Gu Yanyan was baffled as how this handsome guy was trying to coax her.
His coaxing skills were really terrible. God knows, how he was gonna find himself a wife with this level of his skills.
"You are the scary one." Annoyed Gu Yanyan couldn't help but shout at the boy.
"You have this fox like eyes. Why don't you keep this 'cute' fox mask to yourself. With this, I'm sure, you would look like a real fox." Gu Yanyan specially emphasized the word 'cute'.
"Stop trying to fool me and give me back my demon mask, otherwise..." As Gu Yanyan was still in her enrage spirit, she forgot her initial analysis of the boy in front of her.
"Otherwise?" The boy in front of her narrowed his fox like eyes and asked in his very intimidating voice.
Hearing his intimidating voice, realization immediately hit Gu Yanyan like a bullet fired by AK47.
As the boy was at least a head taller than Gu Yanyan, he had to lower his head to look into little Gu Yanyan's little stunned eyes.
Seeing the boy's face so close to herself, Gu Yanyan involuntarily took a step back and hit her back to the shop's table behind her.
"Ouch." Gu Yanyan closed her eyes as she moaned at the pain in her back.
"Does it hurt?" A concerned voice sounded beside her ear.
"Of course it hurts." Gu Yanyan whined still with her closed eyes.
"It serves you right." The boy sounded as he stretched out his hand to sooth her back.
"You are a bad boy." Gu Yanyan pouted as she accused him in her loud childlike voice.
The boy looked around in a certain direction and after nodding in that direction he threw two tales of silver towards the shopkeeper and then looked at Gu Yanyan.
Taping on her cute little nose he said "I've never said, I was a good boy. Take your scary mask." He made a face as if he suddenly disdained her demon mask and put the fox mask on his face.
"I think you are right, I really feel like a real fox after putting it." He chuckled as he said this.
While Gu Yanyan was stunned at the sudden change in the boy's attitude, the boy had already turned his back to her "Bye bye little friend, if fate allowed we'll meet again." As the boy said his goodbye to little Yanyan he raised his right hand waved at her without looking.
Seeing him disappearing in the crowd, Gu Yanyan twitched her lips "Who wants to meet you again? Stinky fox." After cursing a few more bad words about that strange boy, Gu Yanyan took her demon mask happily and looked around for Yang Xumei.
Only now she remembered her good Xumei.
"Xumei. Xumei " She called for her good Xumei a couple of times only then she saw her talking with two women.
As she walked towards them, those two women bowed to Yang Xumei as if thanking? Before she could reached them, those two women had already walked away.
"What happened? Why were they thanking you? How you came here? Were not we choosing masks for us, how come you leave me there alone amd disappeared? You know there was a stinky fox who wanted to snatch my favorite demon mask from me?" As Gu Yanyan asked her series of questions, her voice got louder and more aggressive towards the end and eventually she started to sob as she looked at Yang Xumei accusingly with her eyes glossy and slightly narrowed. "Yang Xumei, how could you do this to me? Do you know how hard I fought with that stinky fox for my precious demon mask?" As Gu Yanyan sounded almost at the verge of crying and her eyes red and filled with unshed tears.
In the beginning when Yang Xumei heard Gu Yanyan's questioning, she felt a slightly guilty for leaving her alone in the middle of crowd. She felt even more bad when she heard how her dear friend had been bullied by some random 'fox' while she was busy helping some random strangers but when she saw tears in her good friends eyes and the signature dramatic accusing gaze she got from her good friend, Yang Xumei couldn't help but twitch her lips.
She shook her head and turned to walk forward with her long legs.
"Stop your melodrama. We still have half of the city waiting fir us to explore it. Walk fast. It's already noon, if we won't be fast, I fear that we have to return without exploring the whole city as butler Fan had ordered our strong bodyguards to bring you back before dark even if they have to drag you back." Instead of answering Gu Yanwen's series of questions, Yang Xumei threatened her with butler Fan's order before they left for the city tour.
Getting threatened by her good Xumei when she had clearly expected for sympathy from her, Gu Yanyan glared at Yang Xumei's back with her fist clenched for a while before pouting and lowering her head and skipping on her steps briskly and followed her good Xumei in hurry.
"Xumei. My good Xumei. Wait for your little Yanyan." Little Gu Yanyan shouted loudly while running after Yang Xumei with her short legs
"Bad Xumei." Huffing and puffing Gu Yanyan mumbled her under her breath when she saw Yang Xumei didn't even when she shouted so much.
"Stinky Xumei. Wait until I grow as big as you. No. I'll grow even bigger than you and then I'll teach you lesson." Gu Yanyan again shouted loudly, intended to threaten Yang Xumei for her future but what she didn't know, while threatening Yang Xumei in her childlike voice she sounded more like a troublemaker child whining for not getting her favorite candy.
Only after running for a while that she saw their carriage and... Yang Xumei. Folding her hands in front of her front, Yang Xumei looked at Gu Yanyan with a smug expression.
At this moment she really felt envy towards Yang Xumei for finding an older body for herself and getting longer legs than her.
After boarding the carriage both girls left to resume their city tour and while chatting and laughing among them Gu Yanyan also forgot about the boy she had met earlier but it was not the same for the boy.
Standing at the third floor of a building two men, one older may be in his early twenties and other younger may eight or nine years old, looked in the direction where that low key carriage went.
"Young master we should also leave now. Others are waiting to set off for north." The older man said respectfully to the younger one.
"Hmm. We should leave." The younger one replied before taking a last glance towards the carriage. The carriage disappeared from his line of sight and he also turned and left reluctantly for the north.
In the carriage Gu Yanyan was unaware of the boy's reluctant journey to the bitter north, she happily talked about the scenery along the streets and pointed in directions, she liked for Yang Xumei to see.
