Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: The Burden of a Savior

Makoto stood at the edge of the celestial expanse, his mind swirling with the enormity of what God had just revealed. Solnox, the Demon Lord, wasn't just a threat to the world he had known—he was a threat to every realm, every reality that existed. Makoto's role in all of this wasn't just to stand by and watch. He was the one chosen to stop the catastrophe, the one to confront Solnox and restore balance to the Multiverse.

Yet, as the weight of the responsibility settled on his shoulders, Makoto couldn't help but feel small, like a mere speck in the vast universe. He had been an ordinary, unlucky teenager—a boy who always seemed to stumble into misfortune. But now, his fate had taken a turn he never could have imagined. Now, he was tasked with saving worlds, with fighting a being of unimaginable power.

"Makoto," God said, his voice calm yet heavy with the knowledge of what was to come. "The path ahead of you will not be easy. You have chosen to take on this burden, to protect the realms from the chaos that Solnox threatens to bring. But understand this—the path of a savior is fraught with peril. You will face unimaginable challenges, and many times, you will feel the weight of your task crushing you."

Makoto swallowed hard, his fists clenching at his sides. He knew that there would be no easy victories, no shortcuts to success. Everything he had learned so far—from the vastness of the Multiverse to the twisted nature of Solnox—had made it clear that the battle would be long and brutal.

"I understand," Makoto replied, his voice steady but laced with uncertainty. "But if this is what I have to do to protect the people I care about… then I'll do it. I'll fight until the end."

God's eyes softened, as though searching for something within Makoto. Perhaps it was strength, or determination. But whatever it was, Makoto knew that the godly figure saw something in him, something that made him worthy of this responsibility.

"You are brave," God said. "But bravery alone will not be enough. Solnox is a being of darkness, chaos, and destruction. He feeds off of the negative emotions—fear, doubt, hatred—that exist within every living creature. You must learn to master not only your own abilities but the very forces that Solnox uses to weaken his enemies."

Makoto nodded, the reality of the situation sinking in. This was no longer just about stopping a single villain; it was about facing the very darkness that threatened the fabric of existence. Solnox didn't just fight with brute strength—he fought with emotions, with the fears and doubts that lay hidden in every heart.

"You must learn to control your emotions, Makoto," God continued, his tone becoming more serious. "It is natural to feel fear, to feel doubt when faced with a threat like Solnox. But those emotions can become your greatest enemy if you allow them to control you. You must learn to stand firm in the face of that darkness, to resist its pull."

Makoto felt a wave of uncertainty wash over him. His entire life had been defined by bad luck and the constant feeling of being powerless. How could he stand firm against a force that thrived on fear? How could someone like him, who had always been the victim of his own insecurities, possibly hope to face an entity like Solnox?

God seemed to sense his doubts. With a sigh, he placed a hand on Makoto's shoulder, the warmth of his touch offering some comfort amidst the turmoil.

"Remember, Makoto, you are not alone in this," God said. "You have your friends—Riku, Daichi, Tenma, Ichiro. They may be far from you now, but the bond you share with them is stronger than anything Solnox can ever wield. It is love, friendship, and the connections we make that are the greatest power in the universe. Even in the face of darkness, the light of those connections will guide you. Trust in that light, and trust in yourself."

Makoto closed his eyes for a moment, letting God's words sink in. His friends. Riku, Daichi, Tenma, and Ichiro. They were the reason he had sacrificed himself in the first place. They were the reason he was standing here now, facing the impossible. They believed in him. They cared for him. And though he couldn't see them now, he could feel their presence within him—strong, steady, and unwavering.

The fear that had been gnawing at him began to lessen. He wasn't alone. Not in the literal sense, nor in the emotional sense. He had a purpose, and he had the strength to see it through. If Solnox was a force of destruction, then he—Makoto—would be the force that fought to protect, to rebuild, and to restore balance.

"I won't fail them," Makoto said softly, his voice firm with newfound determination. "I will stop Solnox. No matter what it takes."

God nodded, his expression approving. "That is the spirit of a true hero, Makoto. But understand this—the power you are about to receive is not a gift given lightly. It comes with a price. If you lose control, if you allow the power to overtake you, you will be erased from existence. The balance of the Multiverse will collapse, and the worlds you seek to protect will be lost. The responsibility you bear is immense, but I believe in your ability to carry it."

Makoto felt the full weight of the words, but they didn't scare him. They only strengthened his resolve. He had been given a second chance at life, a chance to protect the people he loved, and he would not squander it.

"I won't let that happen," he said, his voice full of conviction.

God smiled, his eyes glimmering with approval. "Then it is time, Makoto. Prepare yourself. Your training begins now."

As God extended his hand, a bright light enveloped Makoto, and the very air around him seemed to hum with energy. The power he was about to receive would change him, shape him into something greater than he had ever imagined. But it would also test him, push him to his limits.

In that moment, Makoto understood that he was not just a young man who had been unlucky in life. He was now a warrior—a savior, entrusted with the future of the Multiverse.

And no matter how heavy the burden, he would carry it with all the strength he had. For his friends, for the world, and for everything that still had a chance to survive.
