Leon originally thought the inside of the battlements would be quite small, but once he entered, he realized it was considerably large. Even standing up, he couldn't reach the ceiling, and he could swing his sword without worrying about hitting the walls and causing the blade to rebound.

After all, this was a battlement of a fortress, not residential housing. Common people could reach the ceiling just by standing on a stool and would hit a wall with just a few steps—it really couldn't be too small.

Leon looked around. Because there was only a slit letting in light, the whole interior was quite dark. The tall stone pillars supporting the ceiling were cracked and mottled. Scattered on the central table were damaged books, and the walls were adorned with torn, faded banners and tapestries. The extinguished fireplace exuded a chilly aura...

Suddenly, a rustling sound came.

Following the direction of the noise, Leon looked over but saw nothing.

A rat?
