The wind sounded against Aveline's ear as she ran through the underground tunnels, she wasn't breathing well due to the exhaustion she was feeling. She ran to ensure her people were being warned about the impending danger
Elder Thorne's words echoed in her mind. "You're already too late." She wondered what she could be too late for and also what the outcome of her being too late could be.
The chamber behind her kept shaking as dark energy moved through the air. She could feel it crawling up her spine, an unnatural force that felt both ancient and alive. She felt the unease from the energy coming out of the chamber. It was moving all over her and it prevented her from shouting. She thought that even if she shouted, who would come to her rescue when she was heard?
