At Master Bridge, which connects Tokyo to Kawasaki, the checkpoint set up near the Tokyo end of the bridge was in shambles; several police cars were smashed and overturned, and about a dozen policemen's bodies were scattered everywhere.
Blood was splattered all over the place.
In front of the checkpoint were dozens of police cars and hundreds of policemen. Even during daytime, so many police lights converged into a red and blue sea. The piercing sound of police sirens continued for a long time, and all the officers stood still.
Behind the checkpoint, a police car with its rear wheel shot out crashed into the railing of the bridge, its front end deformed. Four bodies lay beside it, and further away lay the body of Yoshida Tomo, flung away by the impact, his blood staining the ground a crimson red.
