"You really dare to say that!" The young man in yellow trousers was momentarily stunned before looking at Kai's Jolteon with admiration. "So, you like Jolteon too? I never expected to meet someone with the same taste as me! Oh, right, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Sparky, and I'm the owner of this manor. These two are my younger brothers, Rainer and Pyro."

Rainer, who had blue hair and blue trousers, and Pyro, with red hair and red trousers, extended their hands to Kai.

"Nice to meet you," Kai said, shaking their hands one by one. "My name is Kai. It's a pleasure to meet you all."

If one observed carefully, it wasn't hard to notice that not only did the brothers wear trousers matching the colours of their Eeveelutions, but even their hair colour and style resembled their Pokémon!

It was evident that their love for Eevee and its evolutions ran deep so deep it influenced their entire appearance.

"You said your Jolteon is the strongest?" Pyro, fiery and bold compared to his brothers, challenged him immediately. "That's a bold claim! How about we battle to prove it?"

Before Kai could reply, Rainer stepped forward.

"As the elder brother, I should go first!" Rainer declared, turning to Kai. "Even though my Vaporeon has a type disadvantage, I won't back down!"

"I don't mind," Kai replied, glancing around. He noticed the manor's spacious courtyard, filled with visiting trainers whose attention was now focused on their conversation. "But are we battling here? This doesn't look like an official battlefield."

"Of course not," Sparky interjected, stepping between them. "There's a battle facility behind the courtyard. However, there's no rush. Let's invite our guests inside to rest first."

"Indeed," Rainer agreed. "Stopping a guest at the door is hardly proper hospitality."

Following the three brothers, Kai entered the manor.

Inside the grand hall, dozens of trainers were enjoying a lavish buffet, chatting amicably.

The atmosphere was lighthearted, and Pokémon wandered around freely some playing, some misbehaving, but all visibly content.

Sparky turned to Kai. "We have a few matters to attend to. Someone will show you to your room shortly. Please make yourself at home."

As the brothers departed, Kai grabbed a quick bite. While exploring, he noticed the three siblings in the courtyard, carrying evolutionary stones. It seemed they were preparing to help Pokémon evolve.

Their generosity left Kai with nothing but admiration.

Noticing Kai's curiosity, a nearby trainer smiled and commented, "Sparky, Rainer, and Pyro are genuinely kind people. Thanks to their generosity, trainers flock here every week for help with Pokémon evolution. Even my Poliwhirl evolved into Poliwrath with Rainer's help and his Water Stone."

Kai nodded, impressed. "That's truly remarkable."

Reflecting on himself, Kai admitted he could never be as selfless as they were.

Soon after, Sparky and the others returned, this time accompanied by a young boy about five or six years old.

The boy held an Eevee in his arms, dressed in simple clothes that contrasted with the flashy outfits of the brothers.

Sparky introduced him. "This is our youngest brother, Mikey. He and his Eevee wanted to watch the battle."

"I didn't!" Mikey protested, his face flushing red. "You guys told me to watch so I can decide what Eevee should evolve into!"

'Mikey? The name sounded oddly familiar.' Noticing Kai's expression, Sparky asked, "Is something wrong?"

Kai shook his head with a smile. "Nothing. It's just that I once knew a kid named Mikey. His surname was Ketchum, and he had a trusty partner by his side. Together, they overcame countless challenges and battles."

"Really?" Mikey's eyes lit up. "Can you introduce him to me?"

Kai shook his head. "Unfortunately, I haven't seen him since I was a child."

"That's a shame," Mikey sighed, visibly disappointed.

By then, the group had reached the backyard. As promised, the garden featured a well-equipped battlefield, complete with areas of water, rocky terrain, and grass patches.

It was a versatile arena designed to test a Pokémon's adaptability.

Hearing about the battle, other trainers gathered, cheering for the popular trio of brothers.

Sparky stepped into the centre of the field as the referee. "The rules are simple: you can only use Eevee or its evolutions. Are both sides ready?"

Kai walked to the challenger's side, gesturing for his Jolteon to take the field.

"Who's going first?" he asked.

Rainer and Pyro exchanged looks before Rainer stepped forward. "As the elder brother, I'll start."

Pyro grumbled but moved to the sidelines.

Rainer's Vaporeon leaped onto the field, facing Kai's Jolteon. Although both were evolved from Eevee, their appearances couldn't have been more different.

Vaporeon's sleek, blue body, fin-like ears, and mermaid-like tail contrasted sharply with Jolteon's spiky yellow fur and sharp features.

Sparky raised his hand. "Battle start!"

"Vaporeon, use Water Gun!" Rainer commanded.

A powerful stream of water shot from Vaporeon's mouth.

"Jolteon, counter with Thunder Shock!" Kai shouted.

Electricity sparked from Jolteon, travelling along the water stream and hitting Vaporeon head-on.

Though the moves clashed, the type disadvantage left Vaporeon at a clear loss.

"Jolteon, use Quick Attack!" Kai ordered.

"Vaporeon, counter with Quick Attack as well!" Rainer called out.

Both Pokémon dashed toward each other, but Jolteon's superior speed gave it the edge. Jolteon struck Vaporeon first, sending it tumbling into a nearby pool.

As Vaporeon hit the water, it vanished beneath the surface.
