In the room of a small house, a strange young man rested in a bed completely covered by sheets. Before Leo and his cousin Priscilla found him in the forest, he seemed to be on the verge of death because of how skeletal he looked; however, for some strange reason, now he looked a little better.
The boy was a young man with black hair; his eyelashes were long, and he was somewhat handsome.
"Oh poor kid, I wonder what he's been through to end in such a state" said Priscilla, looking sadly.
Leo ignored Priscilla's remarks, and with a frown, he observed the objects of that stranger, which were on a shelf near the bed.
A worn leather suitcase, the damaged boots he wore, and the rest of his armor that was completely damaged, but what caught Leo's attention was a dark ornate double-edged sword.
Leo looked absorbed in the blade; compared to the other objects, the sword was impeccable.
Leo noticed a similarity between the sword and his sister Liz's necklace because it evoked the same sensation in him. With that in mind, Leo brought his hand closer to that sword.
"No one can touch Furia, only me." In that same instant, as fast as thunder, the strange boy suddenly got up from the bed and grabbed Leo by the forearm to prevent him from touching the sword.
Even so, Leo's index finger lightly brushed the blade of the sword. "Ouch." Blood flowed from Leo's finger, even though he just brushed the sword.
"I warned you" said the boy with a calm voice.
Then, after looking around the room, the boy spoke. "Where am I? And who are you two?"
The boy's face was completely expressionless; he spoke, but there were no emotions of pain or joy.
"You are in Verulia's village; we found you near some bushes. By the way, how do you feel? Does something hurt you? Do you want us to call a doctor?"
No, I'm fine."
The boy's eyes ran over Priscilla's body; she tilted her head slightly, wondering what was going on. But after being discovered, the boy looked away.
"???"
Priscilla is a girl with golden braids; she has beautiful blue eyes and always has a kind smile.
After a few seconds, the boy spoke relieved but still with a deadpan expression, "I see, so you have rescued me" and adding with a gesture of gratitude, "Thank you very much."
"N-no! , please get up! Don't push yourself; you must regain your strength."
Leo's frown deepened; his anger was increasing more and more. "Enough! Don't talk to this guy, Pricilla! ... And you kid, what business do you in this town?"
"Leo, calm down!"
Leo lunged at the boy, gripping him by the collar, and spoke aggressively, looking at Priscilla. "Don't you see he is a knight at service to the king?" Then looking straight into the eyes of the boy, he roared, "Now tell me what brings you to this town; spit it out, you dog of the kingdom!"
The boy didn't even answer or react; instead, he kept his gaze locked on Leo.
Leo, although completely blinded by anger, took a good look at the boy's eyes; they were completely red and deep, without emotion, although sure and ready for anything. Leo felt a strange sense of danger.
"Leo, we cannot condemn this boy for simply being a knigth; your father was one too, right? Besides, he always taught us that a true knight, before raising his weapons, had to discern if the person in front of them was friend or enemy, remember?
"Tch," Leo clicked his tongue and released the kid.
"Leo, wait!"
"I can't wait! While I waste time here, my sister must be in danger!"
Prisilla looked at him with a worried face. "Leo, maybe you must be tired, but what sister are you talking about? Only you and I live here. Seriously, you're already worrying me."
Leo, with a look of someone who had lost his sanity while tears came out of his eyes, murmured, "So you don't remember her either?
"Leo..."
Leo bit his lips, but after realizing something, he muttered, "That's it! she might know!"
Taking his sister Liz's necklace in his hands, Leo began to shout to the necklace, "Ginivere, please answer me! Where is Liz? Ginivere!"
However, Ginivere did not answer this time.
"L-Leo" Liz tried to touch Leo on the shoulder, but Leo quickly avoided her.
"Don't look at me like that; I'm not crazy!"
"Leo Wait!..."
Blammmm! He left. while slamming the neclace to the floor.
"..."
"Oh no, excuse my cousin's attitude. He's been acting weird lately."
"It's fine." Marlo responded, but strangely he seemed more gloomy and catious. Liz thought perhaps that reaction was due to Leo's rudeness.
"Oh, sorry, I haven't introduced myself, isn't it? My name is Priscilla; what's your name?"
"Marlo"
"Marlo, why did you come to this town? Do you remember what happened to you before you collapsed?"
He spoke with vacant eyes, as if he was recalling the scene "I wanrdered from place to place, without any direction or objective, when I was attacked by monsters, however, I don't remember anything else."
"Hmm, I understand.... Wait! monsters?"
"Yes, five of them I think" Marlo nodded.
Priscilla was lost in thoughts; maybe Leo was telling the truth—were there monsters lurking in the town? Then she shifted her gaze at Marlo again; however, she caught him once again staring at her, but this time with a menacing gaze.
"B-By the way, are you working for the kingdom Marlo?"
"I don't know..."
"You don't know? And what about your age? Do you know your age?"
"I don't know either, I... To tell you the truth... I don't remember anything about myself, well, most things."
How strange! How is it possible that he doesn't remember anything but he does remember his name? She thought, but, she didn't want to express her doubt because Marlo seemed somewhat irritated by the constant questions.
She stopped asking questions while Marlo's somber expression became even more darkar
After a long silence, Marlo said. "That phrase you said was interesting." Then asked Pricilla with a sharp look while he drew his saber, "Are you my ally or my enemy?"
"M-marlo, what's wrong?"
Marlo completely ignored her comments. "Why do you have an amulet? Are you one of them?"
"What? Amulet, what do you mean?"
"Don't act dumb! .... Well, it doesn't matter; I'll have to find the answer myself anyway." Sighed Marlo.
Once he said this, Marlo lifted his left while glowed a purple energy, flooding the room with the same purple color. He finished by pronounced two words.
"Control kingdom"
