Emily felt the carriage stop and soon the knight in front of her dragged her out. The sun was shining bright above her head and soon she recognised the place.
Fort Ravenwood was known for their cruel treatment towards their prisoners. Emily was not sure why she was being charged for such actions she has not done.
In front of her stood a broad man with a scar across his face. The knight who dragged her soon left and the broad man in front of her spoke.
"Emily, age 20. You have been brought here due to your crimes against your own people. You will be executed next week for manslaughter."
"I haven't done such thing! It was the Winterbornes who have done such actions! Why am I, a victim of the event getting executed for their actions?!"
The broad man showed a cruel smile and stood closer to Emily.
"Do you think we don't know that? I know that you grew up on the island of Lufu but I haven't thought you would be this dumb. You see, my motivation is money, and who do you think payed me?"
Laughing the man sat down on his chair and drank from his cup.
"You see, your face was plastered all across the world for a hefty price of 100 gold. I was lucky that one of my people found you sleeping in the forest. If I bring your head to the Winterbornes then all that money? Is mine... All mine!"
Emily's face scrunched with disgust at the man's greed. She could not believe how greedy a person could be.
Soon she was dragged out by the same knight and into the fort. She walked down the brick stairs and into the dungeon of the fort. She was chained and was told to wait her beheading.
Tears began to form around her eyes. She cannot die like this but at this moment, crying was all she could do.
That night, Emily prayed to the Goddess of love, Lufu to save her from the trials she was facing as that was all she could do in the moment.
