Hours soon passed by, and Liam still hadn't appeared in any of the scenes.
"It seems like they just finished shooting the scenes of the main characters," He muttered, as he saw Damien go to the changing room.
"Alright everyone, thanks for your hard work. We will rest for fifteen minutes before resuming to part 2." He shouted.
'Finally,' Liam thought.
The part 2 that the director was talking about was the non-important scenes, aka the scenes where the main characters weren't filmed.
For example, in the scene that they are currently doing. The main character, Damien, is doing a run from a police chase.
The important scenes are the inside of the car scenes, where Damien is seen driving and whatnot.
The non-important scenes were the ones that were zoomed out, where anyone could be used as a decoy.
This was where Liam was going to shine... or at least appear.
'I wonder what role he will give me,'
15 minutes later...
The main characters had already left the area, as they were done with their designated scenes.
"Alright everyone, gather around." Director Charles shouted, gathering everyone next to him.
"You will be one of the bystanders, your expressions and body language should show shock as you watch a do an impossible drift." He said to someone next to Liam.
"Liam, you will also have a similar role but this time you won't be in the street. You will be walking out of a supermarket when a car speeds past you, you get scared and drop your food."
Liam nodded, although he felt sad that he didn't get any role which he could benefit from.
He didn't think he could get any skill from just dropping food on the floor. But despite that, he still nodded anyway.
As Charles finished giving out the roles, an assistant of his came and whispered something in his ears.
"What did you just say!" Charles let out, not matching the tone of the assistant who was whispering.
"We signed a contract with their group, their professional driver is meant to be here to do the scene. Otherwise, who will do it? me? or the main characters?" He huffed.
"Call him, where is he now? He is delaying everyone here." He said to his assistant.
"Director... he isn't responding to the phone calls." The assistant said slowly, worried that the director would shout again.
"WHAT!" Charles shouted as he threw a script on the floor.
"He thinks that he is the only one who can drive? I will terminate the contract with them early tomorrow, this is unacceptable. He had done this twice already, this is the third time!"
Liam's eyes shone brightly as a thought flickered in his mind.
"D-Director Charles, I know how to drive well," Liam said, raising his hands from between the extras.
Director Charles still angry, raised his eyebrow. He was about to curse out the person who spoke, but realising it was Simon's connection he asked.
"Are you sure? The scene is difficult, we hired a professional driver for a reason."
"We don't have time to waste Liam, I will be really upset if you are overexaggerating to get my favour," He said, his tone sceptical.
"Director, if my performance isn't to your liking... you won't see my face again." Liam said, with a confident smile on his face.
Charles hesitated slightly but nodded his head.
"Alright, set up the lighting everyone. Liam will be our substitute driver, let's start with the easier scene first."
Everyone quickly got to work, and soon the set was ready.
Inside the BMVV M5 CS, Liam's heartbeats were increasing rapidly as the system still did not give him the skill.
"Damn this system, where is my skill!" He muttered silently, inside the car as the countdown began.
"Isn't it meant to give me a skill of the role I will perform!!" He panicked as the time hit zero.
"Action!" Director Charles stated.
Panicking, Liam pressed the gas.
[Ding! Advanced-Level Driving Skill Unlocked!]
[The host will receive bonus experience to the skill depending on his performance.]
Information flooded Liam's brain, as his body started moving by instinct performing the scene that director Charles had told him about minutes earlier.
...
"He knows what he is doing!" Charles muttered as he glanced at Liam performing a small drift that lit up smoke in the area.
Inside the car...
Liam's mind was being overwhelmed due to the shock he received.
"I'm actually doing this myself, hahaha. This system did not fail me, I knew I could depend on it," He muttered silently, as he completely ignored the fact that he cursed it out seconds earlier.
A few minutes later... Charles ended the scene.
"Cut!" He said as he walked towards the car where Liam was seated.
Seeing him approach, Liam parked the car and stepped outside.
"Liam that was... amazing, had I met you before I wouldn't need to hire that waste man who is always late," He said smiling in approval.
"You are too kind director, I'm barely passable," Liam responded humbly.
"Passable? If you are passable, then I'm afraid he is a toy driver, not a car driver." He laughed.
Liam scratched the back of his head and smiled at the director unsure of what to say.
As they prepared to do the next scene, someone entered the area where they were filming.
"Sorry everyone, I'm late." a gruff-sounding man spoke, making everyone's head turn towards him.
Director Charles was the first to speak, not giving anyone else a chance.
"You are sorry? Shove that up your... engine, you are no longer hired. I will terminate the contract with your company... effective tomorrow morning!" Charles scoffed, dealing blow after blow to the man in front of him.
"Director Charles, what are you saying? This isn't a joke, I take offence to this," The man said, a frown appearing on his brows.
"Take offence or take defence, I don't care. You are fired, get out."
The man shook his head and said.
"You can't fire me even if you want to, my contract is still available. Plus, who is going to replace me," He said,as he glanced around the cast before his eyes stopped at Liam who was standing next to the car.
