It's a Saturday morning and outside the great mansion of Marcel a rain cloud gathered making the sky darken as if it was night. The wind on the walls and windows as well as the trees flowers of the garden violently accompanied with thunder and lightning. As the rain droplets fell on the ground with heavy force the sky above started to become clear but the rain kept coming down with full force…
"Are you sure we will be able to attend the wedding in this heavy downpour?" A concerned Eden said to Marcel who was standing with his back to him as he was staring out the window of his room observing the actions of the rain.
Turning around. "Of course. A little rain can't stop me," Marcel answered and Eden smiled.
"Definitely. I should get the cars ready then," Eden said and Marcel nodded, turning back to face the window.
Eden turned around to leave Marcel's room but then stopped as something came up in his mind.
"Marcel," he called out, getting Marcel's attention and Marcel turned back to face him once more.
"Anything else?" He raised a brow as he asked.
"Yes," Eden stepped forward, closing the distance between them.
"I am listening," he said.
"Well it's about the girl you brought with you when you paid Elijah a visit, Ella. I want to understand what her stand with you is," Eden said.
"I have told you already she is of no importance," Marcel replied, his words holding no deception.
"Why then would you acquire her for 10 million dollars?" Eden asked as he still couldn't make sense of it when Marcel told him about it the first time.
"I have my reasons," Marcel said and that's exactly the same response he gave to Eden the first time he asked him.
"Yeah, you have said that already but I can't think of any reason why she is worth 10 million dollars," Eden said, evidently frustrated as he wanted Marcel to explain to him what his reasons were for acquiring Ella for that outrageous amount but Marcel wasn't telling.
"Why not leave that to me to worry about. It's my money after all. Isn't it?" Marcel said, letting out a faint but genuine smile.
"Of course it is." Eden conceded.
"Tell me. Why are you asking me about her?" Marcel asked, narrowing his eyes to him.
"Well I like her so I wanted to know if she is off band," Eden replied.
"I see. What about Jane?" Marcel asked with a raised brow.
"Jane is my girlfriend and I love her. That will never change. What I feel for Ella is just physical attraction as she is a very beautiful and desirable lady but I do not love her and I am not leaving Jane for her," Eden explained.
"So what do you want with her?" Marcel asked.
"I want to fuck her man. Haven't you seen how big her ass is? I want to pump that thing," Eden came clean with a devious smile on his face but Marcel went quiet for a while.
"You are free to do whatever you want with her," he finally spoke, then turned around to face the window.
"Thank you," Eden smiled then walked away however...
"Eden," Marcel called out to him as he was about to open the door.
"Yes?"
"In whatever you do make sure you have her consent. Don't have her against her will," Marcel said calmly but Eden understood it as a warning.
"Of course. That's not a problem. I could tell she is already feeling me," he replied.
"That will be all then," Marcel dismissed him and Eden left his room.
Meanwhile the rain continued to pour down heavily with loud thunder and lightning like the heavens had a quarrel with the earth..
Normally I don't get scared when it rains and thunders but today my heart kept skipping anytime I see a flash of lightning appear across the window as I dreadfully anticipate the deafening sound of the thunder to follow and somehow it always seem to catch me off guard as I become all jumpy when it sounds.
It got to a point I had to hide under the protection of the blanket with my eyes shot close but it was of no help. I dare say it was even worse now that my eyes were closed as I started imagining scary monsters were coming to get me that I started panicking like a child.
"It's just lightning... it's just lightning.." I kept muttering to myself to try to calm my nerves but then..
I felt a gentle touch on my legs and my heart cut as I feared the monster had come into my room.
"Ahhh!" I jumped up, ready to run away.
"Relax, it's just me," a startled Jane announced.
"Jane?" I was surprised but extremely relieved that it was her and not some rain monster.
"Sorry I didn't mean to startle you. I just wanted to confirm if you were asleep," she said with a sorry tone.
"I am awake just the sound of the thunder is just too loud and scary," I confessed, feeling slightly embarrassed.
"I know right?" She smiled then sat on the bed.
"I also find it scary," she said in a whisper.
"You do?" I asked, finding it hard to believe her because she looked so calm but then a thunder clapped and both of us jumped into each other's arms in fear.
"Hahaha.." we both laughed together in embarrassment...
I am actually glad she is here at least I am not alone.
"So what is your story? How did you end up being Marcel's property?" Jane asked and I frowned.
"I am not his property," I protested.
"I am sorry but you know what I mean," she said and I let out a sigh.
"I was betrayed by someone I considered a sister. She paid for me to be kidnapped and killed," I said and just talking about it was making me feel crushed in the heart.
"Oh my God. That's so terrible. What kind of person could do such a thing?" Jane looked genuinely sympathetic to my story.
"I do not know. I thought I knew her but clearly I don't and I truly don't want to talk about it," I said because I knew if I continue to speak about Gloria and her betrayal I will surely cry.
"I understand," she said softly but after a few seconds she resumed speaking.
"So Marcel acquired you from your abductors? Technically he saved your life then," she said but I frowned.
"Saved my life? Of what use is saving my life when I no longer get to live my life plus I don't trust him. He is just as dangerous as the men that abducted me. Look at what he did to that man that day during lunch," I said, the memory of the way Eden and that huge man assaulted the poor defenseless man at the dining hall.
"Gustavo?"
"Yes," I replied.
"Well technically Marcel didn't do anything to him, it was my boyfriend, Eden that roughened him up and Gustavo got exactly what he deserved," Jane said and frankly I was beginning to get upset as I stood up from the bed.
"Why would you say such a thing? How can you say he deserves getting beaten up? Maybe you are just as bad as Marcel and your boyfriend Eden." I spat as my emotions got the better of me.
"Did you know what Gustavo did?" Jane frowned.
"What could he have done??"
"He killed children!" She voiced out and I immediately melted down.
"What? What do you mean he killed children?" I sat down back on the bed.
"Yes he did. You see Gustavo actually works for Marcel and Marcel always loves to support and help children especially orphans and those battling with infirmities and diseases so he entrusted 5 million dollars to Gustavo to distribute to orphanage homes and hospitals in Acapulco, Mexico since Gustavo is from Mexico himself..." she was saying and I was following along attentively.
"Gustavo was meant to distribute the money to the needy children but instead he kept the money for himself and only gave out a few thousands. As a result of that up to a 100 children lost their lives," she said and I couldn't believe my ears.
"My God," I exclaimed.
"So now I hope you can understand why Marcel did that to him and why I said he deserves what he got?" Jane said and I nodded my head.
"How can people be this cruel and wicked?"
"I do not know, but know this. You are safe here," she said and I stared at her for a while.
I so badly want to believe her but if there is anything I have learnt is that no one can be trusted. So I gave a fake smile.
I can only be safe when I gain my freedom and that means leaving here.
I was in my thoughts when someone walked into the room.
"Eden? What are you doing here?" Jane asked, looking surprised and suspicious to see her boyfriend come into my room.
"Looking for you of course. One of the maids told me they saw you come in here," he said but I could tell he was lying. I don't know if she could tell too but I was sure she had some doubts.
"Really?"
"Yeah. You haven't dressed yet we will be late for the wedding," he quickly changed the topic.
"True but it's because of the rain," Jane said, falling for his scheme.
"Hurry up and get dressed. Marcel wants us to leave now," he said and Jane became in a state of urgency.
"Alright let me go prepare," she said standing up from the bed but then she turned to me.
"Why don't you tag along?" She said,
"What? I don't think that's a good idea," I protested against her suggestion.
"Come on, it will be fun. Ain't you bored staying in this mansion all day?" She said and she was right, it is quite boring to be here all day but I don't think I want to go to a wedding that I wasn't even invited to. Plus I don't even know the bride or groom.
"I don't know, I will feel awkward there as I don't know anyone," I said.
"Come on. You will stay with me.." she kept on trying to convince me to come along.
"Eden, don't you think it would be cool if she comes along?" She turned to her boyfriend Eden.
"Sure but if she doesn't want to come no need to force her," he said and it was clear he didn't want me to come.
The fucker only wants me around when his girlfriend isn't around, preferably at night. Big time fucker!
"You know what. I will come," I said specifically to spite him and there again I might see an opportunity to escape while at the wedding.
"Great then. I will help you pick a dress," Jane said excitedly...
An hour later
Marcel and Eden stood in the sitting room discussing. They were both dressed in expensive Italian suits and shoes. Marcel was dressed in all black as always while Eden was putting on a blue suit with brown shoes.
"Remind me who we are waiting for again?" Marcel said with a slight frown on his face.
"Sorry it's my girlfriend, Jane. She ought to have finished dressing by now," Eden replied, reaching for his phone with the intention to give Jane a call so she could hurry up.
However, just as he brought out his phone to call her, Jane alongside Ella appeared as they descended down the stairs like angels.
Jane was dressed in an elegant off-shoulder silver gown that had a lot of glitters on them like little stars and silver high heels while Ella was dressed in a simple but also elegant short black V-neck gown with black heels.
"Oh my," Eden was left in awe at their beauty especially that of Ella as he had a craving for her.
Marcel on the other hand looked indifferent at Ella's appearance however though his eyes were fixed on her.
"You didn't tell me she was coming along,," he said to Eden disapprovingly.
"Oh I forgot to tell you. Jane actually invited her and you did say I can do anything I want with her so far I got her consent. I did get her consent," Eden said with a sarcastic smile and Marcel frowned at him.
"She is your responsibility then," Marcel warned.
"Don't worry. I have my eyes on her always," Eden said, licking his lips as his eyes were fixed on Ella's smooth sexy legs as she approached and he was having naughty thoughts.
Why is he staring at me that way? I felt like hiding behind Jane, to cover myself from Marcel's piercing gaze. I was even more comfortable with Eden's perverted gaze to Marcel's as I could at least easily make out what is going on in Eden's head from the way he was looking at me but I can't tell or decipher what Marcel was thinking. For all I know he could be mocking my dress or be thinking I look ugly.
Of course I know I am not ugly but a man as attractive as him could have unrealistic beauty standards to meet his own unrealistic appearance and I don't consider myself to be extremely attractive…
"You look really beautiful," Eden said, giving his girlfriend Jane a kiss.
"Thank you love," Jane said blushing.
"You look charming as well," she complimented him.
"Thank you," he said, then turned his attention to me.
"You look amazing too, Ella," he said, and I faked a smile.
"Alright let's head out," Marcel said, not commenting on either Jane or my dress as he turned and started walking to the exit door and all of us followed suit.
There was a limo that was parked just outside of the building, close to the door. The rain was still falling so the four men standing guard opened up their umbrellas and shielded us until we got into the vehicle…
I am feeling optimistic about this. Like attending this wedding is the key to my freedom.
