Chapter 17 - Chapter 17

Zhao Chao: "Quick - run -"

The guard threw Zhao Chao into a corner. He hadn't eaten anything for days and didn't even have the strength to stand up. The Hu man's chest was covered in blood. He raised his long knife and rushed towards Zhao Chao again.

"Ah -" You Miao roared angrily and rushed up desperately.

Just as Zhao Chao was about to be chopped in half by the Hu knife, You Miao hugged the Hu man's legs!

The Hu man was immediately dragged to the ground. The Hu man turned around and kicked You Miao's neck hard. You Miao vomited loudly, but held his foot tightly. Zhao Chao convulsed in the corner, got up with difficulty, and grabbed around with one hand.

The Hu man kicked You Miao in the face for the second time, and You Miao's eyes went black. The third kick kicked You Miao in the chest. You Miao had only one thought - I'm going to die, and I can't let go.

You Miao was holding on with just one breath. At this moment, Zhao Chao touched a stone, grabbed it and rushed over, smashing it into the Hu man's face without even looking. The Hu man guard tried to struggle to get up, but his right

hand holding the knife was held down by Zhao Chao. Zhao Chao smashed it hard, and the Hu man twitched. He smashed it again. Zhao Chao grabbed the dagger exposed on his chest and twisted it hard again. The Hu man roared before his death and kicked wildly, almost killing You Miao.

The stone was smashed down, raised, smashed down again, and raised again. The Hu man did not move.

Zhao Chao continued to smash it hard, smashing it more than ten times in a row. The Hu man did not move, his eyeballs popped out, and his brains hung outside his face and fell down. The ground was covered with blood and mixed with pink brains.

You Miao lay on the ground, his head buzzing, and his stomach was churning.

Zhao Chao picked him up, shouted anxiously in his ear, and slapped his face. You Miao tried his best to open his eyes. The distant voice gradually came back, sometimes close and sometimes far in his ears, floating back and forth.

"I didn't eat." Zhao Chao said: "I don't have the strength..."

You Miao: "Are you dead..."

Zhao Chao: "You can't be deader..."

Both of them were covered in blood. Zhao Chao pulled out a dagger and said: "Go... go..."

You Miao: "I can't do it... you run..."

"Can't die here!"

Zhao Chao shouted in his ear.

You Miao regained some strength and was helped up by Zhao Chao. The two stumbled, pushed open the door, and fell in the snow.

There was no one outside. There were several corpses of Hu people lying by the fire in the distance. The world was peaceful and quiet. Zhao Chao ate a few mouthfuls of snow and got up again, half holding You Miao. The two were dizzy and ran out of the village without knowing the direction. They fell and got up several times on the way. Zhao Chao always put his arm under You Miao's ribs and dragged him to escape.

You Miao: "Why is there no one here?"

Zhao Chao: "I don't know... maybe they were killed by the soldiers... we have to find a horse..."

The two fled to the village entrance. There was a roar outside, followed by a feather arrow flying. Zhao Chao suddenly threw You Miao to the ground and protected him. Two Hu people behind him shouted and chased after him with long swords in their hands.

"Don't look..." Zhao Chao used his body to protect You Miao.

You Miao lay in the snow, with a coldness in front of him, but he could feel Zhao Chao's heartbeat on his back.

"Are you going to die..." You Miao asked.

Zhao Chao did not speak.

However, the sound in the distance stopped abruptly. A feather arrow flew across and pierced the chest of the Hu man in front of him, with a burst of blood passing through, and then shot the neck of the pursuer behind him. The two pursuers, one in front and one behind, screamed at the same time and fell in the snow.

Zhao Chao couldn't help panting and pulled You Miao up.

A young man jumped over the snow pile at the entrance of the village, and shot two more pursuers who were approaching.

"Don't be afraid, it's reinforcements!" Zhao Chao said.

You Miao staggered to his feet, his eyelids so swollen that he could hardly open them. Zhao Chao was half a head taller than You Miao, standing in front of him. You Miao looked out from his shoulder and saw a tall figure.

The man wore a gray wolf fur coat on his upper body, a steel scaled battle skirt on his lower body, scaled armor combat boots on his feet, and a quiver on his back. He drew arrows, bent the bow, put arrows on it, and released the string. His movements were done in one go, as fast as lightning, and the Hu people coming from all directions were shot to the ground.

Man: "Go!"

"Li Zhifeng?" You Miao shouted.

Li Zhifeng turned his head to look at him, shot arrows and retreated, covering the two of them to bypass the snow pile. You Miao recognized him with difficulty from a gap in his vision, opened his mouth, but could not make a sound.

Another man's voice came from a distance: "Let's kill them from here!"

Li Zhifeng shouted: "The people have already escaped!"

"Leave now!"

"Their main force will soon find us!"

"Get on your horses!"

"Master Zhao!"

Zhao Chao came back to his senses and shouted: "Lin Fei!"

A general rushed over, knelt on one knee, and said quickly: "I am Lin Fei, the captain of Yanbian City..."

Zhao Chao immediately said: "Now is not the time to talk! Go!"

The warhorse neighed, Li Zhifeng shot down the last two enemies, turned around and carried You Miao onto the horse, turned over and jumped up, landed behind You Miao, and clamped his legs on the horse's belly.

"Gee--!"

A line of more than ten warhorses galloped, and You Miao felt dizzy. He never thought that it was Li Zhifeng who came to save him! He stretched out his hand and hugged Li Zhifeng's neck. The cold wind was biting. Li Zhifeng untied his wolf fur coat and wrapped You Miao tightly in his arms. He lowered his head and kissed his forehead in the bumps.

Zhao Chao shouted from a distance: "An enemy is chasing us! What's your name!"

Lin Fei replied: "He is a Quanrong! He is the servant of Master You! He came to report! Let us go out of the city to chase!"

"There are too many people on the other side!" someone shouted.

The group talked loudly on the galloping warhorses, but Li Zhifeng did not say a word. You Miao said tiredly: "Why are you back?"

The wind and snow around them were like nothing, and the snowflakes gently fell on them. Li Zhifeng answered him in a low voice.

"I miss you."

Feather arrows flew like raindrops, and the voices of the Hu people came in the wind. Lin Fei shouted, "Be careful of the arrows! We will be caught up!"

The Hu people team chased them, and Zhao Chao shouted, "Run separately! All run separately!"

Lin Fei said, "Escape to the north! Enter Yanbian!"

Li Zhifeng groaned.

Zhao Chao shouted, "Let's lead them away! Quanrong people! You take him to the south! Go to the official road! It will be safe once you enter Liangzhou!"

Li Zhifeng's warhorse turned a corner, and You Miao looked out from his fur coat and saw Zhao Chao. Lin Fei led a group of soldiers to lead away hundreds of Hu people, and Zhao Chao's voice came to his ears.

"You Miao! Take care!"

Li Zhifeng rode his horse and led You Miao into a forest from the west, turned a few corners, and rushed out from the south, rushed onto the official road, and ran all the way in the vast wind and snow. The pursuers gradually went away and were left behind without a trace.
