In the morning, Michael was standing infront of the school gate. He was dozing off into the air. He remembered the conversation he had with Kaiden the previous day.
"What did you just say?? You're going to school?"
"You hear me. I'm going to school starting tomorrow."
"What??? Can you elaborate more about why you are going to school?"
Michael, seeing Kaiden's face, showed a bit of worry, and he decided to explain more thoroughly.
"As you know, some people from the headquarters came by today. Their actual goal was to assign a mission to Father Darren."
Then Michael explained why they came by and what kind of mission was given to Father Darren. He also told him why Father Darren assigned this mission to him. Thus, the whole reason why he goes to school.
"Woah, that kind of a lot." Then Kaiden pulled out a chair and sat on it. He felt like, for a moment, he had learned a forbidden knowledge.
"So this is the reason why they come in the first place. Which school are you attending anyway?"
"A school called Silvergate High."
"Silvergate High!? Damm, then the victim either is wealthy, or she is very smart."
"Why do you say that? Is there something special about this high school?"
"Well, yeah. First off, this is one of the prestigious schools in our area. Because of their fame and achievement, their school fees per semester are very high for ordinary civilians. Thus, people who can enter this high school either came from wealthy families or were smart enough to receive a scholarship."
….
Back in the present, Michael was in awe of the building's architecture. Just purely from the school gate, they had these large pillars, and on top, they were displayed as 'Silvergate High'. Even the text seems to be made out of gold.
"Rich people these day…." Michael muttered.
But I didn't expect the old man to actually be able to enroll me in this school in just one day, especially since it wasn't some average school. That old man must have some kind of authority within the society. He can even prepare this school uniform by today.
Right now, he was not in his priest outfit. He wore a navy blue tailored blazer with silver piping along the edges and cuffs. The academy's logo is embroidered in silver thread on the left chest pocket. Inside was a button-up white shirt with a navy blue and silver striped tie.
Seeing other students start to go inside, he stopped wasting time standing outside and went in.
Before I came to school, that old man told me there would be people guiding me. I wonder how he or she looks.
As Michael walked toward the school, he was attracting a lot of attention from students walking past him, especially the female students. They even whispered about him.
"Hey, hey, have you seen that guy before at our school? I never knew our school had this good-looking student."
"No, I did not. Is he from the higher year?"
"Hey, how about you go ask for his contact?"
"Huh, no way! Why should I be the one to go for it!? Why not you go get it yourself."
"Oh, come on, it's not usual for us to get a chance to meet a mysterious, handsome student in this school. He might come from a powerful family wanting to keep his identity hidden."
"Yeah, you keep on imagining that…"
Their discussion continues on and on to a wildly exaggerated direction about his identity. While Michael himself, thanks to enhanced physical, is listening to their conversation about him. When he hears them talk about his looks, he lowers his head a bit. He feels a little embarrassed that they complimented his looks. He has never experienced what it's like to be a good-looking man.
He fastens his steps toward the school to avoid one of the girls coming to ask for his contact information. In the first place, he did not come here as a student but rather as a chaplain to investigate a kidnapping case related to one of the students here. After everything is completed, he will no longer be staying at this school. Thus, he believes there is no need to build any relationship here. Especially a relationship that won't benefit the case.
As Michael stepped inside the school, he was greeted by a person. She has long, sleek black hair with side bangs framing her face, and her sharp almond-shaped eyes show her intellect and confidence. At first glance, anyone will be charmed by her looks; the same goes for Michael.
"Hello there. You must be Michael Rivera, a newly transferred student. I've been waiting for you." said the girl who greeted him. Michael was stunned for a second because of her beautiful looks, but he quickly regained his calm when she said his name.
"Ahem. Yeah, I am. And I guess you are the one who will guide me through the school?"
She smiled at Michael when he responded back, and she then answered intending to tease him a little, "Yes, you are correct. My name is Amelia Crosswell. I'm from the student council, and I have to say you are more handsome than the picture that the teacher gave him."
"Uhh what…." Michael's face turned red a little, and he looked in the other direction to avoid eye contact with Amelia. While Michael was doing that, Amelia saw it. She chuckled, "Haha, I guess you've never heard others compliment your look before. Alright, I was just teasing you. Why don't we begin our tour."
Michael then calmed down after knowing she was teasing him. After that, he followed her and took a tour of the school.
Dammm this god-blessed looks. I never thought I would hate being good-looking one day….
Amelia peeked a little at the back to have a look at Michael. She saw he still wouldn't look her in the eye, and she laughed while covering it with her hand so Michael wouldn't notice. "Hahaha, this new junior is quite cute. He got flustered just by one compliment. Maybe I should tease him more in the future."
With that, the seed of not having a peaceful school life for Michael has been planted.
….
Silvergate High's school building is vast. Since it is a famed school, the school board spent quite a lot of money on its architecture. Thus, new students usually require a senior to give them a tour. Otherwise, they could really get lost on the school grounds. In this case, Amelia is the one giving Michael a tour.
"Our first station is the school convenience store. If you need anything, you can buy it here; the product here is cheaper than outside school." She said it while her hand showed the direction of where the store was.
The store is located outside the building, which is surrounded by other massive buildings. Students usually walk by or around to pass the time. If you view it from the top, it is like the centre of the school grounds, so students can easily access it when they are on their way to other places.
She continues to add, "We call this area the school garden. As you can see here, there are plants and flowers for us students to view. There are also walkways for us to walk on easily. The principal said the school designed this area to give students a better environment in which to study."
When she introduced Michael, he was in awe of the school area. In his old world, he went to a so-called 'public school', and everything there was on a low budget. Thus, he never had the experience of a school having these kinds of things.
"Anyway, it's almost time for your class. Let me lead you to your classroom." Amelia then leads to one of the massive buildings inside Silvergate's ground. She went on to explain, " All of the rooms inside this building are classrooms for every year student. The floor of the school differentiates the classroom. For example, if it is the first floor, then this floor will be a first-year student classroom. Since you're in second-year, your classroom will be on the second floor."
They took the stairs to the second floor and walked to a classroom with a sign reading '2-E'.
"Here it is. The classroom you are assigned to and your homeroom teacher is Mr. Damian Thatcher." At a perfect time, a man wearing formal clothes with a stubble beard showed behind them.
As soon as Amelia saw the guy, she said, "Ah, Mr. Thatcher, perfect timing! This is the newly transferred student assigned to your class."
"Oh, that. So is today, huh? Well, let's head in together. I will introduce you to the class. Thanks again, Amelia." said Mr. Thatcher with a carefree attitude.
"Alright, then, I'll be on my way now. Oh, and Michael, I will come find you again during break time. Don't worry. I will show you where the cafeteria is." She waved and then went on her way to her classroom.
"Ermm, understood. Thanks again." Michael, too, waved back at her.
"Come on, let's head inside now."
Michael followed Mr. Thatcher and went inside the classroom. The moment he went inside, the classroom that was chattering just now went silent and turned to gaze toward him.
"Ahem. Class today, we will have a new classmate." He then turned to look at Michael, "Come and introduce yourself."
Michael took a step forward and start introducing.
Alright, this first day of school. Times to make a good first impression.
When he opened his mouth, his muscle reflex started to kick in, and he introduced himself with an icy tone again. "My name is Michael Rivera. Nice to meet you all."
Sh*t!!! This is not how I want to introduce myself!!!!
