The night was scarily quiet as Aveline and Gabriel crawled in the shadows outside an abandoned warehouse on the edge of neutral territory. The building looked big with the shining of the moonlight, its broken windows, and rusted walls as evidence of years of abandonment. But tonight, it was far from being empty.
Through the holes of cracks in the wooden planks, they could see figures moving inside. Small lighted lanterns were displaying shadows, and familiar voices were heard and disturbing the cool night air. Aveline tightened her grip on Gabriel's arm, her heart still pounding fast.
"That's Cassian," Gabriel whispered, nodding toward a tall figure standing near the center of the room. His voice was steady, but Aveline could feel the tension showing out off him.
