is he on a mission? I'll wait a few hours, and if there's no response, I'll go find him.
Back in the hotel room, after much back-and-forth, Tang Yue finally calmed down. Her mature, alluring face was filled with exhaustion as she curled up and fell into a deep sleep, both physically and mentally drained.
Seeing this, Lu Jun let out a sigh of relief. The frequent use of his psychic powers that day had drained his magic energy. However, he felt his mastery of magic had improved significantly. He was now at the peak of the beginner tier and might break through to the intermediate tier within a few months.
"Well, I guess this was a blessing in disguise."
Smirking self-deprecatingly, Lu Jun considered leaving but decided to stay and watch over her, falling into a light sleep himself.
When Tang Yue woke up hours later, she found her clothes in disarray, exposing a large expanse of her fair skin. Panicked, she quickly examined herself and, finding nothing amiss, sighed in relief.
Looking at the young man sleeping on the bed, she felt a subtle warmth in her heart. Remembering the events of the previous day, her face turned crimson, and she covered it with her hands.
Taking a deep breath, Tang Yue scribbled a note of thanks on a sticky note and quietly left without waking him.
Her thoughts as she left? I can't face him again.
Shortly after she left, Lu Jun woke up and saw the note. Scratching his head, he thought, I guess I came out ahead. Got a Spirit Seed and only lost a bit of face. Worth it.
Realizing the nature of his thoughts, he shook his head in shock. Am I turning into Mo Fan? Shameless and thick-skinned?
Meanwhile, in a distant shelter, Mo Fan sneezed. Chuckling, he mused, "Haha, some beauty must be thinking about me."
