Chapter 2
It was impressive to say the least, An early mid century
mansion. Stone bricks and tall towers, several intact. Beautiful wood carved
doors, a large open floor layout, offices bathrooms, negative energy leeched into the ground and stone work.
"Oh my god."
Kazuma Kuwaba said hands moving to his mouth.
"Nice house."
Yusuke nodded unaware of the hoot Kazuma could see.
There were dozens of them. Everywhere, standing around, maids, women curled and crying holding dead babies
The property had dozens of spirits locked in place. Standing and doing night. Frozen in time, many covered in blood, throats slit. Their souls in pain.
Kazuma could hear them crying, feel their sadness, fear, pain.
He gasped in, as his vision blurred, salty tears rivers across his cheeks. So many children. Babies, everywhere. Like thriving angry fetuses writhing in agony.
Scattered all around the yard. The dr. Would cremate them and spread their ashes across the ground. Buy them in the flower beds and gardens.
A wafting the stench of rot, death and all his
friends. Arriving just on the corner lining up the entrances with salt. Just
before barrier completed Hana was plucked from the ground spinning into place
with a yell.
A masculine laugh when Hana draped and turned a massive
bright smile on her face.
"Don't do that!"
Smacking his shoulder the ghost flinched away, the matching
grin, sparkling storm blue eyes through thick lashes matching each other. Twins
Two souls born together. One attached to the world one tether through a tiny string unable to move on
"Gotta stay on your toes Roe, how are you going to be a
Ninja?"
"A ninja warrior princess."
Hana corrected when the two grinned and laughed at each
other. Referencing their youth.
Twins, born together lived in the same room until puberty. Cradle to
grave, they were never far apart.
Lucas held onto his baby sister latching on her energy, he
refused to leave.
"Rosario Maria Constance BlackRose, where is your bra? You are
very exposed."
An older woman with waves of chocolate brown locks flitted
around the young woman.
"Mom stop I don't have any bras."
"Why not?"
"My boobs grew and you can't leave the house, to go shopping
with me."
Folding her thin arms dissatisfied with her daughters answer,
unable to respond.
"You look thin, have you been eating?"
"Yes mom I'm eating, I have enough food for the week. Mom please stop!"
Grooming her child the mother began to fret, about her hair, her skin, asking her took book a facial at the country club.
"I don't have time for all that!"
Hana allowed her mother to fret for a moment longer when the
dissatisfaction of a tisk echoed. All eyes were on the man, tall with strong
shoulders. A broad chest covered in a button up, and coat. Dressed for midwinter, the bullet wound hidden well on his chest.
"What do you think you're doing young lady?"
The awkward silence befell the group, the sudden fatherly
tone serious. With the bravery of a door mouse locked in a corner facing a
starving black cat. Hana spoke
"Tonight's the night."
"Tonight is not the night."
The father repeated sternly.
"Oh tonight is definitely the night."
Lucas directed his attention onto the intimidating man
Matching the seriousness. Shifting once, a tale sign of discomfort. Strangers
were present, the psychologist knew it was in bad taste to discuss family matters
around others. Fighting with his son who simply just glared at the man.
"Tonight is not the night honey."
A gentle mothers tone eased the tension, as Raul Ronaldo
stood tall.
"you can't take on a Itachi demon."
The verdict final, unprepared for the rebuttal.
"I brought back up."
Lucas turned staring at the for men emerging around his
sister.
"Princess, it is dangerous to get others involved you
remember what happened with l Saiuki."
Guilt and sadness consumed Hana, it was unintentional, the
first friend Hana involved in the Murder house. Rampaging through madness,
fighting ghosts, together combed the mansion. In the attic thrived Jin, nasty
parasite demons latching on the the dark energy feeding, festering; killing.
Hana was too wild, justice minded, angry. Allowing her
feelings to consume her.
I saiuki saved Hana, in return Hana dragged her friend to
the street. Saving her soul from being trapped in the murder house.
She had vowed to never involve anyone again. Yet here she was.
"I have a plan."
Hana said confidently to her dead twin brother.
"Remember your last plan?"
Full lips pursed thinking of the violent bloodshed that
occurred with the slaughter of her family.
"Ok, but in my defense, it was my first time."
The playful laughter of the spirits reminded the young men
of why they were here.
"Hold on, can you just come and go when ever you want?"
Yusuke Urameshi asked mahogany eyes blinking in confusion. In
his experience as the spirit detective souls were mostly invisible unless one
was psychic. Dr. Renaldo responded happily. Education was important, the
professor loved teaching. Eager to have someone learn. Eager to teach again.
"Yes and no we can only extend around the property, around
the side walks. The others know not to mess with Lucas."
Hana was offended when her brother ruffled the long hair. He could actively touch his sister. He was stronger than most spirits. Their bond was so tight and so close I
He was almost alive.
Almost.
"There is only so much you can do. Don't stress yourself
out."
The twins stared at one another in silence, an unspoken language
of twins. Their gray blue eyes staring at one another.
It was a happy scene of a family, though if you didn't know they were dead it looked like any normal family gathering.
This was not a girl who had a dead family, she had a ghost family. They couldn't move on, nor could she.
The black mist brewed
under The Dead Family's feet. Unaware of the decrepit left hand wrapping around
Hana's right calve. The sudden yank pulled Hana down dragging her through the
earth
"Rose!"
Lucas screamed I'm horror.
A vicious swear word echoed back in rage.
FUCK
Rosario Maria Inez Black Gold
A feral scream answered back when the sound of a shot gun
rang out.
"My love I really think the children have gone too far in
taking your last name."
Bang bang bang
"NOT SO CORPORAL NOW ARE YA'? ECTOPLASMIC PIECE- O SHIT! SHOVE
THIS ROCK SALT UP YOUR ASS YOU'LL SHIT AND VOMIT AT THE SAME TIME! I JUST
WASHED THESE FUCKING JEANS!"
The mouth on Rosario made the men blush,
"Why don't you bring that up with your daughter."
Ascending through an abyss following a mad woman, the four
men burst colorful auras around themselves sizzling away the black mist
shielding the men from consuming darkness.
Piles of ash with silver ANKAH sealing the soul in place.
Who exactly was this woman?
Kazuma Kuwabara the only human of the bunch ran forward to follow.
A tall broad shouldered Muscale young man. At 6 foot, tall amount Japans Height standards. His brows furrows along his angular face, the red tint of stress ghosted across high cheek bones.
Worried gray eyes combed the property. The souls screeching in agony. Children screaming, women crying.
He could see a massive black creature with large Yellow eyes. It had no lips wwith a massive wide mouth to try and consume the woman.
It was ugly, large seeing the beast made an impression onto his psyche, a core memory rushed to his mind as he saw the murder house as a child, a small girl , no older than 7, long black hair and a shiny white ribbon in her hair, sadly searching for help lingering in the window burning screaming to escape when the massive black creature tore her inhalf eating her alive.
The hoard of souls began attacking at him, cold hands lashing at the human screaming in agony.
The souls were suffering, their life force sucked away by a Powerful Psycic demon.
Every moment in this place was Hell.
Pure Hell.
The piles of ash and rock salt surrounded the area. He could feel them, as if he were doing in a mist of agony. Approaching closer to the house it seemed like a never ending wall of stone, no doors nor windows, just a plain black wall.
The property seemed to change at random, searching for a way in Kazuma followed the wall around the west side toward the north part of the mansion.
A massive wooden Blue door seemed to spread out of no where.
Pausing cautiously Kazuma blinked. It was a lovely large wooden door pained a deep blue. A golden latch handle and a small round gold knocker. Sat before him.
The throbbing in his fingertips tingled as Kazuma gripped the handle.
There was a powerful spirit behind the door, it wasn't malevolent. It seemed almost welcoming. As his heart swelled into his throat Kazuma opened the door to find a massive most beautiful kitchen. Diagonal tiles, and blue tile backsplash under warm golden yellow cabinets.
The savory stench of food assulted his nose, As Kazuma entered a kitchen. To find the entire place at peace.
There was no agony, no pain, as if this room were a separate entity from the house. The counters were filled with cakes and pies, flour and ingredients scattered the left side and the massive oven a large roast glistening and sizzled, crispy edge crust, Smokey and seasoned with peppers
A beautiful woman stood in an apron cooking and preparing dishes and casseroles. She had long dark brown hair with a happy pleasant attitude.
If it were not for the massive hole in the back of her head she would be picture perfect model for a stepford housewife from the 1950's
"Please take your shoes off before you enter."
Gulping the man nodded.
Alice Morita. A house wife killed by her husband in November of 1952. He came home from a normal day of work infuriated and under stress a simple hello by his wife, she was making pork chops.
An American dish as she enjoyed mixing up the pallet, in a fit of uncontrollable rage he shot her in the head, walked up to each child's room with a shot gun and killed all of 3 his children sleeping in their beds.
The police captured him and he died in prison. Inmate stabbing.
Standing and smiling at the men and a creepy dead stepford wife pose. She sore a beautiful pink dress an apron covered in flowers hung over her.
"Hello!
Please Have a seat, you can't go fighting off that big bad demon without a good meal."
Serving the young man A large roast beautifully steam smoking off edges, juice soaked into each muscle. Poring down the side
A grand table set for 10 with large ornate wooden chairs.
The entire set was hand carved worth tens of thousands, no one would dare touch it.
Warm buttery biscuits, rice and mashed potatoes. Suishi spring rolls bao buns.
A cornucopia of English, Thai, Japanese, American.
Even Gyros.
A Greek dish with thick peta bread and slivers of smoked lamb. A presentation fit for a king.
"Oh my please sit. I have a pie baking and some vanilla ice cream for dessert."
It was so surreal, the large kitchen with a light ambience of warmth, peace, and love compared to the rest of the darkness that surround at the home.
The Stepford perfect smile plastered on her face with her blood red lipstick, Hair up in curls. Not a single flaw in her light blue eyeshadow. Big pearl earrings and a large pearl necklace.
"Thank you ma'am."
"You are just so welcome, you boys are going to need all your strength."
"Yes Ma'am"
"Alice is fine Mr?"
Bowing deeply to the spirt Kazuma gave his own name
"Kazuma Kuwabara. Miss. Alice."
Bowing formally he could tell she was properly tutored in native Etiquette.
"Sit, eat Kazuma needs strength."
She said as Kazuma stared at his plate it was all warm and smelled delicious. And as he went to take a bite he paused sensing something dark.
"Well go on dear."
Grasping the cold stainless steel spoon Kazuma cautiously scooped his mashed potatoes. White fluffy sipped clouds with small brown flecks.
A puff of steam wafted off the potatoes. Taking a bite Kazuma was surprised, it was buttery and delicious.
Looking around Kazuma realized this was a lot of the food Hana had set out. This woman was clealry caring for the young woman.
"Thank you Miss. Alice."
She beamef happily as she sat beside him, leaning forward fingers laced under her delicate chin.
Those lashes blinked at Kazuma.
"My Omni was also native."
She said happily, the woman moved to his country, gave him three beautiful children. They met in college, she followed him across the world.
Only in death did she know the truth. The Itachi demon corrupted her world. Poisoned him causing the man to harm his children.
The Itachi couldn't feed off her soul. She was a mother, her mothers love had sealed him away from the kitchen. Where her little boys ran around to play.
Little giggles scored around
"My girlfriend is Koroōmé, they are healing maidens from The Makí, Demon world."
Tilting her head curiously
"Is she a good girl?"
"She's the absolute best! Her hair is so soft a beautiful robins Egg Blue, she is the kindest sweetest person in the whole world, we were strolling through the park when Yukina Noticed a little kitten trapped in a drain ditch.
She didn't care at all about her pretty Kimono and dug the little guy out. He was so caked in mid it soiled her Obi.
Yukina didn't care about that through, we took him to a bathhouse and cleaned him up, we got him some goats milk and he loves with her at the Temple His name is Egg."
"What a beautiful name what kind of cat is he?"
"He's a little Gray and black kitty, want to see a picture?"
"Absolutely!"
She said as he pulled out his phone and showed her the screen, a beautiful young woman with long teal toned hair large ruby colored eyes and a heart shaped face. A cute button nose. Holding a beautiful gray black kitten.
"She is absolutely beautiful, she must be proposed to right away, lest someone snatches her up."
Kazuma Nodded in agreement
"Rings are expensive, I'm saving up for the perfect one."
Blinking the woman smiled and removed her two rings. A beautiful solid gold 24k ring, bejeweled with a princess cut 4K diamond. With little pearls on the side as a ring of diamonds wrapped down the band. The second ring was solid gold with pearls clipping into the top of the ring as the bottom row of diamond wrapped around the bottom.
It was beautiful precious
"Oh no Miss. Alice!"
Shaking his head
"Please take them,"
She said placing the rings on his palm.
"There is no one to pass them onto, Yukina is lucky to have Kazuma. She deserves the world. Give it to her."
Bowing he nodded as he thanked the woman deeply. Hugging the man she urged him to finish his meal.
Moving onto dessert they chatted about science, Alice was a scientist and had many questions about the advances of the world.
"Forgive this one, science has always been difficult to grasp."
"Kazuma just needs someone to show him what he's missing."
So happy and confident Kazuma felt soothed, mothered. He couldn't remember his own mother. His parents passed away when he was a young boy.
It was his sister who raised him. Shizuru Kuwabara worked three jobs to put her brother in the best schools. Hairdresser by trade, Sales rep Tuesdays Sundays and Thursdays. Night shift janitor from 8pm-3am. 5 days a week.
She had cared for her baby brother Forever. Placing her life on hold. Shizuru never complained. Never cried or blamed her brother.
It was only when he would screw up and get into trouble would his sister lord it over his head. She had threatened to kill him if he didn't get his shit together
His sister was wonderful.
She wasn't a mother, she didn't have the mother warmth.
"Thank you Miss. Alice."
The sudden crash's of battle brought Kazuma to attention.
"Get going, and be careful."
Kazuma bowed nodding his head feeling full and confident Kazuma stood. It was time to free the souls.
