Away from prying eyes and ears. The tension in the air felt heavy, as a man stood alone, his eyes squinting in anger at the thought of someone being able to go against him. He was a great sorcerer and his gifts he had treated with respect, but then this person was boldly going against his magic. He had been able to tap a little from the forbidden, wasn't it enough to complete this task.
He put his hand back on the tree, his point of communication. He had memorized the spells countless times in his head so it shouldn't be hard, he spoke to himself. But something was amiss, he could feel deep down that as quiet as the land seemed a grooming war had already been ensued.
The atmosphere held sparks as no noise could be detected, the chirpy birds had miraculously gone quiet. The cackling of the presumed ghosts moving and speaking in sync with the wind seemed to have retired for the day. The sound of the cool breeze couldn't be heard, only the roaring of the winds making the tensed atmosphere have an eery feeling to it.
Time had seized.
'Who could it be?'
Gnashing his teeth in pain and embarrassment as nobody had ever opposed his power, apart from this being. His efforts looked stupid at that moment. He wouldn't dare to accept the embarrassment. Groaning in pain, he stretched forth his left hand towards the tree. If one hand is incapable of fulfilling his wish, the both hands must. But something was amiss, the will of this person felt stronger than his, he connected his thoughts to the persons feelings and her feelings and intentions were genuine in a bid to protect Evergreen.
He grimaced in pain as he shut his eyes tightly. Willing all his energy towards the tree, with a goal this time around to destroy this person and make Evergreen hollow and void. But his actions seemed null as it drained his energy making him weak. But the weak ones are never good enough. In order to acquire the key to the land of the forbidden, to show he is a capable ruler he has to make the wrench who has put him in this condition pay, for the energy he has lost, to make Evergreen void for as long as the blood in his vein flows. As he willed himself to put forth more energy, the force threw him into the air with an aura, so innocent yet so powerful.
' Evil will never prevail ' the voice muttered loudly in his head as the tree turned into dust, disappearing into thin air.
'Who is she?'
The person who is bold enough to strike back. His head pounded in confusion as worry rimmed his eyes.
"The end of you" a voice said from behind him, making his heart skip a beat.
"Morgana" the man called out as he met the slit like eyes of the snake, which turned into a beautiful woman, with her hair colour as dark as the midnight coal
"You seem.... scared Cedric" Morgana said, her voice dripping with venom.
"You feel or you know?" Cedric asked
"That what?" Morgana teased with a smile.
"Don't play with me Morgana, is a bond of seriousness".
"A bond of seriousness you say?" Morgana smiled at him, a sickly smile.
"You make me sick".
"That's what I do, I'm a black witch, wizard".
" I'm no wizard " Cedric snarled at Morgana.
"What then do you think you are? A sorcerer?" Morgana asked with an evil glint in her eyes.
"A sorcerer " Cedric said making Morgana's eyes squint in amusement, bursting into laughter and hissing in between her laughter causing Cedric to frown. Wanting to poke him more, she said "A sorcerer who can't bind a simple spell, so useless "
"Morgana, don't cross the line".
"And if I do Cedric,you will try your useless spells on me?" She hissed making Cedric snap.
"And who do you think you are?"
"A great black witch who has her origin from the great Valerie wife to the blood sucking monster Dracula, the immortal blood sucker, who tapped her powers from the forbidden magic.
"You....."
"I..., what dear Cedric, has the cat caught your tongue? Stuttering like an accepted sacrifice" she tsked.
" How dare you?"
"Are you jealous?" Morgana asked squinting her eyes in amusement as she glared at him.
" Jealous?"
"Jealousy it is, because unlike you I know my gifts and powers"
"You call what you have gifts and powers?"
"If that is a question, my answer is yes" Morgana replied tapping him from behind and appearing in front of him, making him flinch.
"You are scared Cedric, scared of the beast within you".
"I do not have a lurking beast, Morgana "
"You've locked it in Cedric, and it is taking a toll on you" Morgana hissed startling Cedric "And not only that, you are scared of me".
"Morgana!!!" Cedric shouted
"Hush, young one, you do not want to call the attention of the people of Samoa, including the Evergreen beings do you?" Morgana asked with a devious smile, making Cedric grit his teeth."Can you look at that, trying to put a leash on the beast within you " Cedric muttered, he knew what and who he was, he had tapped from the forbidden, so he wasn't surprised but then how did she get a whip of this information.
"Making people sick, causing death, casting spells and controlling one's mind, corrupting their soul, sucking the life out of the people, that's our nature, the power we possess, but there's more to it, that doesn't meet the eyes.
"What do you mean?" Cedric asked.
"I know not feel because she is connected to your killer" Morgana said ignoring him.
"You were being sensible a while ago, but I think sanity has abandoned you, because I'm still alive, standing right in front of you , you forgot our kind can't be killed easily.
"You've accepted we are one ?" Morgana asked her eyes blazing with amusement as she basked in the joy of tormenting Cedric.
"No, I have not" Cedric replied as he pressed his lips in a straight line.
"She will kill us all" Morgana said, her eyes seemingly distant, "....including you" she answered his question.
" How..."
"How do you stop this?" Morgana said completing his question.
"Yes" Cedric replied
"We work together, agreed?"
"How do I trust you?"
"Trust is not vital, loyalty is, the point remains will you be loyal to me and I you" Morgana said looking at Cedric who seemed to be in deep thoughts.
