Anastacia's Pov
"Umm… I'm so sorry sir, I'll get the room ready in just a jiffy" I plead with the figure in front of me
"Wait till your boss finds out how you sleep on duty" He says
"You're not going to do that to me" I say, somewhat confident
"Oh!" He says shocked
"Now, how did you find me Mr Bruce Williams?" I ask
"Well, I just happened to lodge in this hostel and here you are" He replies
"For the 10 years of my life that I've been working here, I've never ever come across your face, so how come you magically appear in my house and my workplace today?" I ask, confused
"Let's say…. Fate" he winks and I stare at him blankly
"Fate?" I giggle
"Yea, fate, now if you don't mind, I actually want to lay in bed" he says, pushing me carefully to the side and walking into the room. He giggles a little and I wonder why
"What?" I try to put up a hard font and still seem respectful.
"I mean… you actually did have a nice sleep, I'm not sure you even did any work" he giggles and his facial features align in an angelic way as his lips curve into a smile.
Sophia is right, he is actually so handsome.
"Well, I'm going to get to work now, how about I call you when I'm done?" I smile, trying to look convincing.
"Umm, we're getting married soon, so I'll just stay here till you're done" he says, sitting in the lounge.
"Ummm….. we're not getting married soon but sure, suit yourself" I sigh, angry at the thought of getting married without fulfilling my life dreams.
I take the sheets off the bed and put it in a basket that was provided on the cart for them and I place the new bedsheet on the bed.
Trying to place it on the king sized bed gets frustrating as I take glances at Bruce, hoping he was going to help, but he was more invested in his phone.
I finally maneuver my way with the bed and it looks presentable. I grab my floor utensils and work my way with the floor.
"I need to dust the lounge now" I say calmly to Bruce who is still invested in his phone
He takes a glance at me "Get my things from the reception thereafter" is the only thing he says as he moves over to the bed and lays down.
"Sure" I sigh, but it comes out as a whisper.
I dust the chairs and I open the windows, letting the ray of sunshine come into the room.
"Shut it" he scowls like a three year old and it makes me slightly giggle, and I do so.
After I'm done cleaning the room, I make my way to the bathroom, which seems perfectly clean to me.
I lock the door and seat on the floor for a moment, accepting the calm and peace that comes with the quietness.
I take a look around and for some reason, I get emotional….. it just comes and goes.
"What if he really takes me? What do I do? Where and When did my father even meet him, how did they come about with the plan to get married to me?" I think to myself and the tears flow freely, this time, there's nothing and no one here to make me hide myself.
The part of myself I hide so well from the world.
There is a soft knock on the door that pulls me back to reality.
"I'm cleaning" I say, standing up hurriedly and wiping off my tears.
"You've been there for up to thirty minutes, are you falling asleep again?" He asks from the other side of the door.
"Haha funny" I say to myself at his dry ass joke
"I'm cleaning sir, please allow me, I need to get a good review from you" I say loud enough for him to hear me.
"Okay" he says and I quickly move over to the toilet area to give it a quick wash.
"Don't get too close, it's dark inside, it's where...." I sing and go on washing.
I finish up with the bathroom and leave. "I'm done now sir, I hope you enjoy your stay here in this hotel, don't forget to leave a review" I smile at him and arrange my utensils on my cart.
"Here" he says, holding a hundred dollar note in his hand.
"What for?" I ask confused, as my brows turn into a frown.
"I thought I was meant to leave a tip" he says nonchalantly
"Umm…. Leave a good review too" I smile, taking the money from his hands.
I would've loved to give that impression that I don't need the money, but of course I do, I need it and it's going to be of help, at least I could place it into my savings too.
"Don't forget to get my things from the receptionist" he says calmly, looking up from his phone.
"Okay, I'll tell them to bring your things for you sir" I address
"Not them, you" he says and goes back to looking at his phone.
I stare at him, my expression is blank.
I leave the room and walk into the elevator as it takes me to the lower floor. I place the items on my cart in their respective areas and decide to wash my face quickly before heading to the reception to get his things.
I look into the mirror and decide to do a mini section of affirmation.
"You got this girl" I say to my reflection in the mirror and head to the reception.
"Hello good afternoon, I'm here to pick up Mr Bruce Williams luggage" I say to Esther, the receptionist
"Oh hey…. His suitcase is over there" Esther replies smiling
"Suitcase?" I say in shock
"Yes, I know right, this Rick folks pay for a room and say they just want a peaceful place so the could get their work done, it's almost scary" Esther says, loud enough for just me to hear
"That man screams of money! Fuck" I say to Esther
Esther and I have been working together for the last four years and she is still one of the best people I've ever worked with here.
"Girl! His aura is everything, so ruthless but yet so charming" Esther says
"Girl, no way!" I exclaim with a smirk when the realization dawns on me that I might actually be getting married to this man.
"Let me give him his suitcase before he gives me a bad review" I add before walking away.
I get to his room and I knock on the door as I await his answer.
The door opens revealing him and he walks away, leaving me at the door with his suitcase.
I took it as my cue to walk into the room, and I shut the door behind me. For some reason, I didn't think he was going to try and harm me.
"Here you go" I say, handing over the suitcase to him.
"Get your things ready, you're going home with me, I'll pick you up" he says, collecting the suitcase from my hand with no expression written on his face
