The dock worker who robbed him didn't even face a quick trial. The police used "Don't cause us any more trouble" as a reprimand and closed the case.
It wasn't just the local workers who discriminated and harmed them; even the police, who represented justice, discriminated against and bullied them.
This left many illegal immigrants in despair, for here, even the police and the law were against them, and they lacked even the most basic human rights.
