Chapter 35 - 26 Bai Fu will ensure the Wildfire Gang's continued greatness [Combo chapter for follow-up reading]_2

She couldn't offer much else, but Profession Knowledge Books were a different story; the Wildfire Gang's library had no less than seven or eight of them!

She could totally bring these books out for players to level up.

However, there was one thing to note: she couldn't just give these Profession Knowledge Books out willy-nilly.

Bai Fu had two considerations.

First, giving the books to players too easily might make them forget her kindness within a few days; only by stringing them along a bit longer and having the players give something in return, could they really feel the "sincerity" she was putting forth.

Second, she wanted to balance the players' power; right now she feared both the players suffering, getting so disheartened by the Wildfire Gang's beatings, and the players being too badass, knocking down the Wildfire Gang in no time and then running off to play elsewhere without her.

After checking out her new loot, Bai Fu opened up Star Travel Society.

Just as she had expected, the reason the game suddenly notified her of the completion of the Camp Task was because the players had retreated from that beaten and battered stronghold.

Although the hard-earned stronghold was gone, the players' spirits were high, not mourning the loss of the stronghold for even a moment.

As a member of the Wildfire Gang camp, Bai Fu had Camp Tasks, and players opposing the Wildfire Gang had the task to destroy them.

The post-battle tally showed that, aside from the few players who did nothing but get killed, all the other players who participated tonight earned big; the highest earners jumped up 2 levels in one breath, and even the ones who earned the least scored a pure gain of 2,300 Experience.

The Abandoned Cooling Factory's district had turned into a veritable Haven of Joy.

[So exhilarating, tonight's fight was a blast]

[Paige is really badass, actually managed to dodge that boss's attacks with her moves]

[What badass? She got hit several times, clearly could have dodged if she just ran an extra step]

[Quack, a keyboard warrior indeed, everybody back off!]

[You lot really outdid yourselves, even painting history on your weapons, ugh]

Other than these players, the rest were singing Bai Fu's praises.

[Being able to repel the Wildfire Gang's offensive today, half the credit goes to Fufu. If it weren't for Fufu's risky move to relay the message, we might have been crushed right at the beginning]

[That's our Fufu! The players' most dependable support! Joining the Fu Sect now is not too late!]

[I can't even, some of the female characters in other games never treated me as well as Fufu does]

[Are you talking about a certain game that prides itself on being hardcore and not pandering to the fanboys?]

[Not me, I didn't say anything]

What puzzled Bai Fu was that she didn't see the Fu Sect's top general, Digging Girl, in the Community.

"Where is she?"

After scouring the Community for a while, she finally learned that Digging Girl had popped over to visit the neighborhoods.

The incident started a few days ago when Piano Girl's fans mocked that players in the Abandoned Cooling Factory had been licking Bai Fu's boots for so long; aside from emotional comfort, and quick respawns thanks to Bai Fu's kills, they hadn't gotten any real benefits.

This pissed off a portion of Bai Fu's supporters.

Even if what you said is right, you can't just say it out loud!

And you talk as if praising that Piano Girl has given you any real benefits!

But after tonight, the situation had taken a big U-turn.

Who says there's no benefit to licking Bai Fu's boots?

Not only is there a benefit, but it's a huge one!

A group of Fun-Seekers seized the opportunity and stormed directly into Piano Girl's Newbie Village Community sub-forum.

[Believe in Bai Fu, attain eternity]

[Come out and take your beating]

[The strong should humiliate the weak without mercy!]

By the time Digging Girl reached the scene, the Community was already in total chaos. Unexpectedly, this time, Digging Girl did not add fuel to the fire but instead stepped up to calm the dispute.

[Stop fighting, stop fighting, to each their own, whether you like Fufu or not, there's no problem at all]

This attitude left everyone dumbfounded; you're definitely not Digging Girl. Tell us who you are!

Even the Dragon of Catastrophe, watching the show, was shocked and quickly reached out to feel Digging Girl's forehead.

"You don't have a fever, do you?"

"It's you who's feverish," Digging Girl retorted irritably.

The Dragon of Catastrophe grew even more confused, "Weren't you saying you were waiting for the opportunity to pierce through all the mockery of yesteryears with a fiery Battle Spear? Now the opportunity is here, why are you backing down?"

"I just don't want Fufu to attract unnecessary haters. Besides..." Digging Girl crossed her arms, suddenly bursting into laughter, "there's no need anymore. The true powerhouses don't bully the weak indiscriminately; ignoring those mockers is the biggest retaliation!"

Damn teenagers!

The Dragon of Catastrophe rolled his eyes, "Fine, keep laughing. I'm going to log off."

"Go ahead, log off."

Digging Girl watched as the Dragon of Catastrophe left; she was planning to patrol different areas to see how other players were praising Bai Fu.

...

Deep in the night, at the Wildfire Gang.

Bang bang bang!

The Wildfire Gang boss turned into the master of desk cleaning, sweeping everything off the desk onto the floor.

"Damn fools! Fools! Fools!"

Important things need to be said three times.

Basically, the Wildfire Gang boss was extremely angry; it was beyond his wildest dreams that a sudden raid would turn into a siege, and during the battle, a good number of people died.

These were the core forces of the Wildfire Gang, their deaths would deal no small blow to the Wildfire Gang's power.

The Director of External Affairs quickly admitted his fault, "It was my poor command, my mistake. Fortunately, Bai Fu's extraordinary bravery prevented the situation from worsening."

He brought up Bai Fu's name, and upon hearing it, the Wildfire Gang boss's anger indeed subsided a bit.
