Chapter 139: A Life-Restoring Favor to Dragonite

If the colossal Dragonite didn't replenish its life energy soon, it likely wouldn't survive beyond a year.

As the saying goes: "When you've received something, you owe a favor."

Hikaru couldn't deny that he had benefited greatly from Dragon Island's resources. Moreover, the Dragonite could have forcibly taken the Life Essence but chose to propose a fair exchange instead.

The offer to bond with a Dratini was tempting.

Pouring roughly half of the Life Essence from the jade bottle, Hikaru directed Latias to lift it with Psychic energy.

The moment the emerald liquid emerged, it released a misty glow filled with immense life energy.

Even the withered trees growing in the cracks of nearby rocks began to sprout fresh green shoots, as if reborn.

The colossal Dragonite carefully accepted the floating liquid, tilting its head back to swallow it in one gulp.

Instantly, its body began to radiate a brilliant green light. Hikaru could see its life energy surge and flourish.

In the midst of the shimmering glow, the massive Dragonite's towering form visibly shrank, deflating like a pierced balloon. Its once sagging skin and aged visage tightened, regaining a youthful vitality.

"What the… what the hell?!"

Small, astonished exclamations slipped out of Hayashi Ten and Hayashi Fire as they stared in disbelief.

They could hardly fathom how such a small vial of liquid could produce such a transformation in the colossal Dragonite.

The Dragonite had long been a symbol of awe and reverence among the Hayashi Clan. Its overwhelming presence evoked both admiration and fear, as though it were not merely a Pokémon but a living deity.

But as the years passed, its vitality visibly waned. Each time they saw it, its aging grew more apparent.

Hayashi Ten and Hayashi Fire knew that the clan elders had been secretly searching for ways to restore its life force. The large-scale procurement of life-related artifacts had been impossible to hide from the younger generation.

This colossal Dragonite was far more than just a Pokémon—it was a cornerstone of the Hayashi Clan's legacy and strength.

Yet, with a single bottle of liquid, Hikaru had seemingly reversed its decline.

The glow surrounding the Dragonite gradually dimmed, revealing its significantly reduced form. Though it was still massive, its size was now far more proportionate.

More importantly, Hikaru could sense that its life energy had stabilized and grown exponentially. The Dragonite now had the time it needed to attempt the legendary Level 100 breakthrough.

From this perspective, Hikaru's act of generosity was nothing short of a life-restoring favor.

"Thank you, human."

The Dragonite lowered itself in a gesture of respect, its luminous eyes locking onto Hikaru.

"Dragon Island will forever welcome you. You may come and go as you please."

After a lingering glance at Hikaru—perhaps to imprint the memory of his benefactor—it spread its massive wings and took flight. The urgency of its departure reflected its need to stabilize the newfound energy.

"Hikaru… I spoke out of turn when you first arrived. Please, accept my apology," Hayashi Ten said as he approached, his tone laced with remorse.

Now that he had witnessed Hikaru's act of healing, Hayashi Ten couldn't help but feel deeply grateful. Had Hikaru left the island in anger earlier, the colossal Dragonite's fate might have been sealed.

"No need to dwell on it," Hikaru replied with a smile, waving off the apology.

Their conversation was interrupted by Sakura's voice, lively and insistent.

"The next batch of Dratini will hatch in October, brother! You have to come back to pick one—it'll be amazing!"

"October, huh?" Hikaru murmured, already intrigued by the prospect of bonding with one of the newborn Dratini.

Sakura began counting on her delicate fingers, speaking as though planning out his future.

"Normally, our clan bonds with Dratini eggs from Dragon Island. This lets them grow accustomed to Dragon Tamer energy, enhancing their synergy for future training."

Then, almost as an afterthought, she added, "I'll talk to Father about awakening your Dragon Tamer Power. That way, you'll officially have it too!"

Hikaru chuckled at her eagerness. "That won't be necessary—I already have Dragon Tamer Power."

As proof, he allowed a faint aura of draconic energy to emanate from his body. The energy flowed over to Latias, who immediately flew over and enveloped him in a warm embrace.

With a joyful chirp, she gently rested her head on Hikaru's, clearly enjoying the comforting sensation of his energy.

"Latias seems very happy!" Sakura said with a giggle.

Meanwhile, Hayashi Ten and Hayashi Fire were left dumbfounded.

"How… is that possible?"

"Wow, that's incredible, brother!" Sakura exclaimed cheerfully, pulling Hikaru toward the beach.

"We're at the seaside! Let's enjoy ourselves!"

Before Hikaru could respond, Latias scooped him up while Sakura jumped onto her back. It was clear the two had already planned this escapade together.

As the group arrived at the shore, Hikaru finally understood why Sakura had chosen her flowing white dress.

The scene was picture-perfect: the waves sparkling under the sun, the light breeze playing with the hem of Sakura's dress, and her bright laughter filling the air.

It was a breathtaking sight—one that perfectly captured the essence of youthful joy and beauty.
