Lexi Thompson stood in front of the mirror, smoothing out her dress and taking a deep breath. She had been preparing for this moment for weeks, and she was determined to make a good impression.
At 22, Lexi was a recent graduate with a degree in business administration. She had landed a job as a secretary to Ethan James, the CEO of a wealthy and successful company. Lexi had heard rumors about Ethan's demanding personality, but she was confident in her abilities and eager to prove herself.
As she got ready for work, Lexi's mind wandered back to the interview she had with Ethan a few weeks ago. She had been nervous but determined to make a good impression. Ethan had been charming and friendly, but also intense and focused. Lexi had left the interview feeling confident that she had gotten the job.
Now, as she stood in front of the mirror, Lexi felt a mix of emotions. She was excited to start her new job and prove herself, but she was also nervous about working for someone as demanding as Ethan.
Taking a deep breath, Lexi grabbed her bag and headed out the door. She had a 30-minute commute to the office, which gave her plenty of time to collect her thoughts and prepare for the day ahead.
As she rode the train, Lexi went over her notes and reminders for the day. She had a meeting with Ethan at 10 am to discuss her duties and responsibilities, and she wanted to make sure she was prepared.
When the train pulled into the station, Lexi grabbed her bag and followed the crowd out of the train car. She walked a few blocks to the office building, a sleek and modern skyscraper that seemed to gleam in the morning sunlight.
As she rode the elevator to the top floor, Lexi felt her nerves start to get the better of her. She took a deep breath and reminded herself that she was qualified for this job and that she had nothing to prove.
When the elevator doors opened, Lexi stepped out into a spacious reception area. The room was decorated in a sleek and modern style, with a large desk at the far end of the room. Behind the desk sat a friendly-looking receptionist, who smiled and greeted Lexi as she approached.
"Hi there! You must be Lexi, our new secretary. Welcome to the team!"
Lexi smiled and shook the receptionist's hand. "Thanks! I'm excited to be here."
The receptionist nodded and handed Lexi a folder filled with paperwork and information. "Here's your welcome packet. It's got all the information you need to get started."
Lexi took the folder and began to flip through its contents. As she did, the receptionist gestured to a door at the far end of the room.
"Mr. James's office is through that door. He's expecting you at 10 am."
Lexi nodded and took a deep breath. She was ready to meet her new boss and start her new job.
With that, Lexi walked through the door and into Ethan's office. The room was spacious and elegantly decorated, with a large desk at its center. Behind the desk sat Ethan James, looking every inch the powerful businessman.
"Ah, Lexi," he said, his voice deep and commanding. "Welcome to the team. I trust you're ready to get started?"
Lexi nodded, feeling a flutter in her chest as she met Ethan's gaze. She had expected him to be handsome, but she hadn't expected the spark of attraction that she felt as their eyes met.
"Yes, Mr. James," she said, trying to sound confident. "I'm ready to get started."
Ethan nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Good," he said. "I have a lot of work for you to do. Let's get started."
And with that, Lexi's new job began.
