Early in the morning when Gu Yanyan woke up, her eyes had turned into panda's eyes.
There were huge dark circles around her eyes making her look like, she had been deprived of sleep for so many years.
Looking at her sleep deprived eyes, Yang Xumei and other maids didn't know if they should laugh or cry. So they did what they certainly could-
"Miss, what happened to your eyes?" One asked.
"Miss, did you not sleep well last night?" Second asked.
"Miss, were you again reading those story books and didn't sleep again last night?" Third one asked.
But Gu Yanyan didn't answer any of them and just stared at Yang Xumei and thought about the dream she saw last night. Her good Xumei was covered in blood and burned all over. Her almond shaped eyes tightly closed and her palm shaped face venom recognization.
In that bloody dream she was so quite, so... dead.
Finding her Miss looking at her so intently with so deep gaze, Yang Xumei couldn't help but feel her eyes turning red for no reason.
Suddenly Gu Yanyan stood up from her bed and pulled Yang Xumei in a tight hug. She didn't cried, not even sobbed, not until Yang Xumei patted her back.
"It's OK Miss. It's just some dark circles.. it would be fine after getting some massage with rose dew-" Yang Xumei was still trying to coaxed Gu Yanyan when Gu Yanyan let out a very quite heart wrenching cry in her arms and warm droplets started to fall on her on her shoulder.
Yang Xumei instantly become alert.
"Miss, what happened? Miss are you ok? Did something happened last night? Are you heart somewhere?" Yang Xumei asked a series of questions, her voice filled with concern and worry for Gu Yanyan but Gu Yanyan didn't say anything and just hugged her tightly.
"I-I had a nightmare." After crying for a while, Gu Yanyan finally said in low voice which could only heared by Yang Xumei.
"It's OK Miss. It was just a nightmare, nothing else. You shouldn't be afraid. We are all here for you. Your Xumei is hear for you." Yang Xumei said in gentle and soothing voice while caressing Gu Yanyan's back with her other hand.
"It was about that explosion." Gu Yanyan said slowly and her body trembled in Yang Xumei's embrace when she thought about the scene. While Yang Xumei's body became as stiff as a wooden pole. She even forgot to caress Gu Yanyan's back and her breathing became hurried.
But it was only for a moment before she came into her senses when she heard Gu Yanyan's rambling on and on and signal other maids to leave them alone.
"Xumei, we were dead; I was dead, you were dead, we both were dead." Gu Yanyan pulled herself out of Yang Xumei's embrace and looked at her with her red swollen eyes and tears stricken face.
"We are dead in our world Xumei. We are-" Gu Yanyan was shivering all over. Till yesterday she always used to imagine their end in the modern world but when she got those visuals last night in her dream which looked so real as if what she was watching was not just a dream but reality, she was really shaken to the core. After all who wouldn't be scared after watching their own dead bodies and that too in such bloody mess.
No matter how strong Gu Yanyan was in her daily life, she also couldn't control herself from showing her weak side when she got the warm embrace of her friend, her elder sister and the only person whom she could call her real family be it in the modern world or in this historical era.
"It's OK Miss." Yang Xumei being the older one and always the steady one gathered her own emotions and tried to coax Gu Yanyan.
"I know you are scared and sad that you can't go back in that world but- but look at the bright side. Isn't it more fun in this world? Here you can make any dog cry whenever you want and however you and you don't have take other's feelings in consideration when you want to take revenge on someone. Isn't it cool to become the one and only boss of our business than having to look at other shareholders' face before making any decision. Here you don't have to yield to your elders in fear of losing your position in the company because you are the founder of the company. You got so much wisdom and knowledge since young that no one could ever have in this era and you even got that mystical space where can store away anything and everything that you want to store. And what you can't store, just tell this Xumei, she will always do your unfinished job finished, Miss. Miss you don't have to be sad." After counting so much advantages of coming into this world in jocking manner, Yang Xumei finally got serious.
"Miss you still got me. No matter what happens, your Xumei will never leave you so, you don't have to care in which world we are living. You just have to live, Yanyan, your elder sister will always be there for you." Yang Xumei said the last as she would have spoken when they were in the modern world and Gu Yanyan was the CEO of the Gu corporation and she was her personal assistant and her most trusted friend.
"Yes sister, it's fine as long as you are here. Yanyan will always will as long her sister is there." Gu Yanyan nodded her little head in Yang Xumei's embrace and said.
Looking at Gu Yanyan coming into her senses and gaining her composer, Yang Xumei finally took a sigh of relief and looked at Gu Yanyan with her brow raised.
