Lily's walk led her as far as the edge of the woods, a spot
she frequented often for its stillness. Sunbeams filtered through the canopy
and cast dappled patterns of light on the forest floor. A light breeze
permeated through the trees bringing with it the flavour of pine and sounds of
a stream far down in the woods. This is the right way to begin my sixteenth
year," she whispered to herself, inhaling deeply the clean air.
The universe was huge
enough, the search area was vast enough, and Lily yearned for discovering all
of the things. Instantly an eerie voice, almost impossible to hear but
completely without reason, broke the silence of the woods. Lily called out and
beckoned her to go down inside the trees, into the lower stems. An apparition
walked forward, an elderly woman, whose face seemed to have taken an ancient
age by just living.
Her eyes, clear and deep, held a knowing gaze. Lily
experienced a shock and shudder down her spine, a feeling of wonder and yet
somehow familiarity. "Who are you?" she asked, her voice barely a
whisper. The woman smiled and a calming halo enveloped her. "I have been
waiting for you, Lily."
The time has come to start the process of transformation
within oneself" is announced in the article. Lily suffered an urge impulse
want and disseminated through her whole body. Right from the inside out, she
knew this trip was what she had been looking for. "A journey? What kind of
journey?" She asked, speech at once curious and eager. The eldery woman's
eyes twinkled.
An insight, a trial of the soul, a search for the one
within. Her statements rang true in Lily's very being, in the way a prayer
does, explaining a desire she could not put into words. Lily's heart pounded.
This was it. This was the adventure she had been waiting for. If the call of
their inner explorer appeared, Lily was here.
