I grew up in a town. A town where we had to worship the royals and where we believed we existed due to them. A town where we would be killed if we worshipped other gods. But as for me, I neglected all rules and was born as a Catholic. I had every reasons to be killed. A town which was not properly ruled. A town where married couples who were not financially stable, would be called commoners as well as their children. I became a commoner due to my parents.
I kept wondering why they had to kill commoners when there was a best option to sell us off as slaves. At least it was very much better than killings. I stood in the chamber for so long waiting for a way to escape.
The mission I had in mind to do in the palace was not accomplished. In fact, the chance to accomplish it was zero. As Judd said, it might not be in the palace but more likely to be found in a chamber made of gold. Knowing what it does made me more determined to look for it. I could take it and flee.
"Wait, if it was a chamber made of gold, then it might be here. " I thought. I began to search all ups and downs of the room. Then, the door behind me opened. It was a guy who looked around my age that entered.
"Ah!!" We both shouted. I unhesitatingly ran to cover his mouth.
"Shh! Don't get the idea wrong. I was not trying to do anything funny." I said. He looked at me with bold eyes. Obviously, I did not know who he was. Whether or not he was a royal, I had no clue. Hoping for a better landing, I removed my hand slowly. He kept mute and dragged me to a corner.
"Who are you?" He asked. I had no idea what to tell him. If I told him I was a commoner, then two people from the palace would know who I was.
"I? I don't think you are in position to ask me that question. You are the suspicious one here. " I replied neglecting the fact that I was the assailant.
"What? What the heck are you saying? Do you know who I am?" I was sick of that statement.
"What about you? Do you know who I am?" I backfired.
"Who are you?" He shouted in a thin voice.
"I am... I... Who I am don't matter, I don't feel any need to tell you about me. " I replied outrageously. I was right, who I really was did not matter. What mattered was that I was just there name-less!
"Then, you will be imprisoned. Anybody who don't have a rank in the town will be imprisoned. "
"Then, what happens? I have a rank. In fact, a very popular rank. " I replied. My rank as a commoner was very popular and common. Regardless of what I called myself, I believed I had a rank in the society.
"Stop the show of rank when you obviously look filthy. Do you take me for a dumbass?" He asked. Well, he got me. I almost forgot about my appearance. Anyone could easily realise that I was poor despite my dress. My face said otherwise. But I did not give in that easily. It would really be hard for me if two people who ranks were unknown to me, know who I was.
"So? You have not seen someone like this before? What matters is not the appearance, it is the background!" I yelled. Well, it was not someone like me that should have said something like that. I had neither good appearance nor good background.
"Stop the drama! You are really getting on my nerves right now. If my father hears about this, you are dead. "
"As long as you are not a royal, I am not scared. You are just an ordinary son who relies on his father. You have no power without your father. " I replied looking around to find a means of escape.
"Do you think you can go scot-free? Firstly, you entered my chamber with no permission and started looking for things. Secondly, you dare speak to me like that? You have some nerves, don't you think?" He said. He saying that it was his chamber got me off guard. I thought the chamber belonged to the first man. But, it was actually the guy in front of me.
' I am dead! He is a royal! Then, who is the first one?' I asked myself. I was speechless looking hopelessly. I had done the worst, it only mattered a period of time before I became exposed. If he was a royal, what about the cool guy?
"Your ch...amber? You mean this room is yours? Like yours?" I asked.
"Yes why? Is it supposed to be someone's else's?" He replied with the question.
"Then, you are the crown prince?"
"Yes. You will really be in big trouble now that you have seen my face. I hope you will not get too flustered. " He replied smiling. But I clearly remembered the first guy saying 'my chamber', then was that a lie?
"You have to help me. You are right, I am a nobody. I have no rank, please, don't kill me. " I begged. I really had begged a lot of people that day. Well, begging them considered me hopeless. But I had no choice. If not for Judd, I would have not gotten into trouble.
"Okay. In return, you have to work for me. If you can, I will assist you. " Said he smirking.
"What?" I asked.
"Work for me and I will pay you awesomely without any hesitation. " He replied.
"What kind of job?" I asked. Literally, the job matters. It must be a very excellent job without anybody suspecting that I was a commoner.
"The job requires you revealing your identity. Be my court lady."
"What!" To be a prince's court lady, I must be from an average family, I must be so pretty and well reserved. But I did not possess any of those.
"What!"
