Chapter 69 - Chapter 69

Moment

The group buried in the rubble suddenly vanished without a trace.

"Huh?" Satoru muttered quietly, though his eyes remained calm.

"Gone?"

He must have used Izanagi at this moment!

A faint smile tugged at the corners of Satoru's lips.

This is exactly what I was waiting for!

Through his Six Eyes, he had already noticed the Sharingan embedded in the palm of Danzo's hand. In addition to that, he also had a Sharingan implanted in his eye socket—Shisui's eye. However, in such a short amount of time, Danzo's body and Shisui's eye wouldn't have fully synchronized.

He wouldn't dare use Kotoamatsukami now.

That left Izanagi as his only trump card.

Suddenly, a chilling gust of wind surged through the air.

A pale arm darted forward, grabbing Satoru's neck.

Danzo appeared behind him, an eerie smile curling on his lips.

"In the end, I win!" Danzo declared triumphantly.

"It's a mistake to show mercy in battle!"

Danzo was fully aware of Satoru's brief hesitation just moments ago. He didn't understand the reason behind it, but now, victory was his—or so he thought.

Satoru didn't speak; he simply sneered under his mask. The faint smirk on his lips betrayed indifference rather than concern.

Did it work? Not necessarily.

In the blink of an eye, Satoru vanished into thin air, leaving Danzo grasping at nothing but empty air.

"What?!" Danzo muttered, his face frozen in shock.

How is this possible? He… just disappeared?

Initially, Danzo suspected it might be similar to the Flying Thunder God Technique. But upon closer examination, he realized there was no movement, no seals—Satoru simply vanished without a trace.

Even the Fourth Hokage's Flying Thunder God Technique required markings or pre-set formulas. But this…

What kind of technique is this?

Danzo's pupils contracted, and his face paled. The repeated failures had rattled him, leaving him vulnerable.

Now's the moment.

Satoru suddenly reappeared behind Danzo, his slender fingers moving with lightning speed toward Danzo's Sharingan.

With precision, he plucked the fiery-red eye from Danzo's socket and held it in his palm.

Wiping his neck in disgust, Satoru muttered, "Disgusting."

Meanwhile, Danzo screamed in pain, clutching at his now-empty eye socket. The kaleidoscope Sharingan he had painstakingly obtained was gone. His remaining eye filled with terror as he stared at Satoru.

For the first time, Danzo fully understood the massive gap between them.

Who is this man?

Danzo's mind raced. Satoru's outfit—especially the mask—matched the description of the person Minato had mentioned before his death.

Could it be the same individual?

"What are you after?" Danzo asked cautiously, his voice trembling slightly. He took a step back, ready to flee at any moment.

I can't die here. Not now. My ambitions aren't yet fulfilled.

Satoru ignored Danzo's desperate questioning. Raising his right hand, he summoned a wave of stones that floated ominously in the air around him.

"Boom!"

The rubble behind Satoru surged forward like a barrage of arrows, pelting Danzo with relentless force.

In mere seconds, Danzo was buried beneath a mountain of debris. Without a glance back, Satoru disappeared from the scene.

After a long silence…

Danzo clawed his way out of the rubble, his face grim and twisted with rage.

"Find him!" he snarled at his subordinates. "Keep a constant watch on the Uchiha clan. Report any information related to the Uzumaki to me immediately!"

His thoughts churned. This man… his mask, his robes—could he be connected to the Uchiha?

His failure gnawed at him. The sudden attack had completely derailed his carefully laid plans. The Sharingan he had so painstakingly obtained was gone.

Danzo clenched his fists.

Next time, I won't let him escape.

Meanwhile…

Satoru adjusted his blindfold, a faint smirk playing on his lips as he examined the stolen Sharingan in his hand.

He walked leisurely toward the Land of Contact Lenses, a skewer of dango hanging from his mouth.

This trip was fruitful after all.

Soon after, the news of Uchiha Shisui's death spread through the village. The loss dealt a severe blow to the Uchiha clan's morale and strength, seemingly quelling the seeds of rebellion.

Konoha and the Uchiha settled into a fragile, temporary peace.

But Satoru knew better. This peace was a fleeting illusion. The fateful night of the Uchiha's downfall was fast approaching.

This time, though, I'll be ready.

Konoha Village, Hokage's Office

The Third Hokage set down the report in his hands, his expression grave.

He glanced at Kakashi, who stood silently across from him.

"The barrier system near the Uchiha compound has been breached repeatedly," Hiruzen said. "What do you make of this, Kakashi?"

Kakashi, stroking his forehead thoughtfully, replied, "Based on the current intel, we can't determine the intruder's identity or motive. We may need to bolster the barrier teams to respond quickly when an incident occurs."

Hiruzen shook his head. "We can't spare that many resources for this."

Kakashi hesitated before suggesting, "Then we could request the police force to step up their patrols."

He paused, his tone tinged with unease. "Although… the police force is under the Uchiha. Given the current tension, it could complicate matters."

Hiruzen's gaze sharpened. "Do you think the Uchiha are involved?"

Kakashi frowned. "When I last visited the Uchiha district, the atmosphere felt different—tense, even hostile toward outsiders."

Hiruzen nodded, lost in thought. "I'll discuss this matter with the other elders. For now, consider your mission complete."

As Kakashi left the room, Hiruzen leaned back in his chair, his face heavy with worry.

"The storm is coming," he murmured.
