Banou and Aylin begin to pack their belongings. Li Xing come running after school. He cry when he hear the news at the main door. Banou ensure him, they are going to meet as and when they are able to.
That evening, she continue to write her letter to her son. Now the path is set, she will know what to do. Li Cheng is still confused and he tried to talk to his brother. Li Jun, drink in sadness that he girl he falls for is leaving him soon. While Consort Wu wonders if she have done the right thing. She feels guilty to hurt Li Jun whom she grows up with. However if she divorce him, her clan will decline in power and probability they will all blame it on her. Li Ping did not understand what the fuss is all about. She just don't like to see Li Xing becoming depress. She allows him to lay on her tights while she comb his long hair. After that she sings an off key song which she thinks that Li Xing enjoys to hear.
Three days later, Demir comes to pick up Banou and Aylin. Banou have ask Aylin if she wants to stay behind for Ah Mu. Aylin insist to follow Banou. She said she will later tell Banou the reason why. Together, they ride off the carriage. Only Consort Wu send them off. Consort Wu sigh as the carriage move away in the busy street. The family is now broken up.
Demir brings Banou and Aylin to a mansion . Outside it's a Chinese building but inside is fill with Persian items. Mehmet had send over some of his Persian valuables to decorate the mansion. Demir estimate he needs to stay at least another nine months to a year in Tang. Banou is given the biggest room in the mansion however she choose to stay with Aylin in a servant's room. Banou give an excuse that she have been living in a small room all her life. She isn't used to a big room by herself. The food they had are all cook by Persian cooks that Demir employed during the years he had travelled outside of Persian. Even though inside the mansion is alike Persian outside, the Great Tang street is where she enjoy most. Everyday, she dress up and go to the street near the school where LI Xing is schooling at. She wait everyday at the restaurant. They have lunch together with Li An And Li Gou. Sometime Li Ping joins them. Banou is enjoying her freedom as a person but she dislike the security following her.
A week later, in the night, Li Jun is found sleeping on the main door. The guards inform Demir. Banou happen to overhear this. Asked the guards to move him to a guest room. While another to inform the Prince Mansion that he is staying here over night. Banou take care of him throughout the night. She remember the days he get drunk is those things that trouble him. Her engagement to Li Cheng have bother him so much that he drinks day and night. In the morning, Banou find him still asleep and she get up to walk away. However he grab her arm
"Don't go Ban Nu." He whisper. Banou sits down again and sigh.
"If you are awake, you should go back to your mansion."
"I don't want to go back when you are not there."
Demir comes into the room and bow to both of them.
"Your highness, Prince Jun. Your carriage is already for you to bring you back to your mansion."
He see that Li Jun is still laying on the bed and refused to move. While Banou looks at him hopelessly. Demir takes a deep breath.
"You highness, Prince Jun, you are now not the man that Princess Banou is engaged to. Please leave the mansion so that there won't be rumours .The face and pride of royalty for both countries will be safe."
For awhile he lay on the bed. Banou can see that he haven't been shaving for the past few days. He looks older and tired. Suddenly he sits up and swing his long legs over the bed. He stand up and dust his garments. He walk out of the door with his hands behind him. Demir look at Banou bow and quickly catch up with Li Jun. Banou siting alone in the bedroom look at the messy bed. She sigh and wonder how is she going to talk into him about leaving her alone.
In the late evening, she hear from Aylin who is back from walking around the market. "Guess what i heard?"
Banou who is eating slowly look at Aylin. She put down her chopsticks.
"I heard Prince Jun is drunk again in the restaurant. He yelling at the top of his voice that Ban Nu is not married yet. He still have his chances."
Banou stare gravely at Aylin. Aylin suddenly realised that her princess is unhappy. She goes down on her knees. Banou shake her head and get up to help Aylin up.
"I am not angry with you. Why are you on your knees?"
"But ... but you look so angry."
"I am not just that Li Jun is not going to back off easily."
"Marrying him isn't a bad ideal."
"No just that. He is not the type who stays faithful to one woman. He must have many loves. He is now thinking that he loves me or i am just another woman he own..."
"What are you going to do about it?"
"I maybe have to visit Consort Wu ... on this."
Banou picks up her chopstick and continue to have dinner.
The next morning, Banou find Li Jun at her main door. The passerby are looking at them. Standing there with flowers that she loves, he looks clean shaved with a smile on his face. With one hand he place the flowers to her. "For you." At that moment, Banou see a youthful man with love in his eyes. She feels sad that she is going to break his heart.
