CHAPTER 3
Following the head butler as they made their way to the living area, she's lost in her thoughts as the butler finally stops and stands by the side, she then sees a male figure sitting in the lounge, his aura intimidating. His golden brown hair shining under the lights of the chandelier, his sharp jawline and his well built body made him look like a model.
"Done starring?!." His voice came out, startling her.
"Uh, I wasn't…staring." She said in a low voice avoiding eye contact.
He doesn't debate any further and asks her to sit.
"Decided that fast? What's your answer?" He asked her out of nowhere.
She has been thinking about his proposal all the way from the shelter home to his manor and then she said
"I'll marry you but on one condition!" She said in a low yet firm voice.
"Uhm, what is it Miss!?" He asks curious about what will leave her mouth.
"I'LL NOT SHARE A BED WITH YOU!" She says a little louder this time but not shouting.
He chuckles seeing how fast she switched. "Weren't you the one who proposed that method of payback?." He said. And then agrees. "Then we have a deal." He says and then calls the head butler.
"Call the staff of the house! Now! let them be witnesses" He ordered. The head butler nodded and turned to inform one of the guards.
A few minutes later, the whole servitude arrives and they form a circle with him and Naveah at the center, with the poor girl confused about what was happening.
He then goes down on one knee, slides his hand in his pocket and brings out a diamond ring. He then proposes to her and slips the ring on her finger. And he then stands from where he was and dismisses the staff.
"I'll officially announce you as my fiance very soon" he says and she nods her head.
He then says that he has some urgent work to do and pecks her on her forehead before leaving for his study and asks not to be disturbed.
Naveah is still sitting on a sofa in the lounge still a bit shook by the events of the day.
The butler then led her to Nolan's room and asked her to get comfortable before leaving, and a few minutes later a maid came in with a tray of food and left right after leaving Naveah alone in the luxurious room.
Nevaeh started walking around the room, still in awe with its luxury appearance:
It was bathed in soft, golden light, exuded elegance and refinement. The walls, adorned with intricate cream-colored paneling that seemed to whisper tales of ancient grandeur. The velvet drapes, a deep shade of midnight blue, cascaded down the tall windows, framing the breathtaking view of the manicured gardens below.
A majestic king-sized bed, crafted from rich mahogany, stood as the room's centerpiece. The plush mattress was draped in the finest linens, embroidered with delicate silver thread. A canopy of sheer silk billowed above, its delicate folds shimmering like moonbeams.
To one side, a lavish sitting area beckoned, with plush armchairs and a velvet sofa in a deep, jewel-toned green. A crystal chandelier hung above, casting a kaleidoscope of colors across the room.
As night descended, the room transformed into a sanctuary of tranquility, bathed in the soft glow of table lamps and the silvery light of the moon.
This room was a haven, a sanctuary within the grand Manor.
After taking few more steps into the room, her eyes landed on a full length mirror, and her reflection flashed right out in front of her: her wavy long black hair that cascaded down her back were a mess, her white knee-length dress was all dirty, puffy eyes and red cheeks from all her crying, and she saw a bruise on her elbow and forehead, remembering being kicked out of the hotel.
She then decided to go to the bathroom to take a shower and clean herself up before getting something to eat. As she opened the door, the luxury bathroom features marble countertops, rainfall showerhead, freestanding tub, heated floors, designer fixtures, ambient lighting, and spacious vanity area, exuding opulence, serenity, and unparalleled relaxation.
She quickly took her shower and came out with a towel tied around a small figure and another one tied around her hair.
As she stood in front of that same mirror looking at the bruises on her hands and forehead heart sank when she remembered what had happened earlier in the afternoon, James' message, the humiliation, the anger all those emotions came rushing in, her heartbeat started increasing and tears were streaming uncontrollably down her face as she was fidgeting with her hands, as sweat started forming on her forehead, she started finding it harder and harder to breath, that was it her panic attacks came back. She started feeling dizzy and the next thing she knew someone came into the room, and next thing she knew she heard someone shout,
"NAVEAH!!!!" The person shouted and rushed to her and next she knew everything went blank.
NAVEAH'S POV
I opened my eyes and I was greeted with a dark unfamiliar surrounding, they were no lights, as I stood to my feet, trying to walk and find a way out of they and then I started screaming
"Hello??!... Is anyone here??!... Help please Help??!" I said as fear gripped my stomach.
And then a white light came out of nowhere blinding me in the process. I rushed my hands to cover my face before letting my eyes adjust to the amount of light.
As soon as I removed my hands from my eyes I found myself in a car. Wait… My parents are singing and laughing in the front of the car as we are heading home after a party my father was invited to. I am in the back seat going through my phone and taking small glances at them with a smile on my face.
And then next thing I know I hear my mum screaming, I then look at my dad and find him leaning his head on the wheel as the car starts speeding. Before I knew it I was ejected out of the car and I saw the car crash and fall into a raven. Tears start falling down my eyes as I sit there trying to process what just happened, my starts getting heavy and I then stand making my way to the raven and I'm unable to see my father's car as I start realizing what just happened
"No. No. No…. NOOOOO!!!!!" I screamed but it seemed like my voice wasn't coming out and then everything went blank again.
