In our world, there are countless ways that everything intertwines. Often, we are unaware of many aspects as we perceive we do. Despite our perceptions, We are just under a complex web. Yet, strangely, it all overlaps.

Chapter 1 Introduction

I've always been amazed by the many talents in the world, some of which we're unaware of. Our world isn't structured in a simple hierarchy but in overlapping layers. We rely on each other for the world to keep growing. There are organizations out there to bring harm, peace, and advancement.

We aren't the only ones living in this world; among us exist demi-humans, guardians, monsters, vampires, demons, elves, dragons, etc. Even though we are not aware of them, they coexist with us. They have their own society, but it overlaps with us and affects us.

I am Lofty. And I live in Canada. I'm a plain boring teen in high school. One thing about me is that I am curious, which drives me. I've always been against the idea of impossible. Many call me an idiot or gullible, And I don't plan to change. After all, history is full of moments that have made the impossible possible.

Think about it? We couldn't fly yet, so we created planes. We couldn't talk long distances, so we created phones. We wanted faster transportation, and we made cars. All these defy realities that we humans shouldn't be able to reach.

I had a personal goal, which was to find dragons or at least get closer to one. I find them very cool, but here is the issue: I don't know where to start. You know, in movies, a secret organization finds you.

So I went on the almighty Reddit, which is full of people with questions and answers. I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of the many questions and answers. Some say you have to find hebis before finding a dragon, some say they live in volcanoes, and some say sell your soul and then request to find a dragon. I ain't willing to sell my soul!! There are many significant hypotheses, some of which were hard to test because of my situation. So, I decided to create an organization called Overlapped. 

We live in an era of social media, and I took advantage of it. I began my quest by creating a subreddit and a club called Coexist. The club focuses on anime, manhwa, manhua, and manga. It aims to attract those interested in my organization, Overlapped. Overall, 13 people joined the club, but one stood out: Liam! with his shining silver hair that fell in gentle waves. His eyes were captivating with a rare shade of rose gold that seemed to reflect at you. He had a furrowed expression, which would make anyone feel like punching the shit out of him. 

He excelled in sports, aced his subjects, and was multilingual. People say perfect does not exist, but he would be an example of perfect if it did exist.

Here is the fact: These types of situations often hide a secret. I thought that he either took bribes or some sort of supernatural force was involved.

I was hoping supernatural beings were involved, but if not, and I find out that bribes are involved, I will just blackmail his ass to financially aid my organization. What good will it do for me if I have snitched on his ass? Instead, I will use it as an opportunity.

Call me the crown of stalking. I stalked his ass through social media and in school, plus outside. It felt wrong, but I needed to get through it. 

I discovered that Liam talks to himself often. Why? I came to two conclusions: He either has some type of medical issue or is supernatural. I had to test it out. If it was medical, then it would be caused by a trigger, right? 

I observed him more, and I have found that he often talks to himself as if he is asking for advice or answers. Even when he goes to the gym, he talks to himself; looking like someone is nagging his ass when responding to himself? This led me to believe that the cause wasn't medical, nor wasn't a habit. My conclusion came to supernatural. How do I prove it, though? Oftentimes, in movies and TV shows, when they touch the person, it leads to them seeing a ghost or something like that. I tried that, but I didn't see SHIT!!

Then I marched to him and rested my hand on his shoulder. With a cold stare, I said, " Blantly, I know who you talk to when you talk to yourself."

Liam eyes quivered, then both his hands hit Lofty shoulder; then he came closer to his face and said, "For real? Please, I beg you, help me get rid of this talking fire," with a sense of desperation in his voice.

Lofty froze for a second and rapidly blinked. Wait, that worked? Unbelievable!

Lofty heart jumped a beat, bursting with happiness, but at the same time, he tried to keep cool, forcefully suppressing the urge to grin widely.

I WAS FUCKING RIGHT! BUT WHAT IS A TALKING FIRE? Whatever it is, it is still supernatural, without a doubt.

With a steady and confident tone, he said Join my organization .... with a reassuring tone, he added it will help you.

Then Liam Deliberately leaned in and moved his fist towards Lofty chest and stated in a sharp tone It better not be a scam, or else I am beating your ass.

I have doubts about this guy but I've been stuck with the talking fire my whole life. So, a glimmer of hope is better than nothing.

Lofty shrugged off Liam's fist and felt intimidated a bit. He thought to himself, "He seems a bit aggressive. Is it wise for him to join? Am I better off without him?" Still, every little help leads to my goal.

So I decided to ask him some questions.

Since when did you start conversing with the talking fire?

He calls itself Judi; it talks non-stop like he keeps nagging and nagging

Sometimes, It would lead to suicidal thoughts just to make him shut up

Hmmm, What could this Judi Be? No matter; only time will tell.

So Liam, why are you good at everything?

Well, to keep this thing out of my mind, I had to keep myself occupied.

Judi glittered slightly and said sarcastically, "Sure, keep telling yourself. Somehow, you become the best, no thanks to me." Yeah, that sounds right.

Liam completely ignored Judi, unfazed, and asked How would you help get rid of this thing? I still have to test him; I can't let myself get scammed.

Lofty cleared his throat slightly, and in an exaggerated serious matter, he stated, well, believe it or not, the organization's goal. He paused and pulled Liam closer to find the supernatural, then nodded to Liam with an expression of wisdom. Well, obviously, it Could be the key to your problem.

Judi and Liam, watching the absurd display, simultaneously felt it was nothing more than a load of bullshit.

Still, Liam is holding on to the tiniest bit of hope, even if it is from a ridiculous teen.

So, are you saying they are people like me?

Precisely yes, and let's be real if they aren't, then you are the unluckiest person alive. Lofty padded his head back awkwardly. 

Believable, so Liam states let's get down to it.

Yes! Finally, a person joined my organization, one step closer to finding a dragon.

Liam responds frantically are you crazy? No, they will think I am crazy.

You know how, in biology, some traits are passed down in DNA? Couldn't it be similar for Judi? I know it's a long shot, but it's a start.

Liam rubbed his chin gently and smiled. I never look at it from that perspective. I will ask them in a way that won't be weird. 

Within a minute, this guy built a path for me; it was already impressive that he discovered about me and Judi. His thematic show had some real backing to it, and Liam chuckled a bit.

I really hope this path you opened can finally help get rid of Judi for me.

Lofty thoughts: I want to help you get rid of Judi, but not too fast. I need its help to find a dragon.

Lofty stutters. Yeah, I hope so, too. Soon, peace will come for you

I really feel guilty. But I ain't lying; I really do hope he finds peace.

Although I am using Liam temporarily, it will be a win-win situation. I am still helping him but only prolonging it.

Liam noticed the stutters; weird? Why is he stuttering

Then Lofty attempts to doge any upcoming questions and states Remember to look. Look for any type of weird reaction or weird answer. Lofty was still stuttering.

Okay, sounds good? 

Well, I don't really care if it gets rid of Judi in the end. Noting else matters
