Chapter four

It was Saturday again. Only this time, Dir. Woodhouse didn't force us to participate in sports. Today was special after all. It was Dir. Woodhouse's anniversary. Today makes it Ten years since he became a director. Such commitment!

I'm not sure I could do that about something I'm passionate about. Because lately my passion has been dying.

I put on a blue checked croped top that was tied at my stomach and red skirts. I was going to help decorate for the party tonight.

Today, practice had been suspended and instead, the set was used to plan the party.

We agreed on a blue theme and so I was sitted on set, blowing up blue balloons.

*

I wore a black dress with one hand to the party. Everybody was having a good time, talking, interacting and some dancing. Dir. Woodhouse was in a conversation with some other directors he had invited.

I joined Ava and Keith near the snack table.

'Looks like Arain bailed out.' Ava said, looking around.

Can't I go two minutes without hearing his name?

'Yeah! He used his get out of practice card.' Keith said.

'This isn't practice.' I said through clenched teeth.

This is an important day for our director and the idiot missed it. I wonder why Dir.Woodhouse let him leave.

Just then Dir.Woodhouse called our attention to toast by hitting a spoon on his glass.

'Honestly, when I decided to be a director I didn't know I'll make it this far, but here we are.' He gave a speech.' Here's to a longer directing career and great cast.' He lifted his glass up in cheers and the crowd cheered also lifting their own glass.

~Monday~

Thankfully Magaret wasn't incharge of today's practice. So no kissing scene, phew!

'How can you like me so much?' I asked, in character.

Honestly, saying all this mushy feelings stuff to someone I loathe was cringe for me.

'You're different.' Luke aka Arain replied.

'You'll still walk out of my life Luke. I guarantee that.'

Can't wait for that to happen.

'I won't. My love will always draw me back to you. Always.'

'You don't understand! I can't be with you.'

'Why not?'

'Destiny forbids us from being together.'

'I don't mind rewriting destiny for you Cerrea.'

'Cerrea!' Doz, one of the many cast and particularly my best friend, shouted.

'I have to go.' I said.

In the script I had to run away but I didn't. After all it was just practice. I looked at Co- producer Parten for what to do next.

Jake Parten was a tall man in his early forties, the sprinkle of gray hair showed for that. He's the Co- producer of the movie and the person in charge of practice this week.

'That was good.' He said walking up to us. 'How have you been doing with dance lessons?'

'Infact I have one after I'm done here.'

'Maybe you should head there. The rest would practice their part.'

I went ahead to pack my things and leave. They were practicing the part where my parents has a conversation about my life. Well, Cerrea's life.

*

Again my dance teacher didn't show up and I wasted the last thirty minutes driving out here for nothing. Sitting in my car contemplating what to do next, I decided to call my best friend.

'Hello Zeke.' I said into the phone once he picked it.

'September! Wasn't expecting your call.' Even through the phone I could hear the excitement in his voice.

'Me too.' I said. 'So, how's life been treating ya?'

'Cool, cool. Business is good, family is okay, I met a special someone, planning on trav-'

'You met a special someone?' I asked, almost flying out of my seat.

'Yeah I guess.' Zeke, always the humble fellow.

'Nothing big about it.'

It wasn't every day my gay bestie called people special.

'You have to tell me all about it.'

'Yeah, but not over the phone.'

'I'll find time for dinner one day and you must talk.'

'Since when have I been a tight lip, especially to you.'

'Fine. Until then.' I couldn't wait. It was about time he found someone.

We talked some more and then after our goodbyes, I drove my self to dinner.

*

I found a diner downtown and decided to eat there. I was given a menu and when I had ordered and was waiting for my food, the owner of the diner called everyone's attention.

'Please the owner of ghoufdzcbnj should go and repack their car-'

That was my car. I quickly went out without hearing everything he said.

Turns out, I had parked my car in the middle of two lanes and another was at the back of mine looking for space to park. I went to his window.

'Um..Hi. could you please reverse back and drive towards the left so I could fix the problem.'

'Oh, is that your car.' He was amused.

'Just do what I asked.' I said.

He didn't say anything else and reversed I entered my own car, reversed and parked my car in a lane. Then I ran up to him.

'You can park now.'

I helped him to park with hand gestures like police on the express did. He parked his car down and came to meet me.

'You're September Avries right?'

He knows who I am! Urggh this just got embarrassing. I nodded my head.

'Sorry for the hold up. Can I buy you dinner?' I asked.

'Sure. I'm Matteo Tyler.'

Matteo was taller, had brown hair and black eyes. He had a stuble and muscular arms, but all in all, a friendly smile.

'Nice to meet you Matteo.'

We went back and he ordered his food then we ate together and surprisingly he wasn't a crazy fan that wanted pictures, or asking me about my career. We found neutral grounds and the discussion flowed. I found him to be interesting.

'I'm in a band and right now, we're on tour, here, in california.

'Wow! Really?'

I had a lot of friends but none of them were in a band.

'Yeah. You should come see us play sometimes.'

'I really appreciate the gesture but my schedule is super tight this time of the year.'

'Bummer.' He said dejected. 'But if and when you do, here's our flyer.' He handed me a flyer that had Melody Mischief written in bold on top.

A/N: Hey everyone following LCA, I hope you are enjoying it so far. I want to make somethings clear. Firstly, LCA is about two actors taking us on a magical journey that will hopefully end with romance. Secondly, this story is a slow burn meaning its an enemy to lovers story that takes time for the characters to warm up to one another, so please just keep following the series and I assure you, you won't regret it 😜.
