Chapter 1 - Ch. 1

The full moon rose slowly but surely over the vast fields of Elysium, casting its pale light on the blood-soaked earth below. This celestial harbinger of peace and nocturnal stillness was greeted not with calm, but with bloodthirsty roars and heart-wrenching cries. Loyal vampires fell under the onslaught of beastly demons, their lives extinguished in a relentless tide of violence. Yet the demons fared far worse, their deaths punctuated by anguished shrieks that echoed through the night.

It was war—a brutal, merciless war. For centuries, the vampires had ruled supreme, lords of a planet teeming with diverse races: humans, sirens, vampires, and demons. Each resided in their own realms, but all bowed to the dominion of the vampire lords. Or so the vampires believed—until the demons revolted. No longer content to serve as 'slaves,' they rose in defiance, their fury igniting this bloody conflict.

Amidst the chaos, a solitary figure sat astride a warhorse, a bastion of icy calm in the storm of battle. Dimitri, Field Marshal of the Vampire Army and second only to the king, surveyed the carnage with sharp, calculating eyes. His furrowed brow betrayed an uncharacteristic unease as if he were waiting for something—or someone. Orders barked from his lips, carrying over the din of war, his voice cold and commanding.

Any general might have felt uneasy in his position. The war had raged for three days without respite. His forces were weary, their strength waning, while the demons, relentless in their rebellion, continued to summon reinforcements.

"Fucking demons," Dimitri muttered, his mind racing. Who knows how long they've been planning this rebellion? What's k—

ROAR!!!

A deafening roar tore through the heavens, silencing his thoughts and stilling the battlefield. The skies darkened, as though even the moon recoiled in fear. But it wasn't a cloud that obscured its light—it was a dragon. A massive, pitch-black dragon, its scales adorned with eerie, bluish luminescent markings. The moment its roar thundered across the field, the Demon King Yama's face turned ashen. In stark contrast, the vampires erupted in wild cheers, their spirits reinvigorated, as if the dragon's presence alone had infused them with renewed ferocity.

For the demons, this sudden surge in the vampires' morale spelled disaster. Their ranks began to crumble, falling swiftly to vampire claws, fangs, and blades. With a few powerful beats of its wings, the dragon descended, landing with a resounding thud in the heart of the demon horde.

From his vantage point, Dimitri allowed himself a cruel smile. "It's your doom, Yama," he sneered.

The demons, panicked and desperate, instinctively created a wide circle around the dragon and its rider. They turned their backs to the vampire army, focusing all their attention on the terrifying duo that had landed in their midst. It was a grave mistake. The vampires seized the opportunity, hacking into the exposed demon ranks with renewed savagery.

The battlefield descended further into chaos. Blood and fire painted the night, and Dimitri, his gaze fixed on the dragon's rider, prepared for the inevitable turning point. Victory—or annihilation—hovered on the edge of the blade.
