Chereads / The Mana Beast of Oroz Kimberg / Chapter 16 - Wasted your time

Chapter 16 - Wasted your time

Oroz realizes that his world, his purpose, and everything he had fought for were illusions. The powers he had fought so hard to control were but fragments of something much larger, a game that extended beyond his perception.

The battle, once full of hope and courage, now seemed insignificant. His connection to the Mana Beasts, his enemies, and even Aqualis faded away like mist. He had lived many lives in one, fought battles, and grown into a leader, only to realize that it was all part of something he couldn't fully comprehend.

In the final moments, with the enemy closing in, Oroz found himself standing in a familiar place: a quiet, serene lake. The figure who had appeared so many times, that dark entity, stepped forward once more, its voice echoing in his mind.

"Did you truly believe you were in control, Oroz?" the figure asked, its voice calm yet filled with an undeniable authority. "You were never meant to be the one to awaken the Mana Beasts. You were simply a tool."

Everything fell away as Oroz collapsed to his knees. His powers, his past, and his future—all were an illusion, pieces in a puzzle that had no answers. With one final breath, the world around him shattered, and he woke up, back in his original world.

A normal teenager named Zoro, once lost in fantasy novels and daydreams, now faced the real world, his adventures nothing but memories of a life that had never truly been his. As he stood in the bathroom, staring into the mirror, the realization struck him: perhaps his story was only just beginning.

And so, Zoro, fresh out of his bizarre fantasy-induced coma, found himself stumbling through life like a character straight out of a shonen manga. The first day back to school? A disaster. He had no sense of direction, no plan, and absolutely no idea how to navigate his world. Instead of going to school, he somehow ended up in a dimly lit bar. Inside, the smell of alcohol and the muffled chatter of patrons greeted him.

There, amidst his confusion and frustration, he picked up three swords from a local weapons dealer. Why? Well, who needed a reason when you were Zoro, right? The swords felt heavy, but also oddly familiar—maybe because he was still clinging to the last remnants of his previous life's adventure. He wasn't sure why, but one thing was clear: the idea of finding the *One Piece* was now deeply ingrained in him. He had no map, no directions, and certainly no sailing skills. But did that matter? Not when you had three swords at your side and a dream that burned brighter than any sense of common sense.

He wasn't sure how he was going to get to the Grand Line, but he was going to try. After all, how hard could it be to just follow the vague whispers of a treasure hunt that sounded way too good to be true? Besides, destiny was probably waiting for him out there somewhere, just beyond the horizon.

With swords in hand and a head full of nonsensical courage, Zoro set off, looking for an adventure that might just be as crazy as the one he had left behind. The world didn't know it yet, but Zoro had just started his own wild journey.
