Lily was on high alert. She scanned the room repeatedly before walking towards the window.
Ronnie could barely understand what was happening but he trembled in fear.
"Lily, is this one of those things like the one that possessed Josh? What is this fear and weight I feel? It's like I'm being compressed" Ronnie said.
"I don't think. I damned soul wouldn't have this much aura. This aura I feel…it's a familiar one" Lily said. Her eyes glowed a bright ruby color in the dimly lit room.
"My Qu—een, Lady Lilith do you hear me?" The voice of a woman asked, it came from the direction of the mirror.
"That voice— Riya!" Lily exclaimed, realization hit her as she hastily moved over to the mirror.
"Riya, Riya is that your voice I hear?" she asked.
A blurred image of Riya manifested in the mirror.
"My lady, I can't talk much because this connection would probably break soon. I'll go straight to the point. We managed to push back Samael's forces with the help of the united generals that had agreed to fight for our faction" Riya explained.
"I see. currently I am stuck in the human realm" Lily said.
"I know, the details will have to be left for later, I picked up a strong ping of your aura signature. We have the situation held down for now but you have to return as soon as—" Riya paused, her voice went distant.
"Riya? Riya!" Lily yelled, violently shaking the mirror.
Ronnie stood by the corner trying to process what was happening.
Riya's voice no longer came through and the mirror went back to normal, displaying a curved crack in the middle after Lily put it down.
Lily knelt by the mirror with her head down, her hair poured over her eyes so Ronnie could barely see her face.
"Lily, are you— okay?" Ronnie asked, moving close to Lily.
"For now. I believe everything is fine for now but Ronnie Carpenter, we need to find a way to break this tie. A being who does not know his own origin cannot hold me captive in this dreadful place while my people struggle on the front lines without their queen to lead them" Lily said, her tone expressing a deep sadness.
"I already told you I was human didn't I? I don't understand any of this either" Ronnie articulated.
"No mere human being would have the type of power it takes to summon and control a demon of my level!" Lily raged, staring intensely at Ronnie.
Ronnie stepped back.
"I'm— sorry. I'd set you free if I could" Ronnie muttered.
The night ended with neither of them saying another word. Lily sat by the mirror while Ronnie laid face up in bed. He didn't sleep a wink.
The next day, Ronnie searched through the basement for anything that would give him a clue of where the box came from, he found nothing. He had asked his Grandpa, the only information Grandpa could give him was that a strange man dropped the box some years back and he never saw him again.
"Is it necessary that I dress in this attire wherever you plan on taking me?" Lily asked. She stood in front of a mirror in the part of the mall that sold female clothes.
Ronnie had made plans to show her around the city as well as visiting the library to search for information.
"You have to dress like a normal girl. So you don't call attention to yourself. Also, is it really okay for me to be here?" Ronnie said.
"You have seen me unclad on more than one occasion, have you not? This is no different. Besides, being apart would be too risky for you" Lily said, still staring at herself in the mirror. She wore a red sundress, she had tied her long hair into a ponytail before that.
"I could have just worn your clothes as I have been doing, if something occurs can I fight in this?" Lily added.
"C'mon, quit complaining. We should go, the library closes early on weekends" Ronnie said.
Just as Ronnie predicted, the library was closed by the time they arrived there.
"Master, it appears that the establishment is locked," Lily said, looking up at the building.
"Yeah it is. This is what I was worried about" Ronnie said.
He could read Lily, she acted like her usual self, almost as if they didn't just argue the previous night.
"Would you like me to shatter the doors? Hold this" Lily said with a straight face, holding out the bag of dresses from the mall.
"No! of course not, we'd be trespassing!" Ronnie yelled, then he struck his palm on his face.
"Oh?" Lily cocked her head to the side.
"Come on, I have something else in mind," Ronnie said, walking ahead of her.
She caught up to him and held his hand.
"You shouldn't leave my sight," she said.
He continued to walk in silence, flustered.
The place that Ronnie had taken Lily to was an amusement pack. He was trying to get Lily's mind off the worry of the previous day.
"This place, me and you— Master, this is what humans refer to as a date, no?" Lily asked obliviously.
"No!...maybe, I guess you could— call it that" Ronnie said, feeling nervous and struggling to stay composed.
"I see. Does this mean we have to procreate after this occasion?" Lily asked.
Ronnie looked shocked, his face had gone red.
Suddenly, without changing her facial expression, Lily stopped walking. She held Ronnie's face and kissed his cheek softly before subtly moving to his ear.
"We're being followed. Don't talk, just listen. This person followed us right from the establishment where we acquired these clothes. I shall take care of them" Lily said, pulling away. Ronnie grabbed her face softly and leaned in.
Right before saying anything the stalker appeared right in front of them. She appeared to be a teenage girl.
"Ronald, hey you. It's been a while" she said.
