Meiyou looked at the sky, memorizing each of the stars. He started to feel really sleepy, after hearing the true story of "Two Moons" but whatever people say. The "Two Moons" is a pathetic story to him.
Why?
Because "Love" is not one sided.
But the tradition of the elder people to sell their own daughters and then later on, cry when they see them dead is truly pathetic. "Old people" he murmurs before remembering his own past.
Meiyou original village, is something he doesn't remember, but he remembers one thing -
That day, he was only six, his father had been hurting his mother emotionally, so much that she had committed suicide.
"Ah what was it?" he murmurs, before he closed his eyes, drifting off to remember the past.
He looked over the dead body, he couldn't even cry, he was just so shocked. His father's side family gazed upon him, waiting to see if he says anything about the past of his father and mother. But truly, he couldn't care much. To them, or to his mother, he was nothing more than an investment piece.
He saw grandfather, crying, all those crocodile tears. But it hurts for him to see this, cause the woman, are exploited. They get sent off to war or to marry someone so pathetic that they die with regrets. This was the true life that his mother got.
After all does his grandfather cares? No, secretly he told the real "murderer" to marry someone else, and she was "old" anyways. He remarked that she was "useless", "clumsy" and overall "nothing" to them.
Now,
Meiyou thought about Ning Zhou now, she was somewhat like his mother. Truly a pathetic state to be. When Meiyou said the story was "pathetic" the "pathetic" means two things. "Ning Fan" and "Yei Long", two pathetic men and "Ning Zhou" a pathetic life.
Meiyou could not help but think about his mother.
After all, his mother wished that he was dead, he couldn't feel anything but sadness after hearing his grandfather's words.
Meiyou, looked at his past life with those people. All looking down, calling them their son, spreading their wisdom, when he was ten. But what was their wisdom? Meiyou closed his eyes drifting off to the deep slumber of their so called "wisdom".
"As a man, you are the one who's responsible for everything. You control the house, you are everything, every decision comes from you" his grandfather said,
Meiyou's reply?
"Grandpa, even a corrupt powerful leader can be kicked down, if his decision only benefits him"
"Meiyou, woman, you can choose any how you want, if you're strong enough", his dad said
Meiyou's reply?
"You choose mother, still she died didn't she?"
"Meiyou, son, be kind to others, forgive your father for everything he has done" his grandma said
Meiyou's reply?
"Forgiveness comes from the peace of the heart, but only to those who are willing to change, not to those who just want to make themselves look better"
The whole room went silent. His father raised up his voice, but Meiyou's grandfather silenced him.
"Leave us to talk alone.." his grandfather said.
Everyone left the place. Meiyou and his grandfather sat in silence, before he spoke - "Meiyou, we are trying to teach you good and how to live in this world".
Meiyou looked at his grandfather and said - "Good? Evil? How do you define it? Good and Evil are just nothing but traditional beliefs, you forced down to the family"
His grandfather was taken back by this. He clenched his fist, as she said "Meiyou, we are your world, what we taught you, applied to the world we are giving you"
Meiyou stood up and said - "Your world is pathetic!"
His grandfather kept his cool and said - "Meiyou, comply or .. die"
Meiyou looked at his grandfather straight and said - "Well, your hell is way better than you heaven"
That was it, his grandfather, used his sword, and hit Meiyou, shoulder with it.
Meiyou held on to his hand and the sword only leaving a cut. Deep red blood, covered his shirt, but he was silent.
Meiyou looked him in the eyes. The grandfather was shocked. He said - "You little piece of shit".
Meiyou kicked him down. He picked up the sword and said - "You die with regrets, pathetic indeed" and proceeded to stab his Adam's apple, hitting directly at the larynx.
Grandfather eyes widen in horror, he was trembling in fear. His old, ragged hands, held on to the sword. He felt his larynx was destroyed.
The Grandfather looked at him, regretting the four year training he gave him, on how to handle sword. He regretted on underestimating him as a kid, and not using his Handsmen technique.
The Grandfather tried to use his anger as his weapon, holding on to the sword, hoping that crimson light of the hatred might destroy it, but Meiyou's aura, shook him with fear, damaging him instead.
Meiyou was still silent. Looking at his trembling, grandfather, he pulled the sword out and pierced his heart. He left it there, till he died.
Meiyou eyes opened once, again, he ran away from home after that, is all he could remember. But the scar that his grandfather left on his left shoulder, is more like a curse. He wants to forget the past, but the cold winds not outside of him, but inside of him, reminds him that he killed his grandfather.
Meiyou, held onto the scar, his fingertips, dancing, memorizing the scar. He then closed his eyes, feeling what he had done, may not be right but it was for the better.
He looked over the old man, and looked away. They were going through a forest region. Meiyou decided to stay on alert. He looked here and there. His eyes, didn't miss a single picture of the path.
Even though, there was no sudden movement, Meiyou can tell that something was there.
The horse suddenly stopped on his tracks. It neighed, like it wants to return. The old man, shouted and whipped it again and again, demanding to move further.
Meiyou shouted - "STOP!!"
The old man, understood and he complied with the horse, returning.
Meiyou got off the cart and said - "Thank you, old man, I really appreciate your help"
The old man was surprised, many thoughts ran through his mind, but he could not complain, the old man understood that, Meiyou, is thinking of something as he said - "Oh.. well no worries Jan Shin, hey make sure to stay safe out there, you're still a young Handsmen" and he left, turning his cart around.
Meiyou turned around and walked away.
Ten Minutes later..
The old man, looked around, noticing any signs. He understood that Meiyou, felt something was there, that's why he is pretending only, even he knows that Meiyou is secretly following him. The tension in the environment tensed up. The old man breathing, got heavier and heavier, but he stayed calm. He knows that if the thieves spot his unusual behavior they might as well attack in a different way.
All of a sudden, a man, jumped and held a sword in his hand, ready to cut the old man's head off.
The man smiled, swinging his sword, ready to kill him.
The old man, shivered in fear. His eyes, widens as he felt like that this was his last moment. He held his arms up, protecting his vitals.
Suddenly a bamboo stick, flying, hit the man on his head.
He landed, on the cart, holding his head as his sword, left his hand.
"WHAT BASTAR--" but before he could say, Meiyou held his sword and cut his head off.
"This sword is mine, now" Meiyou said, as he placed his finger on the swords, sharp edges, feeling it.
Then he returned to his attentive state.
The old man, trembled in fear, as he saw the head, rolling down his cart. He hid himself, under the cloth wraps and held onto Meiyou's feet, like he's begging not to leave him.
"Ambush" Meiyou said as he looked around, to see any movements.
