After a busy morning, Sophia didn't even have time to take a sip of water.
Because of the crazy weight loss she once went on, her stomach wasn't very good to begin with, and with the fact that she didn't have time to eat breakfast today, she now had some vague pain in her upper abdomen.
That's right, in the morning at the Imperial Hotel, she stood and watched while Lucas ate breakfast. He hadn't asked her to sit down and eat with him.
After all, Sofia was just the object of his lust, she had no business eating with Lucas.
Seeing that her face didn't look too good, Fiona on the side asked her, "Sophia, what's wrong with you?"
"Nothing, maybe I'm hungry and my stomach hurts a little." Sofia replied indifferently, her hands still organizing Lucas' business trip itinerary in the next two days.
Busy as a dog in the daytime, still have to sleep with him at night, and no overtime pay, being crippled by sleeping is still not considered a work injury, is she, Sophia, an idiot, why should she return that two million dollars to Lucas ah?
Fiona quietly handed Sofia a packet of cookies from under the table.
"Eat it or not? This one is super yummy, caramel flavored."
Sofia smiled sweetly at her, "Eat."
She reached for a cookie and was about to pop it into her mouth when suddenly.
Knock Knock.
A white, slender hand knocked on the table.
"Sophia, stealing snacks at work, I caught you, didn't I?"
Sophia raised her head and saw a gorgeous woman with seaweed-like chestnut curls standing in front of her desk.
Her small palm-sized face was wearing sunglasses and exquisite makeup, and her delicate red lips seemed to be dripping blood.
Sophia gave her a disdainful glance, "What's it to you?"
The woman was so angry that she took off her sunglasses, "Aigooooo, Sophia, you've gotten fat with guts?!"
At that instant, Fiona who was on the side saw the person coming, she covered her mouth in shock, "Margaret?!"
That's right, the person who came was none other than the most recent popular star, Margaret.
Sofia smiled and made a whispering gesture towards her, "When did you come back? What are you doing running to my company?"
Margaret held her sunglasses and patted her face, "After flying for more than ten hours, I just got off the plane and came here, specially to see my little beauty."
Sofia introduced Fiona, "My best friend, Margaret."
Fiona was pleasantly surprised, "Your BFF is actually a big star? Then...does she know that you were beaten up by Sarah yesterday? She can avenge you hey!"
Margaret's almond eyes glared and she yelled, "What did you say? That bitch Sarah beat up my woman?!"
Seeing that it was time for the lunch break, Sophia hurriedly pulled Margaret outside, "Keep your voice down, aren't you afraid of the president?"
"I'm not his employee, why would I be afraid of him?"
...
The two arrived at a western restaurant near the company.
Margaret recently had a drama that was on the air with high ratings. For fear of someone recognizing her and inviting unnecessary trouble, they chose a corner seat in the restaurant and sat down.
After ordering the food, Margaret asked with concern, "Sophia, just now your coworker said, what's up with this bitch Sarah hitting you?"
Sophia lightly said, "Nothing much, she came to see the president, I said that the president was in a meeting, she nonetheless thought that I was deliberately stopping her, so she slapped me."
"This bitch! Looks like the resources weren't robbed enough by me," said Margaret as she pulled out her cell phone, "Let me get Natalie."
Natalie was Margaret's agent, and had been working by her side for several years, and was usually devoted to her, so to speak.
Sophia hurriedly stopped her, "Forget it, I don't want to fight her."
Margaret gave her a big blank stare, with an expression that read "Why do you just let it go?" written all over her face.
Margaret had lived abroad as a child, returning home in her sophomore year of high school before transferring to the aristocratic school Sophia attended. Both Mason and Sarah had already graduated by that time, but based on the fact that Sophia had been bullied before, she had almost no friends at school.
I don't know why Margaret, who was both beautiful and a famous ZH Group Miss, became friends with the obscure Sophia.
It was probably because she had watched too many martial arts movies and had a special sense of liver, guts and narrow-mindedness, or maybe seeing Sofia, who was always eating alone in the corner, made her feel compassionate, and one day at noon, she took the initiative to strike up a conversation with Sofia in the cafeteria.
"Classmate, today is Valentine's Day, why don't I treat you to some chocolates?"
Thanks to Margaret's blessing, Sophia's life became happier after that.
At least, she made a good friend.
This good friend was made for so many years.
When the food came up, Margaret started to wolf down the food as if she was a vicious wolf.
Sofia found it funny, "Margaret, just how many days have you been hungry?"
Margaret puffed out her mouth stuffed with food and slurred, "I've been starving for two months for this movie! Now that it's finally wrapped, don't I have to hurry up and have a big meal?!"
"If you're photographed by the paparazzi, you'll probably be on a wave of hot searches again."
"Shoot it, my dad has the ability to help me take it down anyway."
Speaking of this, Margaret suddenly thought of something, she swallowed all her food, "Sophia guess, who went to my dad two days ago?"
"Who?"
"That Uncle Joseph of yours and that dog man Mason."
Sofia wondered, "What did they want with uncle?"
"What else? Borrowing money."
Sophia was a little surprised. She knew that the Mason family had been in a bad financial situation lately, but she didn't think it would come to the point where they would have to ask another business for a loan.
Although Mason and Sarah had already graduated when Margaret transferred to the school, she knew all about what they had done and how that Mason family had treated Sophia.
She even had the immense expectation that their family would be sent to the border by now.
"So did Uncle borrow it?"
"Borrow my ass, the Mason's are a bottomless pit, if my dad dares to borrow, I'll stay unmarried for the rest of my life and piss him off so much that he'll lie in his coffin."
This Margaret, she just loved to believe and talk out of her ass.
But Sophia so liked her like that.
"You know Margaret, two days ago, the Mason's called me back."
Margaret's head snapped up, "They're looking at the inheritance your father left you?"
Sophia nodded, "And Mason asked me to stay with him."
"He's nuts, isn't he? Nice try! Sophia, do you agree?"
"How could I? Am I an idiot? When others treated me like a dog, I'm still guilty of sticking it to their family now?"
Seeing Sophia so resolute, Margaret let out a long breath. But when she thought about it, Sophia was so smart and talented, how could she not look like a love brain.
"Alright, you eat quickly, go back to bed after eating, your jet lag hasn't adjusted yet, right?"
Sophia said, reaching out to tie up her long, draped hair. It was probably because it was too hot in the corner, and in this cool fall weather, she actually felt some slight sweating.
It was fine if she didn't tie it, but once she tied her hair, those red marks at the jawline on both sides of her neck stood out, looking particularly eye-catching on Sophia's pale skin.
Snapped. The fork in Margaret's hand fell on the table.
"Sophia, your neck..."
Sophia suddenly realized something was wrong, and she hurriedly dropped her hair with a blush.
"You... and who? ..."
Feeling that she couldn't keep things under wraps, Sophia, very predictably, removed the cutlery and food from Margaret's hands.
Then she whispered, "Margaret, I'm going to tell you something, and don't be surprised, don't shout it out."
"What is it?"
"Lucas slept with me."
There was a loud clunk, and Margaret fell off the edge of the dining room table without sitting still.
