A pale figure could be seen shaking frantically as she read the message displayed on her phone's screen and tears started forming in her pair of hazel eyes becoming visible…
"I'm busy right now can't come, but frankly speaking I'm tired of you and this stupid relationship and will never spend my life with a dumb and stupid woman like you. And also don't try contacting me from now on." James' text said. Hurt would be an understatement to how she was actually feeling at that moment.
The words kept ringing in her ears as she crumbled to the ground, her heartbeat increasing at an inhumane speed. Tears started streaming down her face as she kept reading the text again and again. It felt like her world was collapsing in front of her eyes but she couldn't do anything to stop it.
Her breath became heavy as she stood in the hall, it felt like she was suffocating, like the air in the room was not enough for her lungs to breathe in properly.
Upon seeing the look on her face, people guessed what was happening and started leaving the hall one after the other. Some uttered apologies but it fell into deaf ears while others, especially young women, made fun of her but she wasn't bothered by them even for a second as her mind was constantly playing the James' break up text over and over in her head like a mantra.
As she was crying, Anna, her friend, walked up to her, as she was fidgeting with her fingers while battling with her inner self if she should tell Naveah or not but she finally decided to let her know about it. She then took a deep breath and said
"Check his social media." Hearing that she understood who she was talking about and opening her phone to check. What she saw was like a slap across the face, he had just uploaded an intimate picture of him and his girlfriend.
When she saw the picture, she commented saying
"James, how could you do this to me? Tell me this is a joke and that you'll be here for our marriage as agreed!!.
I thought you loved me, what was our relationship all about? What did I really mean to you??!."
After writing her comment, she had a glitter of hope in her heart but she knew deep down that he didn't love her and it pained her so much. A notification came interrupting her train of thoughts. She then opened her phone to check it and read the answer James gave her…
"Don't be delusional, You are not fit to be my girlfriend let alone be my wife because you'll never be up to my standards. You never meant, you don't mean and you'll never mean anything to me. I hope you get it loud and clear. Look at you, sounding so desperate and unable to accept the fact that no one will never ever truly love you." After saying that he blocked her.
Anna rushed and took her in her arms as she was crying endlessly as she kept repeating "Why me? What have I done to deserve so much pain? I genuinely loved him but he never loved me. You know, deep down I knew it but I always told myself to keep hoping I was just overthinking. It hurts so much Anna."
Anna was feeling so bad seeing her friend this hurt, but she knew that there was nothing she could do apart for being there for her friend.
"Hold on, l will go grab you a glass of water. I'll be right back" Anna said, seeing her in this state and stood to go get the water.
As she kept reading his comment, tears continued flowing down her face as she felt her heart being shattered to pieces, she never imagined that the only person she ever loved with all her heart and soul and for whom she was willing to give everything was just playing with her.
As she was replaying the words of his texts over and over in her head, she stood from where she was wiped off her tears, her hands closed into a fist as she vowed to seek revenge and make him pay for all he did to her.
She walks out of the hall, her movement slow and on reaching outside she spots a luxurious car parked a few distance from the court's entrance. An idea strikes her and she quickens her pace and walks up to the car.
She then searches her surroundings and she sees a stone near the car, hesitantly bends towards it as she picks it, determined she breaks the luxurious car's windshields.
After breaking the windshields, she waits and a few minutes later a tall figure appears in front of her. A pair of gray eyes washed over her petite figure. She started feeling tense due to the intense eye contact and decided to break the silence first without showing her nervousness.
"Oops!!. So sorry, I don't have money to pay for the damage, but I could compensate by warming your bed." She said playfully but deep down feeling her nervousness grow since he never stopped looking at her with those eyes as a smirk was plastered on his gorgeous face.
He chuckled, " Marry me and we're even." He said and her jaw dropped to the ground as she was taken aback by what he just said. A knot formed in her stomach as she processed his words.
After few more minutes of silence she finally responded
"There's no way I'm doing that!!." She said as he looked at her undisturbed by her rejection.
He smirked and said"Don't forget that you still have to pay for the damage". After hearing his words, she immediately started regretting her decision to break his windshields.
Seeing her shocked by his words, he let out a small laugh and gave her his card before leaving in another car followed by one of his men
