Chapter 8 - Chapter seven : Echoes of fate

Malar

As I ran through the streets of Forevemore, my heart raced at the thought of losing Asvlumina. I can't lose her after everything we've been through. The streets were stained with blood, cracks running through the pavement, and the air smelled of burnt wood and lingering ash from the destruction that had almost taken Asvlumina's life.

As I ran down the street I heard the sound of three familiar voices. Shadowy figures appeared, and I recognized them: a blond-haired man with purple eyes named Leyon Dyrelis, a man with a similar appearance beside him named Layon Dyrelis, and a man with curling black hair and green eyes named Arelic Dyrelis.

"Look what we have here," Leyon sneered. "We heard there was something happening, so we rushed over, but we didn't expect to see our long-lost junior brother again."

Arelic grinned. "I'm sure he's been waiting to see us again," he mocked.

My heart pounded in my chest. I don't have time for this, I thought. My mind was racing, and I knew I had to act fast.

Meanwhile, in the House..

Lumina

Asvlumina lay on a table in the center of the house. Keiran paced back and forth, anxiety written across his face. Lumina and Jack sat on the stairs, watching him, while Lyrie stood nearby, her posture tense. Verena sat next to Lumina, her thoughts a whirlwind.

How did this happen? My visions never lied. I saw Malar die, so why is Asvlumina the one about to die? Was my vision wrong? Have all my visions been wrong? The thoughts raced through Lumina's head.

Verena hugged him gently, resting her hand on his head. "It's going to be fine," she reassured him.

Keiran continued pacing, but as Asvlumina's entire hand began turn green, he muttered, "I'm going."

Lumina stood up, his voice urgent. "Where are you going?"

Keiran turned back to him, determination in his eyes. "What do you think? I'm going after Malar."

"But he said to stay here until he comes back," Lumina protested.

"I know," Keiran said, his voice tight. "But if your vision proves to be true, we'll lose both Malar and Asvlumina. He might be rude to us, but everything he's taught us, everything I've learned from him, I can't just let him die. I can't let Asvlumina die either. What they've done for us, no one else would have. I owe them, and I won't let them die."

Lumina looked at Keiran, his heart heavy with guilt. "Maybe you can, since you're used to seeing people die already."

Jack and Lyrie watched the exchange in silence.

"I wonder what he meant by 'vision,'" Jack murmured, curious.

Lyrie raised an eyebrow. "Do you think it's from one of those traitors?" she asked.

"I don't know, but let's find out," Jack said, standing up.

Verena's voice broke through. "Keiran, watch what you say!" she shouted.

In the heat of the argument, Lumina walked up to Keiran and punched him in the face. Keiran reacted instantly, tackling Lumina to the ground and pinning him there, starting to punch him. Verena tried to intervene, pulling Keiran off Lumina, but in the struggle, Keiran accidentally punched her, sending her to the floor.

Verena got up, fury in her eyes, and slapped Keiran across the face, ending the fight. "Enough! He's your brother, stop fighting him!"

She turned to Lumina. "Are you alright? I hope you're not hurt."

Lumina nodded, still shaken. Verena turned back to Keiran. "That's enough. He's your brother. Stop fighting with him."

Just then, the door opened, and a mysterious figure entered the room. A man wearing a mask covered his face. He revealed himself to be Aeran Darnyx Delyric.

Jack sprang to his feet, summoning a green light that formed into a sword. "What are you doing here, traitor?" he demanded, pointing the sword at Aeran.

Aeran ignored the threat and walked toward Asvlumina. "Put your sword down," he said calmly, pulling out a strange plant.

Lyrie drew a small sword of her own, pointing it at Aeran. "Move away," she said harshly.

Aeran remained unphased. "This is the Scartic Vera. If you want Asvlumina to live, you'll lower your sword. If you don't believe me, then kill me right now."

Lyrie hesitated but then lowered her sword. "Smart decision," she muttered.

Aeran moved toward Asvlumina, who was still unconscious. Half of her body had turned green. He placed his hand on her, muttering to himself. "My little troublemaker, always looking for trouble." He placed the plant down and began cutting its yellowish leaves, revealing a red flower on top and a green stem. He put the leaves on Asvlumina's injuries, and slowly, her skin began to return to normal.

"Aeran..." Lumina's voice was shaky as he heard his name called. He turned to face Aeran, who stood by Asvlumina.

Malar's name was on his lips when Aeran spoke again. "Malar is not coming back."

The words struck me like a physical blow. Shock, confusion, and grief all hit me at once.

Meanwhile, in the Streets of Forevemore...

Keiran

I ran through the streets, determined to find Malar. But as I ran, As I bumped into someone, muttered an apology, and continued my sprint. Just then, my vision began to blur, which led me to stumble and fall to the ground.

A strange man appeared, wearing a lion mask, and lifted me effortlessly. Without a word, he carried me away, disappearing into the shadows.

Verena arrived moments later, calling out for me. "Keiran! Keiran!" She stopped, confused, as a man bumped past her, she stumbled slightly."Sorry," he said briefly before continuing on his way.

Verena stared at the man, a sense of familiarity tugging at her. "Have I seen him before?" she wondered aloud.

She turned to look for me, but I was gone. "Keiran! Keiran!" she shouted, but there was no reply.

That was the last thing I heard before I faded into the darkness

___

Meanwhile, malar surrounded by his brother as the memories of their torment returned—mocking laughter, whispered insults, endless pain. I had no power then, and even now, I wasn't sure I could win against them.

"What's going on here?"

The mocking stopped as Marlic Dyrelis stepped forward. His presence was commanding, his voice steady. He had always been different, but not in the way I'd hoped.

"The first time I saw you, I wondered how someone like you could be my brother," Marlic said coldly. "Then I learned the truth. Our parents hid you because you were powerless. If I were them, I would have done the same."

His words were a blade, cutting deep.

"They made a mistake keeping you alive," he continued. "But it's not too late to fix that mistake."

He snapped his fingers, and a massive shockwave rippled through the air. The force threw me off my feet, and I crashed through a building. Pain exploded in my body as I hit the ground.

As my vision blurred, I whispered, "Asvlumina... I will save you." Darkness swallowed me whole.
