Chapter 1 - The survival sacrifice.

A fierce howl echoed through the forest that send even the very best predators of the full moon, wolves, back to hiding with tails between their legs..

It's vibration travelled across the forest and made contact with a certain cabin seemingly build in the middle of nowhere deep in the forest.

Inside, a family of five were peacefully having dinner but, hearing the howl, the woman of about 33 years old suddenly shot from her chair while standing as her heart started to race faster.

"They've found us!" She nervously spoke while looking at her husband who, with his usual parental instincts, turned over and look at his three children; a young girl of about twenty years, a boy of seventeen and another young beauty of the same age as the boy.

"Why are you'll look triggered." The boy muttered while looking at his mom, dad and the older sister who for some reasons looked terrified. "That's just some normal wolf howl and we've heard it almost every single night since we moved here." He spoke.

"No, Andy. That's not just some normal wolf howl." His dad, Owen Smoak, responded while standing and walk over to the window. "That's a werewolf's howl." He added.

"Were what now!?" Andy responded with perplexity written all around his.

"Sorry, son. No time to explain." His mother, Jen Smoak, responded while dashing to her bedroom.

It only took a few seconds and she was already back, but the Jen that had walked into that room and the one that had return were completely different.

She had this strange armor covering her entire body that were vibrating with raw energy, and on her back was a long silver colored straight sword that was emitting a certain strong and terrifying aura.

This all made her look like a every experienced warrior who had been through countless of battles, that forged her to a very skillful and a tactical warrior.

"What the... If someone won't explan to me what's happening right now my head is gonna explode of surprises." Andy spoke after seeing her mother like this.

But instead of responding to him, Jen turned over to her older child before speaking, "Amanda, prepared the barrier runes and start crafting the teleportion circle as quick as you can. We will buy you as much time as we can"

"Noted!" Amanda responded while dashing to a certain corner of the house.

"Andy, Aniwah." Jen spoke while turning to her younger children who seemed perplexed. " I'm sorry that we kept you in dark for this whole long. But trust us. We did it for a good reason.

"If we survive, which would be a miracle since my coven isn't here to offer an extra support, I promise I'll explain everything to you." She spoke while planting a kiss on Aniwah's forehead.

She then walked over to Andy and placed a certain chilly pendent with a crescent shaped moon hanging on it and with a dark crimson diamond shaped-like crystal hanging between the edges of the crescent moon, around Andy's neck.

"Make sure that never get out of your neck no matter what!" She spoke while planting another kiss on Andy's head.

"Ahh, hunny, do you mind postponing the cuddling for later? I'm counting about seven pairs of pink glowing eyes out here." Owen spoke while still looking through the window.

"Pink!? Werewolves don't have pink glowing eyes." Jen muttered in confusion as she walked over to take a look for herself.

Her heart pounded even more louder after confirming her husband's words as seven large figers could be seen standing outside of their cabin.

They stood tall, about four meters, with terrifying pink glowing eyes that would make anybody's heart to sunken. They had black fur covering their entire body and a shadow like mist emitting from the deepest of the fur.

Their extended razor sharp fingernails were dark black in color and for some reasons looked corrupted, and a black substances seemed to be licking from their extended mutt like mouths that made them look even more terrifying.

"Protect us dear mother nature." Jen muttered the moment her eyes landed on this creatures.

"What's wrong, mom!?" Amanda asked since, from the two hundred years of being raised by her parents, her mother used to utter those words only when she is terrified to the core.

"It's Quinsela. She's the one who's after us." Jen responded while gulping heavily.

The name Quinsela isn't an unheard name even to the young witches that were yet to cast their first spell. It's a well popular name as she's the reason why most Witches had to relocate from the first world to this new world full of humans.

She corrupted the FirstWorld with her chaos magic and forced the world to die slowly. And now it's the responsibility of all witches and warlocks to cultivate this pure magic of this new world and travel back to their world and restore the balance to revive the damage being caused.

And as if this wasn't stressing enough, the witches have to live in hidings as their other enemies; vampires and werewolves, accompanied them to this world and they have been in battle with each other ever since, with each species fighting to trace a certain stone known as the Stone of the cursed, a very powerful tool that's believed to grant one a godly capabilities.

That's why Jen was terrified after hearing the werewolf's howl, but this werewolves were part of Quinsela's army and this made them even more terrifying than an Alpha werewolf.

"Ahh, is this the right moment to add some more bad news or... I'm just gonna say it anyways... The runes are not working, they are corrupted and the cabin is completely vulnerable." Amanda muttered in her paranoid voice.

"Then we fight!" Own spoke and, just as those words escaped his mouth, something strange happened around his body.

His entire body from the toe to the last tip of his hair emitted a radiating blue aura for about five seconds, and as the light disappeared, Owen now looked completely changed.

A strange armor, just like that of Jen, could be seen covering his entire body, and with a great black sword on his back.

They were alive and vibrating with some raw energy and with a very powerful aura coming from them.

"So that's how she did." Andy muttered while playfully punching Aniwah on her shoulder, who for some reasons had been silent for all this long.

"No, we don't fight. They'll kill us all." Jen responded while in a trance start. " Death is the true path to power, Knowledge is the true tool for survival. I have a plan." She spoke while looking at Andy.

"Mom. No!" Amanda responded immediately as if reading her mother's mind.

"It's the only way."

"You can't do that. You are not even sure if it would work."

"It has to, if they tracked us to here, it mean this would work and buy as some more time." Jen responded while walking towards Andy.

"Son, do you trust me?" She asked.

The question came from the blues and Andy was a bit hesitant to respond. But remembering everytime from his childhood to now, his mother never gave him a reason to doubt her, so why should he?

But still, he couldn't shake this feeling like something strange and terrifying was about to happen, as his mother never ask, or do anything if not for a good reason.

"I do." He nervously responded.

"Good, then you gonna need to trust me on this." Jen responded and without giving him a chance to do anything, she grabbed Andy by his collar and dragged him outside of the house.

"It's him you want, I give him to you and you leave the rest of us unharmed." She spoke while to the wolves.

"Mom, what are you doing?" Andy asked in a terrified and perplexed state.

"Trust me, son." She responded while turning her attention back to the corrupted werewolves. "Deal!?" She asked.

The werewolves looked around each as if they were telepathically communicating and, after exchange some quick node with each other, they turned back to Jen and gave a node in unison.

"I'm truly sorry, Andy." Jen muttered while pushing Andy towards the wolves as he charged back to the house and lock the door behind her.

Andy tripped and fall, and just as he raised his head, he found himself surrounded by seven werewolves.

He looked terrified looking at this beasts while wondering what his mother's plans were, and how long would it really takes for it to work.

One of the wolves suddenly raised it's claw and made a quick slash to the side, and what could be seen next was almost half of Andy's neck on its claw.

His body crushed back on the ground as life started seeping out of him, and the werewolves made sure to watch this to the end.

About thirty seconds later, Andy was completely overwhelmed by pain and the too much lose of blood, and no matter how much he fought to remain alive, he just couldn't hold on any longer as his eyelids finally pulled together and completely shut, and with his heartbeat running mute.

And after confirming this, the werewolves started walking away one after the other until they were all completely gone, and just as they disappeared, the crystal hanging on the crescent shaped moon pendant around Andy's neck started emitting a dark shadow like crimson light and something strange strange started happening around Andy's neck as it started to repair and become as complete as new.
