"Don't say third sister that it was one time when you forgot to greet me." Gu Yanyan said as she looked at Gu Yanran with her teary eyes.
"Even when we met first time after I entered the Residence, none of you greeted me as your eldest sister and even that little sister of ours whose name I still don't know because no one bother to tell me or introduce her to me, asked me why I only greeted grandmother, father, mother, eldest uncle, eldest aunt and our eldest brother and second brother and why I didn't greet any of my younger sisters? Do you remember mother what I asked you at that time?" Gu Yanyan asked Madam Yun.
Of course Madam Yun remembered. It was the first the first sentence Gu Yanyan had said after meeting everyone again after greeting her elders and that was, to find an etiquette teacher for Gu Yanwen and Gu Yanwen had made a fuss about it too.
After being question about that incident, Madam Yun felt her scalp tingling.
"And again when we met at my welcome feast, everyone's attention was on my plain and simple clothes and my weak and fragile appearance but no one bothered to notice how I was neglected once again." Gu Yanyan said as tears start to form in her eyes again and big droplets from her eyes were just about to fall down her cheeks as she sobbed loudly and said in choked voice, "I know grandmother, I've not been with my younger sisters since young and we've never played with each or attended classes together, learned embroidery or recited poetry together but the least they could have done was to show me a little respect as my younger siblings. I didn't wanted to brings this up neither I wanted to air my grievances in front of my grandmother but seeing how bluntly my third sister was trying to lie in front of grandmother I couldn't help myself." Saying this Gu Yanyan suddenly stood up from her seat and walked in front of old Madam Gu and kneeled in front of her.
"Grand daughter is really ashamed for losing her composer in front of grandmother and not being magnanimous enough to forget her younger siblings' disrespect towards her. I know I'm being petty by doing this but please grandmother, don't ask me to mingle with my younger siblings or play with them as I know how they feel about me and knowing how they don't acknowledge me as their eldest sister I don't want to force them either to be friendly towards just because grandmother asked them to. If fate will allow us, I'm sure I'll definitely forge a closer relationship with my siblings but until then I want to ask grandmother to interfere in us siblings affair."
It was definitely Gu Yanyan who didn't wanted to have any interaction with those annoying brats but now in the ears of old Madam Gu only sounded, how her grandkids had disrespected her eldest grand daughter and broke her heart so badly that she didn't even want to have any interaction with them.
Realizing this outcome, old Madam Gu couldn't help but clench her fingers around the string of beads in her left hand.
Failed to make Gu Yanyan closer to the family members through the same generation kids, old Madam Gu couldn't help be frustrated.
She had thought, it would be easier to get her integrated in to the family and forge a familial love towards the Gu family through the same generation kids but seeing the situation, it seemed her one moment of negligence had ruined this opportunity to no amends.
She shouldn't have trusted this daughter of Yun family and should have taken the task to warn all children about how to treat Gu Yanyan after her return, herself.
The more she looked at the little lass kneeling in front of her with all those tears and redness in her eyes and her once in a while sobbing sounding in the quite hall, the more old Madam Gu found herself at the verge of losing her control and lash out at Madam Yun.
With the last thread of her sane mind, old Madam Gu asked Gu Yanyan to stand up and stop kneeling and said; since Gu Yanyan didn't want to mingle with her younger siblings at the moment, she won't force her and that she would let the nature take it course and that she believed that with time she would also feel the same closeness with her siblings as the they feel among themselves.
Hearing this Gu Yanyan didn't say anything and just nodded in affirmation with the tears hung at the corner of her red eyes as if to say; Yes, she also expect the same.
Seeing the little lass nodding her little head which align with her expectations, old Madam Gu finally eased her frown and showed a kind smile on her face as she asked Gu Yanyan to return to her courtyard.
"Phew!" After coming out of the An Shui hall, Gu Yanyan finally took a breath in the fresh air and cleansed her respiratory tract along with her mind and heart.
Now she was sure that no one would ask her to interact her with any annoying brat in the Gu Residence and she could play her little game in the backyard of the Gu mansion peacefully.
As she was returning back to her Water Pavilion, she saw an middle aged nanny sneaking around her Water Pavilion, trying to peek inside the courtyard.
When she reached a little closer, only then she could recogniz the middle aged nanny as it was none other than the nanny by Gu Yanran's side, Mother Liu.
Seeing, how hard mother Liu was trying to peek inside the Water Pavilion, for a moment even Gu Yanyan felt miserable for Mother Liu.
How hard it was to peek inside a little courtyard which was guarded by two dozens of servants? If one want to know, ask mother Liu.
