Alex tightened his grip on his twin blades as he and his skeletal army advanced to the second floor. His undead soldiers moved in eerie unison, their glowing eyes reflecting the dim emergency lights of the building. The scent of gunpowder and the echoes of distant shouts filled the air. This was no ordinary building—it was a fortress of crime, a hive of corruption built under the leadership of Wilson Fisk, the infamous Kingpin.
The moment Alex stepped onto the second floor, an explosion erupted near the entrance. Smoke filled the hallway as armed men in tactical gear appeared from hidden corners.
"He's here! Take him down!" one of them barked.
Alex smirked, gesturing to his undead. "Show them what happens when you mess with the dead."
The white skeleton warriors raised their rifles, unleashing a barrage of gunfire, while the black skeleton warriors charged in with enhanced speed and strength. Alex advanced through the chaos, cutting down anyone foolish enough to stand in his way. His blades danced in the air, slicing through armor and flesh with ease. The Blade of Despair seemed to sap the will of his enemies, while the Blade of Hope emitted a radiant light that protected his allies.
Same scenario was repeated again and again until he reached the 50th floor.
The 50th floor was different. As soon as Alex entered, a hulking figure stepped into view. The man was clad in reinforced armor, his fists encased in glowing gauntlets.
"You must be the guy causing all this trouble," the man growled. "Name's Enforcer. Kingpin sent me to stop you."
Without hesitation, the Enforcer charged, his gauntlets crackling with energy. He slammed his fists into Alex's chest, but his eyes widened in shock as Alex didn't even flinch. The force that should have sent a normal man flying barely made Alex sway.
"Was that supposed to hurt me?" Alex asked, tilting his head.
Before the Enforcer could react, Alex drove both his blades into the man's chest. The Enforcer's eyes filled with terror as he realized how effortlessly Alex had defeated him. He gasped once before collapsing to the ground, lifeless.
[ Killed: The Enforcer ]
[ Gained 400 XP ]
[ Level Up: Reached Level 7 ]
Alex glanced at his undead army, nodding in satisfaction. His mastery over Beginner Undead Magic had improved further, now reaching Level 4 (1/4).
Alex nodded as he ascended the final staircase, his undead army trailing behind him like shadows. The floors leading up had been filled with more grunts and enforcers, but they were little more than fodder for his steadily growing power. By the time he reached the top floor, his strength had peaked, and his undead soldiers numbered in the hundreds.
He pushed open the massive double doors leading into the top office. The room was spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows providing a panoramic view of the city skyline. Behind an imposing desk sat Wilson Fisk—the Kingpin. Flanking him were two individuals.
One was a man with a distinctive red-and-white bullseye design on his mask, his piercing gaze locked on Alex. The other was a striking woman in green, her stance oozing confidence and lethality. Alex could feel the air around her humming faintly with power.
"Hello, Mr. Whoever-You-Are," Alex said casually as he stepped inside, gesturing for his black skeletons to follow. He let the bigger undead stand imposingly at the door.
Fisk leaned back in his chair, unbothered, his massive frame dominating the room. "May I ask why you're barging into my building and ruining everything I've built?" His tone was calm, almost amused, as though Alex's actions were nothing more than an inconvenience.
Alex tilted his head, taking a seat across from Fisk. The tension in the room was palpable, his skeletal army silently surrounding them. "You've got quite the guts to sit there like everything's normal with me right in front of you." His voice was low, but his words carried a weight that even the undead behind him seemed to respect.
Fisk smiled, steepling his fingers. "I find that power is best displayed with composure. Wouldn't you agree?"
The man with the bullseye mask snorted. "You've got no idea who you're dealing with, pal. Care to find out?"
Alex turned his gaze to Bullseye, an amused grin tugging at his lips. "And you must be the disposable sidekick. I'll deal with you in a moment."
The woman in green stepped forward, her eyes narrowing. "I don't think you understand what you've walked into, stranger. You should leave while you can."
Alex chuckled, leaning back as his suit subtly shifted, the blades on his wrists extending slightly. "Oh, don't worry. I understand perfectly. I'm here to end the show. And I'm not leaving until it's over."
"Why don't we talk this out?" Wilson Fisk said, his deep voice steady and deliberate. He pointed at Alex, his imposing figure somehow maintaining an air of control even in this absurd situation. "Tell me, what do you want?"
Alex smirked, leaning back in his seat with casual arrogance. "Hmm... Give me all your money. Right now."
Fisk's expression remained unreadable, though his massive hand slowly moved beneath the desk, unseen. Outwardly, he appeared calm and cooperative as he nodded. "I can do that," he replied smoothly, typing on a sleek laptop on his desk. He glanced up at Alex. "I'll need your account information."
Alex shook his head, his tone laced with mockery. "Nah, just give me your passwords. I'll take care of it myself."
For a moment, Fisk's lips twitched, the only indication of his rising irritation. Despite this, he nodded, buying time as he glanced toward Bullseye and the woman in green.
The woman, whom Alex could now identify as Viper, narrowed her eyes. She shifted slightly, her green-clad figure poised for action. Bullseye stood tense, his fingers twitching near a throwing knife, ready to strike at a moment's notice.
The room was thick with unspoken tension, but Fisk knew better than to underestimate the situation. The undead that filled the office, particularly the hulking black skeletons Alex commanded, were an obvious threat. Neither Bullseye's deadly precision nor Viper's venomous prowess seemed like they would be enough to overcome such numbers.
Fisk leaned back slightly, his fingers still hidden beneath the desk. "If you think this is going to end with you walking out of here with my money, you're mistaken."
Alex tilted his head, amused. "Oh? You're saying this is going to end some other way?"
"Exactly," Fisk said, pressing a concealed button beneath his desk. The room's atmosphere shifted immediately as hidden panels in the walls slid open, revealing mounted guns and advanced security systems that began targeting Alex and his army.
Alex merely sighed, cracking his neck. "You really shouldn't have done that."
