Chapter 1 - CHAPTER ONE: TURNED TABLES.

"Get the hell out of my office, you piece of shit! You're fired!!" A young male in his luxurious office raised his voice at the lady across from him, pointing at the exit in evident rage.

He was dressed like the typical billionaire he was: fit in a crisp suit, his groomed hair complementing his chiseled features, radiating an aura of wealth and confidence.

Topping the 77th floor, Derrick's office occupied the entire top floor of his skyscraper, a lavish sanctuary that showcased his wealth and power. The room was a masterpiece of modern design, with floor-to-ceiling windows that wrapped around the perimeter, and a plush Persian rug below offering breathtaking views of the city skyline.

The beautiful lady standing across the desk was Melissa, his ex-fiancée and presently despised individual. And at this moment, he had just fired her for bringing him coffee late.

"Please, sir, it wasn't my fault. There was a malfunction with the coffee machine, and—"

"There's no need explaining; you are getting the hell out of this building, and now," Derrick cut in, not giving her a chance to explain.

Melissa worked under Derrick in his company as one of the top receptionists, only because his wife Sasha had begged him to let her. But even at that, Derrick couldn't bear the irritation of knowing she was on his property.

He really despised her that much. And today, he had just found another reason to fire her, and it didn't seem like he was ready to waste the opportunity.

"Will you leave, or do you want me to throw you out myself?" Derrick asked, making Melissa almost go to her knees. Melissa felt a surge of desperation. She couldn't lose this job. She had bills to pay, a son to feed, and losing this job would make it harder for her to get another, knowing she didn't fit into the standard for a proper job.

"Please, don't do this," she begged, her hands clasped together. "I'll do anything. I'll work extra hours, take on more responsibilities..."

"There will be no need for that, thank you. Now leave; you're getting on my fucking nerves already." Derrick's voice escalated violently, his face reddening with rage as strands of hair fell across his forehead.

"Melissa's eyes welled up with tears as she realized she was about to lose everything. But as she looked at Derrick's smug face, something inside her snapped. She took a deep breath, as her expression transformed from desperation to frustration".

"Why are you doing this, Derrick?"

"That's Mr. Derrick to you, bitch! Call the name with respect," Derrick cut in, shunning Melissa with an irritated frown. "I told you from the start you wouldn't last here. This shouldn't be a surprise to you. Now get the fuck outta my office"!!

Melissa knew Derrick had a dislike for her, but she never knew it had gotten to this extent. It really hurt her a lot. But what hurt her the most was how he disrespected her. At that point, she realized that nothing she said was going to make a difference in any way. She knew she was going to lose the job either way if she didn't do something and fast.

She took a good look at Derrick, then chuckled, breaking the silence in the office. Then she let out a confident smile that left Derrick confused for a moment. She stepped forward, pulled the seat before her back, and helped herself into it.

"And what the fuck do you think you're doing?" Derrick asked as he watched her cross her legs and relax on the chair, letting her head rest back as she let out a deep breath of sudden comfort.

"I just happen to have a feeling that today will be the last you ever raise your voice at me, Derrick," Melissa said with a calm demeanor, keeping her gaze fixed on the handsome young man across the mahogany desk. But somehow, her statement made Derrick chuckle.

Melissa's sudden courage was confusing but it provoked Derrick. "You've got some balls, bitch," he spat, swinging a finger at her. "You better remember your place, or I'll put you there myself. Now get the hell out of my office; I swear I won't fucking repeat myself."

"I never liked working for a selfish and heartless fool like you anyway. Ive learnt enough lessons from our relationship". Melissa said, ignoring his requests for her to leave. Derrick's jaws clench in rage as he tried to contain his anger but he understood her well.

—————

2 years in a relationship, all going well until a faithful morning Derrick decided to come back from a trip early to surprise his fiancée Melissa, only to find her in bed with his best friend Louis.

The next morning, the news had it that Derrick Sanchez and Melissa Rodriguez had a major breakup for reasons that must be kept confidential. And Louis Mike (his best friend's) body was found near a riverbank the next morning.

Melissa knew for a fact that Derrick was responsible for Louis's death but back then, she dared not speak.

And what annoyed her the most was the fact that she was sure Derrick cheated on her too, but she just was never able to catch him in the act like he did to her. She knew she was lucky he spared her life back then.

She knew the risks she took falling in love with a mafia billionaire. But she already tasted the services his money could render when she was with him. She tasted the life a billionaire could offer, and she wasn't ready to let it go.

Her plan was simple: win his love back, and hope things get back to the way they used to be. But with what Derrick displayed this morning, she knew that for sure that he had no more love for her. And she wasn't ready to take anymore nonsense.

'I'm not fucking going back to be the poor helpless bitch I once was, Derrick'. Melissa thought as she looked Derrick in the eye.

"You know I thought maybe I could bear it all and things would work out with time, but.—

"Work out?" Derrick cut in with a provoked, confused, and irritated expression. "Is this supposed to be a joke?" he asked, standing up from his seat.

"Trust me, you're going to wish it was," Melissa replied, cutting him short then sat upright, looking Derrick in the eye. "From now on, you're going to do whatever the fuck I tell you to."

Derrick's eyes narrowed. "And why is that?"he asked he wanted to know the reason behind this newfound courage of hers.

"I know all about your little affair, Derrick," Melissa said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I know how you've been sneaking around behind your wife's back, fucking her own mother." Melissa spat, making Derrick freeze. As a heavy silence followed.

Her words seemed to hit Derrick like a brick to the face as he stood still for a moment, looking at Melissa with wide eyes.

"What the hell are you talking about?" Derrick asked, trying to compose himself.

"You heard me right," Melissa said with certainty. "I know about you and your sweet mother-in-law. I know you both have been having some private time together."

At that point, Derrick's unintentional silence had already sold him out, and he knew it. "You do know that's a really huge accusation to place on someone," Derrick said, trying to regain control. "And you don't even have any proof."

Melissa locked eyes with him for a few seconds, then flashed a sly smile. She rummaged through her purse, pulled out her phone, and played a video. With a mischievous glint in her eye, she stretched out the device, offering it to Derrick, who immediately took the phone from her grasp.

Derrick froze immediately, his eyes met the screen. He couldn't believe his eyes. It was a clear video of him banging his mother-in-law, her passionate moans echoing in the office from the device in his grasp.

He lost a little grip on the phone but quickly held it firm back, making it slip a little. "Seems like someone's been spying on me," Derrick thought, still trying to digest what he was seeing at the moment.

"You might want to turn down the volume," Melissa said, bringing Derrick back to reality. He complied immediately, looking around in obvious fear.

"You know what happens when everyone gets to know about this," Melissa said, breaking the silence, making Derrick look back up at her as she stood up from her seat.

Her curves were accentuated in a stunning red Versace strapless tube dress that fell just above her knees. Her skin glowed vibrant under the even lights, and her dark hair framed her heart-shaped face as she gazed at Derrick.

Derrick smacked his lips, then chuckled lightly as he took a good look at the lady before him. "Are you threatening me, bitch?" he asked, pointing at his chest.

"I'm sure your lovely wife wouldn't mind if she saw you drilling her mother to the peak of ecstasy with the same meat stick you fed her every night," Melissa teased, walking closer to Derrick.

She could see the fear in his eyes and she liked it.

"How is this even possible?" Derrick thought, trying to hide his panic, but he couldn't. Blowing up in rage, he slammed the phone against the floor. "Don't you fucking threaten me, bitch!" he shouted, running his hands through his hair as he began pacing.

"You didn't think I had the video only on my phone, did you?" Melissa said, maintaining her confidence. "I have multiple sources, so don't you bother yourself." She said, pulling out a cigarette and a lighter from her purse, lighting the stick in her lips.

"Do you really think this scares me?" Derrick sneered, his calm tone belied by the fury in his eyes. "I swear I am going to fucking—"

"Kill me?" Melissa cut in. "You're gonna kill me the same way you killed Louis, huh?" Melissa asked, not getting a reply, just a death glare. She smiled sweetly, blowing smoke into the air.

"Firstly, I'll send this video to your wife, Sasha. You should know what that means. And it's not just Sasha you should be worried about, you know." She leaned closer with a smile. "It's her father and the ruthless personality he has. He will literally end you. And I can already think of seven ways he'll do it. Not to mention what this will do to your reputation."

Derrick's eyes, red and moist with rage, looked at her. "Well, I don't think you have the guts."

Melissa's gaze locked onto Derrick's with the most calm expression. "You should know when I'm serious, Derrick." She sauntered over to his desk, sitting on the edge with her legs crossed. "So, unless you want that to happen... you'll do as I say." She said, dragging from her cigarette.

Being a popular multi-billionaire, Derrick knew what this video would do to his career. Especially with other business partners, not to mention the shame he would bring on his family. There was too much at stake, and he knew this for a fact. So, with a calm expression, he let out a deep breath and asked, "What do you want?"
