Chapter 79 - Chapter 79: What the Heck is a Young Master?

"Huff... huff..." Kneeling on the ground, Archer lay back in satisfaction.

"So this is the essence of the earth; I've lived my life well…"

After recalling his last Nidoking, Gary looked at the Electrode frozen solid by Ice Beam and felt que algo estaba mal.

"Um, so the assessment is over, right?" Gary asked tentatively.

"Yes, it's finished. Here's your badge." A nearby female instructor quickly ran over and shoved a red octagonal badge into Gary's hand.

Then she dragged Archer away like a dead dog...

Looking at the badge and then at the other candidates, who were enviously pale and colorless, Gary clicked his tongue. This just shows the difference in our styles.

With the badge in hand, Gary figured there was no need to linger any longer.

The dock at Cinnabar Island was still some distance away. He hopped on his Arcanine, cradling Togepi's egg in his arms, and left the identification center first. Boom!! A massive explosion sent thick black smoke billowing into the air. The center director, a muscular man named Raiden, looked seriously at the two before him.

Dressed impeccably in a suit and white skirt with meticulously styled hair, what stood out most were the red pins on their chests—the Team Rocket logo!

Sitting atop a Weezing, Archer whistled. "Not bad, Ariana! Did you see that? He managed to block one of my attacks."

Ariana crossed her arms and impatiently stared at Raiden, who stubbornly refused to fall. "The Pokémon here are gifts we prepared for Boss Giovanni. You'd better get out of the way!"

The exam candidates had long since fled, while several instructors lay disheveled behind Raiden.

Raiden looked at the Golbat and Weezing before him, feeling a tingling sensation on his scalp.

His Charizard had gone down after taking just two Air Slash attacks from Golbat; these two members of Team Rocket must have Elite-level strength!

"I won't let you do as you please. I advise you to escape quickly; the candidates who just left have definitely called for help. Miss Jenny will be here soon!" Raiden warned firmly.

"Oh? Still putting up a fight? What do you say, Nana? I say we take them out!" Archer grinned mischievously.

"Archer, are you crazy?" Ariana rolled her eyes. Why does this man love to put on a show so much?

Aside from Vicius (Iron Mask Marauder), the four Team Rocket generals only had Proton having killed.

Giovanni's principle is to seek wealth without taking lives!

"Alright then—Electrode! Use Thunderbolt to loosen his bones!" Archer shrugged helplessly.

I'm already looking this cool! Why haven't you fallen for me yet?

Ariana: ?_? Sorry, not into delusional youths...

"Ivysaur, use Solar Beam!" Raiden had only Ivysaur and Pikachu left as usable Pokémon; winning against Team Rocket's four generals with these two would be harder than cheating!

Smack! The charred Ivysaur also knelt down...

Electric types against Grass types—one hit KO—just shows how vast their level difference is!

"Hahaha... Keep barking! Do you see anyone coming to save you?" Archer laughed triumphantly.

"Flamethrower!"

Boom! A wave of intense flames surged from the direction of the entrance.

"Arbok! Use Dragon Tail!" Ariana waved her right hand, and Arbok charged toward the flames, swinging its blue energy-scaled tail at them.

Boom! The Flamethrower was dispersed as a man riding Arcanine reached Raiden's side.

"Who are you?" Raiden frowned at the newcomer.

"I'm just a passing trainer," Gary shrugged as he looked at Archer and Ariana.

With Arcanine and Eevee standing in front of him, Golduck and Electivire flanked him, while Charizard dominated the airspace, and Sneasel held Togepi's egg at the back.

Archer's eyes lit up; now that's a pro—capable of both offense and defense! This is a wild battle formation!

Compared to rigid battles, Team Rocket's four generals preferred chaotic skirmishes since they aimed for quick knockouts.

Moreover, Gary didn't stick to rigid one-on-one or two-on-two rules; facing an opponent who released three Pokémon, he came out with six ready to fight!

Archer nodded appreciatively; now that's what I'm talking about!

Ariana furrowed her brows; why did this little brat come back again? What a hassle—

"Hey! Kid…" Archer started casually.

Cough cough! Ariana cleared her throat twice.

"Uh—Gary, right? How did you find us?" Archer asked curiously.

Gary raised an eyebrow. "Sixth sense; you both give off a very strong vibe—the vibe of outlaws."

Ariana nodded slightly. "Indeed, an extraordinary insight."

Boss Giovanni said that anyone who harmed this kid would face dire consequences; Ariana didn't want to touch that bad luck.

Thus, the situation became tense for a moment.

Gary was sweating profusely; these were genuine Elite-level trainers. Dealing with one could flip things upside down; let alone two!

What an impulsive move! Thinking they were easy targets when they turned out to be two wild bosses...

Now he could only hold firm and see if he could scare them off; if not, he'd have to rely on Boss Giovanni's badge—surely it would be useful!

Cough cough, "You two had better retreat quickly! I'll tell you—I'm very close with the Elite Four!" Gary shouted confidently.

"Kid, you should leave quickly. The Elite Four are all stationed near Silver Mountain today; they won't make it here in time. You can't win against these two!" Raiden earnestly advised him.

Gary's eyes widened—what kind of pig teammate are you?!

Even Golduck rolled its eyes; looks like today they'd have to fight for their lives...

Unexpectedly, Ariana and Archer exchanged glances and immediately began their performance!

"What? The Elite Four? Oh no! We need to run!" Archer exaggeratedly shouted.

"Shut up! Let's go! Better safe than sorry!" Ariana blushed as she kicked Archer aside and took out a Poké Ball.

A Fearow appeared behind them as they jumped onto its back and flew away!

Did Raiden and the other instructors really scare them off?

Gary twitched his mouth—was their act too overdone? When did they go deaf...

"Um, young man… thank you for your timely intervention. I'll notify the police department about your commendation…" Raiden realized he had been foolish earlier and awkwardly smiled at Gary.

"No need for that; you should hurry up and inform the police instead. I'll be leaving now." Giving Raiden a disdainful look, Gary silently recalled his Pokémon.

Cradling Togepi, Gary mounted Charizard and flew away.

With Raiden's intelligence level, Gary genuinely feared catching something from him...

After leaving the identification center, Gary chose a spot near the port to land.

"Phew—finally at the port; it should be safe now." Sitting on a large stone by the roadside, Gary sighed profundamente.

Suddenly rustling sounds came from the bushes as a blue-haired head popped out cheerfully. "Hey there~ Young Master! Taking a break?"

Gary twitched his mouth again—what on earth is this "Young Master" nonsense!?
