Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: what a jerk!

Emily let out a deep sigh as she sat down on her couch, feeling a mix of emotions: frustration, tiredness, and a hint of sadness. She was ready to put the events of the previous night behind her and move on with her life. She didn't want to think about jack or what had happened between them. She just wanted to forget and start fresh.

Emily let out a tired groan as she gazed around her messy living room. The clutter and disarray seemed to be staring back at her, making her feel even more exhausted. She rubbed her temples, trying to alleviate the slight headache that still lingered from the previous night's activities.

She had been looking forward to coming home and collapsing onto her couch, but now that she was here, she felt overwhelmed by the state of her living room. Clothes were scattered all over the floor, empty food containers littered the coffee table, and the TV remote was nowhere to be found.

Emily sighed and leaned back into the couch, feeling the soft cushions envelop her. She closed her eyes, letting the weariness wash over her. She knew she should probably get up and start cleaning, but she just couldn't muster the energy.

Just as she was starting to relax, her phone caught her attention. It had been beeping nonstop, and she had ignored it until now. She pulled it out of her pocket and saw that she had twenty missed calls from Jane, her best friend. She also had a few text messages from Jane, all of which were variations of "Where are you?" and "What's going on?"

Emily felt a pang of guilt for not responding to Jane's calls and messages. She knew that Jane was worried about her, and she should have checked in sooner. She quickly scrolled through the messages and saw that Jane had been trying to reach her since the previous night.

She decided to call Jane back and fill her in on what had happened. She took a deep breath and dialed Jane's number, hoping that her friend would be able to offer her some advice and support.

As the phone rang, Emily felt a sense of trepidation. She wasn't sure how much she wanted to share with Jane, but she knew that she needed to talk to someone about what had happened. She just hoped that Jane would be able to listen without judging her.

The phone rang a few times before Jane picked up

"my goodness Emily, where have you been? Jane asked her voice laced with concern " I have been trying to reach you all night, what's going on?"

Emily took a deep breath wondering where to start from

"I'm fine, I am sorry I missed your calls"

"Something happened last night and I ..em I wasn't with my phone" Emily apologize in a low tone

"Come on girl, you could have inform me before leaving, I was really worried Davis and the others were also worried because we couldn't find you" Jane respond from the other end

"I'm sorry" Emily said feeling guilty

"It's okay love, as long as you are fine, there is no problem" jane yawned from the other end

By her tone of voice, it was obvious she didn't have a good sleep last night.

" so what's good, care to share where you went to last night?".

"If I guess right you followed someone home last night" Jane giggles

"Come on stop" Emily responded shyly

"Okay, okay" I won't make any guesses" jane laughed

"Yeah, I followed someone home last night and I….did something I feel so embarrassed about.." Emily stammer, unsure of how to say it

"I knew it, am always right" Jane laughed from the other end

"So how was he, is he handsome?, like girl fill me the details" Jane spoke out excitedly

Emily hearing the tone and excitement from Janes voice sigh In relief, she thought Jane was going to judge her but it seems it's the opposite .

"Are you there" Jane called out

"Yes I am" Emily replied

"I'm waiting for the gist" Jane said

"Well it's really embarrassing and you won't like it" Emily said as she explained everything that happened last night till this morning

"what a jerk" Jane cussed out

"I know, right?" Emily agreed, feeling a mix of emotions: embarrassment, anger, and hurt. "I mean, I thought we had a connection, you know? He was so charming and sweet, and I felt like we really clicked. But I guess I was just a one-night stand to him or something."

Jane's expression turned sympathetic. "Oh, Emily, I'm so sorry. You don't deserve to be treated like that. He's clearly not worth your time or emotions."

Emily sighed, feeling a lump form in her throat. "I know. It's just… I don't know, Jane. I felt like I was really into him, and I thought he felt the same way. But I guess I was just blind to his true nature or something."

"You're not blind, Emily. You're just a romantic, and you see the best in people. That's what makes you so amazing. But sometimes, people take advantage of that, and it's not your fault. It's theirs." Jane comfort from the other end

Emily smiled weakly, feeling a sense of gratitude towards her friend. "Thanks, Jane. Just talking to you makes me feel better."

Jane smiled back from the other end . "That's what friends are for, Em. Now, how about I get you some ice cream and forget about this jerk, okay?"

"Okay, I won't think about it anymore" Emily sigh in conclusion as she end the call

Emily stood up from the from the couch she walk into her bedroom, pull of her clothes and enter her bathroom.

She was shock at to see red marks all over her body, she stare at the mirror for a while her cheek turning red in embarrassment. That jerk wasn't gentle she murmur

Thank goodness Jane isn't here she would have teased the hell out of me.

Emily walk out of the bathroom after taking a long bath , she got herself ready for the day activities.

She took her time to tidy up her house most especially her living room before having lunch.
