Chapter 1 - The Accidental Sectmaster

Li Wei was once a regular office worker, living a boring life in the modern world. The only thing that kept him sane was the thought of reincarnating into a fantasy world, where he could become a powerful cultivator and live out his dream life. Little did he know, his wish would be granted in the most unexpected and ridiculous way possible.

One moment, he was sitting at his desk, scrolling through his phone, dreaming about magic and martial arts. The next, he was waking up in an unfamiliar place—an ancient, dusty room, with stone walls and a cold, damp floor.

"What the—?" Li Wei shot up, his head spinning. He looked around in disbelief. "Where am I? This... this is not my apartment."

Before he could process anything, a voice boomed in his head.

"Welcome to the Strongest Sectmaster System!"

Li Wei blinked, feeling a wave of dizziness wash over him. "What the hell? Did I just get hit by a truck? Is this some kind of weird dream?"

"Congratulations! You have been chosen as the Sect Master of the Xuanwu Sect!" the voice continued, completely ignoring his confusion. "Your task: Rebuild your sect and become the strongest Sectmaster in history."

"What?!" Li Wei shouted, his mind racing. "A sectmaster?! What happened to the part where I become a sword-wielding hero? I didn't ask for this! I just wanted to be strong and cool!"

"First Task: Cultivate your sect, strengthen your disciples, and become the best!"

"Wait, disciples?" Li Wei looked around frantically. He was still trying to make sense of his situation when the door creaked open. A young disciple, no older than sixteen, entered with a polite bow.

"Master, your meal is ready," the disciple said, holding a tray of rice and vegetables.

"Master?" Li Wei blinked in disbelief. "What do you mean, Master? I'm not your master!" But the disciple only nodded respectfully and placed the food on the table.

Li Wei groaned, sinking into the chair with a frustrated sigh. "Alright, alright. I don't know what kind of sick joke this is, but if I'm a sectmaster, I guess I have to start acting like one. Let's see what this Strongest Sectmaster System can do. I mean, how hard can it be to run a sect? Right?"

He reluctantly picked up the chopsticks and took a bite of the food. It was bland, tasteless, but at least edible. Maybe this is just part of the process... He thought to himself. Maybe the system will give me some amazing powers soon.

The voice echoed in his mind again.

"Task Update: Cultivate your body to increase strength and begin your rise!"

"Yeah, yeah," Li Wei muttered. "Give me some cool powers, and I'll get started. I just need to figure out what I'm doing first."

As he ate, his mind raced with thoughts of what to do next. A sectmaster... this is crazy. But maybe this is the opportunity I've been waiting for. I'll just have to fake it 'til I make it.

Just then, another disciple entered the room, this time a middle-aged man with a gruff look on his face. He stared at Li Wei as if waiting for orders.

Li Wei stared back, eyes wide. "Uh, so... what now?"

The disciple sighed, as if exasperated. "Master, the other disciples are waiting for your instructions."

Li Wei scratched his head. "Instructions? I don't even know what I'm supposed to do! Uh... okay, let's start with the basics. How do you guys normally train or... you know, fight?"

The disciple gave him a long, hard look. "Master, we've been waiting for your leadership. You're the Sectmaster now. It's up to you to lead us to glory."

Li Wei froze. "Glory? I just wanted a normal life! How did I end up in charge of a sect?"

He was on the verge of a panic attack when suddenly, the voice in his head spoke again.

"Task Progress: Cultivation is the key to restoring the Xuanwu Sect to its former glory!"

"Alright, alright! I get it!" Li Wei grumbled. "Let's get this over with. But seriously, system, you better give me something good, or I'll never forgive you!"

As the disciples waited for further orders, Li Wei sighed and stood up. "Alright, let's get to work... I guess."

His new life as the accidental Sectmaster had just begun, and it was already clear: this wasn't going to be anything like the cool, powerful fantasy world he had imagined. It was going to be much, much worse.

But at least, he had the Strongest Sectmaster System. And with that, maybe—just maybe—he could turn this mess into something impressive.
