Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Unyielding Power

A hundred years ago, a peaceful world was consumed by darkness. An asteroid descended from the sky, carrying with it the demons that would plague the land for generations.

Everyone in the world faced their fate as the weeks passed. The sky remained black, a haunting reminder of the evil that had arrived. But on the final day of the week, something extraordinary happened. The sky suddenly shone, brighter than ever before, and a deafening roar echoed from above. Terrified, people prayed it was a sign of hope.

When the asteroid finally struck, the impact sent eight glowing crystals scattering across the world. These crystals held immense power—the key to survival against the demon threat. Only the gifted few could harness their energy. In response, eight nations united to form hero academies, where the chosen ones would train to wield this power. At the age of sixteen, every child was tested, and those deemed worthy would inherit the power of the crystals, becoming the next generation of heroes.

Many years later, a boy named Lee Xin was born—a gifted child with a peaceful and happy life. When Lee Xin turned 7, he had a dream that he really wanted to come true: "I really want to be the strongest hero someday," Lee Xin said, his face filled with sadness because he knew that he was too weak to become that one day. Lee Xin was a brave, kind boy, always helping his family. He had a very happy life in his town, until his world turned upside down when he was ten years old. One fateful night, his town was invaded by demons. Screams, explosions, and the cries of children filled the air. Lee tried to hold back his tears as terror gripped him.

In a desperate bid to save him, his parents carried him out of bed and hid him inside a barrel.

"Mother, Father, what's going on?" Lee Xin said, his voice cracking.

"My son, be brave. Just stay still. No matter what happens, stay still, okay?" his father said.

"But—"

"No buts, just stay still. Be brave for us." His father said, his tears drifting from his eyes.

Through a crack, Lee watched in horror as his mother and father were killed, their lives taken by a merciless demon. The creature laughed cruelly, showing no remorse. Lee's quiet sobs betrayed his hiding place, and the demon turned toward the barrel.

"Is this the end?" Lee Xin whispered while sobbing quietly.

Just as it was about to strike, the heroes arrived. But it was too late—the town had already been reduced to ashes. Lee Xin was left devastated, consumed by helplessness and rage. He vowed revenge against the demons, determined to become strong enough to never feel powerless again.

Little did he know, the demon responsible for his family's death was no ordinary monster. It was Deux the Merciless, a member of the Eight Pillars—the deadliest demons in existence. But not the deadliest—there are 8 Pillar Demons, and only one Demon King!

After that tragedy, Lee Xin was left with a shattered heart, thinking nonstop about what happened to his family.

"Why demons? Why!?" Lee Xin shouted, his tears falling.

Someone approached him—it was the hero named Lux, an S-class hero, known as the "Darkness Demolisher," clad in golden armor and wielding a shining sword. He possessed the power to demolish any demon using the "Never Ending Light" he held.

Lux walked up to Lee Xin and said, "Sorry, young man, we arrived too late."

Lee Xin wiped his tears and said, "I've decided to seek revenge. Please let me join the hero academy to avenge my family's deaths."

"If that's your reason, you're welcome to join the academy, young man," Lux replied.

Lee Xin decided to join the academy to avenge his family's death and wipe out all the demons he encountered without mercy.

Lee Xin fainted from low energy and the traumatic event that caused his family's death. He woke up in the academy's healing room and rushed outside, but collapsed due to sudden movement before he had fully recovered. Time passed, and Lux entered the room.

"Young man, are you feeling better now?" Lux asked.

Lee Xin nodded while eating something. He then asked, "How can I become stronger?"

Lux replied, "Oh, slow down, buddy. You're way too young for that."

"What? Why? I'm already 10 years old!" Lee Xin said, shouting at Lux.

"It's because you need to train for 6 years before you can gain power from the Crystal."

"Six years!!!!?" Lee Xin exclaimed.

"Yes, 6 years, buddy. You need to be 16 years old to awaken the power inside you."

"I can't wait that long!" Lee Xin said.

"You need to train until you're 16. If you don't, your body will be consumed by the crystal. Even if you're 16 but haven't trained, you won't be worthy enough to wield that kind of power."

"Fine, for 6 years!" Lee Xin shouted angrily.

"Im counting on you buddy"Lux replied while going out to the healing room

Night came, and Lee Xin slept peacefully, but in a minute, he suddenly had a bad dream about the tragedy that befell his family. He couldn't forget what happened that day. Lee Xin's thoughts still haunted him from that night.

Morning came, with the sound of birds chirping and children laughing in the academy. Lee Xin was still asleep but suddenly woke up because of the noise he heard. It sounded like an explosion, and it reminded him of that night when the demon killed his family. He ran outside his room and rushed to where the explosion was coming from. He felt relief when he realized that the noise was coming from the training room—the room where the new heroes who had recently awakened their powers were training.

Lee Xin watched them train for almost two hours. He observed their movements, hoping to copy them, but he soon realized he was too weak and skinny to become like them one day. However, he didn't stop watching until the end of the day.

At night, Lee Xin practiced the movements in his room, but he could never do them perfectly. He practiced and practiced but still couldn't get them right, so he eventually fell asleep. He suddenly woke up, hearing voices outside his room. It was Lux talking with a woman he had never seen before. The woman was Lexi, an S-class hero known for her power to go Berserk, earning her the title "Berserker Lady." Everyone knew she was a terrifying figure among the S-class heroes.

Lux and Lexi were discussing the report about a town that had recently been attacked. It wasn't as brutal as the attack on Lee Xin's town, but they mentioned something about a "Pillar Demon" named "Deux." Lee Xin wondered if that was the demon that killed his family. Determined, he made up his mind to train harder so that he could one day face the demon responsible for his family's death.
