Satoru glanced at the green venom coating the kunai aimed at him, his tone light and playful.
"Well, aren't you guys enthusiastic," he said, brushing off the threat casually.
"By the way, where's Danzo? Hiding in the shadows? Don't you dare show your face?"
The Root operatives bristled at his arrogance, their anger evident.
How dare he trespass into Root Headquarters?! He's looking for death!
Exchanging glances, they hurled another volley of kunai.
Satoru yawned, effortlessly dodging the projectiles.
"Really? Is that all you've got?" he teased. "Can't you at least try something a little creative? This is getting boring!"
The Root operatives, realizing they couldn't gauge his strength from a distance, descended from the air, swords drawn.
Satoru smirked.
"Alright, let's spice this up a bit."
He used a technique he'd picked up from watching Uchiha Obito during their brief encounter.
"Fire Style: Dance of the Whirlwind!"
Combining fire and wind, Satoru unleashed a vortex of flames, the fiery serpent twisting ferociously as it devoured the Root operatives.
Within seconds, nothing remained—not even ashes. Sawdust and flames scattered through the air, with the burning bridge groaning under the destruction.
"Seriously, guys, you're holding your swords all wrong," Satoru quipped. "And that form? Absolutely tragic."
As another operative lunged at him, Satoru sidestepped with ease, delivering a powerful kick that sent the attacker flying into the wall. The impact left a gaping hole, and the unfortunate Root member slumped to the ground, unmoving.
The remaining operatives froze in fear.
What is this guy?!
They hadn't even managed to graze him. He was toying with them as if they were nothing.
Their confidence shattered, their hands trembled, sweat dripping from their foreheads.
What now?
They couldn't even muster the strength to move.
Suddenly, a glint of cold steel caught Satoru's eye. A shuriken whistled through the air, aimed directly at him.
"Finally giving up on playing hide-and-seek?" Satoru said, his tone half-joking as he glanced toward the shadows where Danzo lurked.
"Good. Saves me the trouble of searching for you."
The shuriken was mere inches from him when he vanished, leaving the weapon to clatter harmlessly to the ground.
The Root operatives blinked in confusion.
What just happened?
Danzo, hidden in the shadows, scanned the area with narrowed eyes, his Sharingan glowing faintly as he searched for any sign of Satoru.
Where is he? How did he disappear so completely?
Even his breath seemed to vanish.
Danzo's unease deepened as he grew more cautious.
"Tsk," came a voice from above.
"Looking for me?"
Danzo instinctively stepped back, his gaze snapping upward. There, perched above him, was the black-robed figure.
The sheer audacity left Danzo momentarily stunned.
How long has he been up there? And how did I not sense him?
A flicker of surprise flashed in Danzo's eyes, but his expression quickly hardened.
"When?" he growled. "Who are you?"
Satoru casually ran a hand through his black hair, feigning thoughtfulness.
"So many questions. Which one should I answer first?"
Unbeknownst to Danzo, Satoru had carefully disguised himself before arriving—changing his hair and eye color to maintain his anonymity.
Before Danzo could respond, Satoru moved in a blur, closing the distance in the blink of an eye.
He aimed a punch directly at Danzo's face.
Bang!
Danzo's form exploded into white smoke—it had been a shadow clone.
Satoru smirked, clapping his hands mockingly.
"Not bad, old man. You're not entirely useless. This might actually be fun."
Hidden behind another structure, Danzo's face darkened.
This man… not only are his techniques enigmatic, but his personality is insufferable! Who is he?!
As he mulled over the situation, a familiar, infuriating voice cut through his thoughts.
"Hi there," Satoru called out cheerfully.
Danzo froze.
Impossible.
Turning slowly, his eyes widened as he saw Satoru standing there, a smug grin plastered across his face.
"How… how did you find me so quickly?" Danzo muttered, disbelief etched into his features.
Satoru's grin widened, his tone dripping with mockery.
"Find you? Oh, old man, you make it too easy."
