Cesare, wary of getting wet, hesitated to step back, merely tilting his head slightly to the side.
“Misunderstanding?”
Instead, Zahir’s face came closer, his dark eyes looking up at Cesare from beneath.
“Misunderstanding that maybe you’re actually very interested in ME.”
“Zahir.”
“Didn’t I tell you? Don’t assume nothing will happen. I’ll seize any chance you give me.”
With those words, Zahir snatched the umbrella from Cesare’s hand.
Cesare, realizing too late what had happened, felt the cold rain on his head and noticed his umbrella lying far away.
As the rain quieted, only Zahir’s voice filled the air.
“Even this umbrella can’t stop me. I’m more than willing to stand in the rain.”
‘Damn, this wasn’t what I came out here for.’
By the time the thought crossed his mind, Zahir had already pulled Cesare closer, sealing their lips in a kiss.
The kiss was sudden, leaving a fleeting warmth as Zahir pulled away.
Rain soaked them, falling relentlessly around the empty space.
