Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: New Life (2)

Screech—the sound of tires against pavement echoed as an expensive sports car came to a halt in front of a magnificent mansion. The residence was a sight to behold, reminiscent of the homes of nobility. Painted in shades of blue and white, the mansion boasted an expansive open space that enhanced its grandeur.

This was one of the three finest villas in Dragon City, where Arthur and his family resided. Known for its prestigious business district and esteemed academy, Dragon City was a hub of activity.

Arthur parked his car beside several others and stepped out, making his way toward the gate, which swung open as if anticipating his arrival. A housemaid welcomed him with a warm smile, and he nodded in acknowledgment. The staff was exclusively female; his mother preferred it that way, having hired only women and dismissing all male workers.

"Is everyone at home?" Arthur inquired.

The maid quickly replied, "No, sir. Young Miss Alice just returned from school. Miss Lucy went for a haircut, and Miss Rose and Madam Sophia are on their way."

As he walked through the mansion, he spotted a fourteen-year-old girl sitting on the couch, indulging in ice cream. With her black hair and striking black eyes, she stood at 5'4" and had a slim figure. Dressed in a blue skirt and a white shirt, she looked up just as Arthur entered.

Her face brightened, and she leapt from the couch into his arms. "Big brother, you're finally here!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with joy.

Arthur caught her effortlessly, chuckling as he asked, "Why haven't you changed out of your school uniform yet?"

She snuggled against him, rubbing her face on his chest. "I wanted to eat ice cream first," she replied, her words muffled.

Just then, a woman emerged from the kitchen. She had stunning blonde hair and an exceptionally beautiful face, complemented by a well-maintained figure. A mole rested on her left chin, and though she appeared to be in her thirties, that was far from the truth. Dressed in a yellow T-shirt and blue jeans, she wore an apron that hinted at her culinary endeavors.

Upon seeing the siblings embracing in the hallway, her smile widened as she approached them. She wrapped her arms around both Arthur and Alice, pulling them close. "Aww... you finally returned," she cooed.

Alice pouted playfully, "Mom, I was first! Why did you pull me away from brother?"

Arthur could smell the faint scent of lavender emanating from her. She must have just showered, he thought as he gently pulled away. "Mom, I'm not a child anymore."

Their mother, Vanessa, was the heart of the family—a beloved figure everyone cherished and listened to. Even with a team of chefs, she took pride in cooking for her family.

Feigning sadness at her children's complaints, Vanessa pouted dramatically. "No one loves me anymore!" she lamented.

Both siblings exchanged deadpan expressions, unfazed by her antics. Sensing her ploy was failing, she stuck out her tongue and exclaimed, "Hahahahaha, don't sweat it!"

She then planted a quick kiss on Arthur's lips and one on Alice's cheek. It was a routine no one ever objected to.

"Now, go freshen up. I'll call you when dinner is ready," she instructed, her tone shifting to one of authority.

Arthur and Alice nodded obediently before making their way to their respective rooms. Vanessa returned to the kitchen, ready to prepare the evening meal.

~Scene Change~

Arthur decided to hit the gym before taking a shower. He slipped into his workout clothes and headed down to the basement.

Yes, they had their own gym. Arthur had always valued staying in shape, a habit he maintained even in his previous life. In this world, his physique was exceptionally handsome—better than before, though he hesitated to admit it. He worked out to stay fit, achieving a well-defined body without excessive bulk.

He possessed a perfect Greek god physique, a result he found puzzling. He didn't adhere to rigorous workouts or strict diets, yet he appreciated the outcome. Whoever was responsible for this blessing, he silently thanked them.

In addition to fitness, he studied martial arts, starting his training at the age of ten. His father had instilled in him the importance of self-defense, believing that a man must know how to protect himself and his loved ones.

Arthur was proficient with firearms as well, having learned from his father, who had playfully remarked, "A man's love lies in these toys." Arthur agreed wholeheartedly.

By now, he could be considered a well-trained soldier, thanks to the expertise of his trainers. However, his greatest asset lay not in his physical abilities but in his intellect.

Arthur's IQ was exceptionally high; he sometimes fancied himself superior to Tony Stark.

This intelligence enabled him to learn quickly, finishing his training ahead of schedule. He had delved into programming and various engineering disciplines, even working on his own projects—activities he found far more enjoyable than rigorous training.

After completing his workout, he decided it was time for a shower, eager to refresh himself before dinner.
