Chapter 1 - NEW FRIENDS

The alarm blared through the room, a sharp sound that sliced through the haze of sleep. Finn groaned, still half-dreaming, and fumbled to silence it. His hand reached out instinctively, slapping the snooze button with a lethargic motion. The blaring stopped, but his mind didn't register the time.

For a moment, he drifted between sleep and wakefulness, thoughts tangled in confusion. He was so comfortable, warm under the covers, his body pleading for just a few more minutes of rest. But then, like a bolt of lightning, reality hit him.

He shot up, wide awake now, eyes darting toward the window and the clock on the wall. The clock read 7:30 AM, and his shuttle to the space station was scheduled to depart in less than an hour. The SIA agent team had been waiting for him, and he was already late.

Panic set in. He jumped out of bed, quickly pulled on his black pants and high-tech boots, and scrambled to put on his black shirt. Grabbing his red long coat with the SIA emblem, he yanked it on, hardly paying attention to how messy his hair looked. The AI glasses—his father's old pair—were tossed hastily onto his face, and he grabbed his two prized guns, one belonging to his father and the other the one he'd received when selected.

No time for breakfast. No time for anything.

Running out of the apartment, he didn't even bother to check the time as he sprinted towards the airport. His heart pounded in his chest as he could only hope his team would forgive him for this incredibly late start.

As he reached the airport, he spotted his new team for the first time. His heart sank a little. They were already there—standing in front of a sleek, waiting transport ship.

First, there was the guy, grinning from ear to ear, practically bouncing with energy. He(Ozzy) was waving enthusiastically at finn, as though nothing was wrong. "Hey, you finally decided to show up, huh?"

The silver-haired girl ( Vera)stood beside an older man, arms folded, seemingly indifferent to the world around her. Her gaze remained steady, fixed on her own space, focused and absorbed, as if she existed in a realm entirely her own. Not once did she glance up or flinch; whatever had her attention held it firmly, leaving everything else in the background.

Lastly, the guy ( thane) with a serous look on his face, who was already tapping his foot impatiently, clearly irritated. "Great. We're going to be late now. Some first impression," he muttered under his breath, though loud enough for everyone to hear.

Finn, could feel the tension building. He wanted to explain, apologize, but before he could, mr captain—a calm, older figure with a steady gaze—stepped forward.

"Guys, get together. We will be working together from now on, and the sooner you become friends, the better," mr captain said, trying to cut through the awkwardness and get the group focused.

"Okay," came the dry, simultaneous response from everyone, each voice carrying a different tone.

Finn could feel the weight of the moment—he wasn't exactly welcomed with open arms, but he couldn't blame them. This wasn't how he had imagined starting out. Still, he couldn't help but smile. His journey as an SIA agent had officially begun.

As the group made their way toward the spaceship, Ozzy( the fun looking guy) suddenly stopped in his tracks, his eyes widening. With a dramatic flair, he threw his hands up and shouted, "Oh! We haven't introduced ourselves yet!"

The others paused, glancing back at him with mixed reactions. Mr. Captain, their mentor, chuckled at Ozzy's over-the-top realization.

"All right, enough theatrics," he said, smirking. "Take a seat, Ozzy. We'll handle introductions once we're at the station. We're already running late."

With a slight pout but a playful glint in his eye, Ozzy nodded and headed inside, following Mr. Captain's order.

The group settled into their seats inside the ship. Mr. Captain took his place in the pilot's seat, his hands already moving over the controls, preparing for takeoff. Vera sat at the second captain's seat, her eyes glued to a holographic display, monitoring the ship's systems with the precision of a seasoned technician.

Meanwhile, the three young men sat in the back, awkwardly shifting in their seats. The silence stretched between them, and Finn couldn't help but glance around at his new teammates. Ozzy, ever the chatterbox, finally broke the silence

"So, uh... I guess this is where we start our big adventure, huh?" Ozzy said with a grin, looking at Thane and Finn.

Thane shot him a sharp look, his expression serious. "Can it, Ozzy," he muttered, clearly not in the mood for small talk.

Ozzy, undeterred by the cold reception, leaned back in his seat, flashing Finn an exaggerated, mischievous grin. The young man next to him smiled nervously, unsure of what to say, but feeling the tension in the air.

Mr. Captain's voice came over the intercom, breaking the awkward silence. "Buckle up, we're heading to the space station. It's going to be a long ride."

The ship began to lift off, and the team left the planet behind, the atmosphere outside growing darker as they entered the vast expanse of space.
