The year is 1998 in the city of Dusk Haven and a young Richard Martinez is doing a recon mission for the League of Shadows his mission was to assassinate the leagues top priority a young woman named Natalie Simons, Natalie was an elusive target always switching names and moving to undisclosed locations, but this time Richard was ready the league knew he was the right person for the job he only had one chance he would move in close from behind her and with a quick movement of his hands her head would be on the floor but yet why did he feel so nervous "It's only a mission like usual" he thought to himself but there was something different about this mission the last time he came in contact with Natalie she had gave him a note that read "See you next time handsome" it set off a feeling he had not known before Richard didn't realize he was getting closer to Natalie he shoved the thought deep down as Richard reached into his jacket he pulled his hood over his face his mentor had always told him that discretion is the way of the League and now that he was out in the field for a first time in a while he had a chance to prove he is a valuable asset for the League Richard grabbed the dagger in his jacket issued to him by his mentor upon completing his trials and training it was more than just a weapon it was a symbol that he was tied to the League forever he found himself staring at the daggers insignia the symbol of the League a demons head with two katanas crossing each other every League member had it branded on their arms to remind them that they owe their loyalty and devotion to the League of Shadows But as Richard looked up he saw that Natalie was staring directly at him as she stares at the dagger and right back at him he started sweating staring into her cold light blue eyes that always had that spark he admired and then that feeling was coming back to him but it was stronger than before and this time he couldn't just ignore it "So are you just going to stand there or are you going to explain why you have an oversized kitchen knife out while in that tacky outfit" Natalie had said with a blank expression on her face Richard found it hard to know when she was serious or sarcastic but as he tried to come up with an excuse he found himself only stuttering "I-I-I-" as he got embarrassed only more around Natalie she leaned in and kissed him as Richard's feeling of embarrassment and shame was forgotten in that one moment nothing else mattered but Natalie as Natalie pulled away from him Richard realized that Natalie had slipped a note in his pocket as she had walked off as he had forgotten his mission when Richard reaches for the note he opens it as it read "Same time tomorrow night?" and there was that same feeling but with a hint of embarrassment As time went on Richard and Natalie started meeting up more and more as both eventually gaining feelings for one another as Natalie persuades Richard to leave the League as they both leave behind their demons in the past as they start a family they have 2 sons and a daughter the oldest son named Angel the youngest son named Mason and the daughter named Nia for a time Richard and Natalie were happy everything seemed fine but somehow life always finds a way to end that happiness as the past seemed to catch up to Richard and his family paid the price
